    Totally understand your reasons for getting a new truck. I had too many bad experiences with old beat up cars failing on me at the worst times. I've lost 2 jobs in my life due to bad cars breaking down, and I just can't drive something I don't fully trust anymore. My '94 Pontiac Bonneville broke down on a weekly basis and I used to spend every penny I made keeping it on life support. I actually removed the power steering from it just so that would stop breaking. My apartment doesn't allow any working on cars so I can't reasonably fix anything myself until I win the lottery to afford a house where I live and work. I had a 2014 Corolla for a while (got an amazing deal on it at 12k miles) and I hated every second I drove it but at least it didn't ever break. in October I got to a point in my life where I could buy a sports car like I've always wanted to, and I went with a new 2021 Miata RF. Somehow managed to get it slightly under MSRP. Chances are it won't die on me and if it ever does, at least I have a warranty. Plus, I don't hate my commute to work anymore. It's usually the best part of my day now.

    • @elid9196
      @elid9196 Před 2 lety

      This is not a universal experience. How much is your monthly note and insurance for that 2021? Assuming you're renting your apartment, that money may be better spent on a cheaper, yet reliable, car and the rest saving so you don't have to win the lottery to get your own home. This is me making quite a few assumptions though, and I hope everything goes well for you.

    I'm not a subscriber as I'm a Cleetus fan, but watched Adam LZ before Cleetus for the mechanical part. What is great about Taylor Ray is that I can see a random video and he explains everything I need to know for it to make sense. I drove a 79 C20 from when I got my license until recently as a daily driver, work truck (construction trades, and tow rig and I have an 88 K5 Blazer on 35's and a 6" lift. The C20 has a very well built 406 sbc that meets the requirements of Komnifornia smog. In 2020 I also bought a new Chevy 2020 Duramax/ 10 speed with all the extras (LTZ with $10k in upgrades to match the High Country). I can easily relate to Taylor and what he has done. So far, I haven't parted with my square bodies, but needed a comfortable and fuel efficient truck to do what I need with a body that is beat from construction work and unpreventable ailments.....there isn't a day without pain anymore. While I saved money, I drove my mom's old 2005 CC 1500 silverado with over 300k on it. I considered a 2005 F250 with a bulletproof 6.0 since my parents bought a 350 dually that my buddy owned (upgraded and tuned as well as deleted), but $25k was too much for an older truck that would need $10k or more in engine and trans work. Luckily, 2020 was a hell of a year for work and I bought the new truck and only had 3 more months before I had enough to pay it off........I saved for a few years as I passed up used trucks. The shop looks good from the front and I haven't watched since he tore it down. While I am not into some of the cars Talor does, I need to catch up on all the other content he does so well. Great video!

      The worst thing about all the diesel engines since 2008 is the emission control stuff. I have an 08 Dodge 6.7 Cummins in my 2500. I like the truck but the engine is always giving me trouble regarding the regen. About once a month now I'll need to take it out on the road for a high speed run for about 60 miles so it can do the regen. This gets expensive, especially with diesel priced around $5.00 a gallon. Congrats on the new truck and was thinking you might want to add a large 'lean to' to the side of the shop for covered truck and maybe even trailer parking.
    Taylor, if I win the give-away truck, I'll trade you for the OEM wheels and tires off the new truck. I just would rather have a more common wheel and tire combo.
    That could even be an option for the winner of the give-away, if it's not me. :-)
    No doubt, I will be entering to win it.

    Congrats, dude! Followed you for all the trucks you talked about at the beginning. Makin' moves! Piece of advice, 6.7's need to be deleted to have longevity. I'd delete it immediately. You'll get quite a bit more power and reliability. Also they have CP4 issues and you should get one of the kits that prevents a grenaded CP4 from destroying the fuel system on it. Just my 2-cents. Again, congrats, my dude!

    I always used to drag something home that someone else was done with,redo it and drive it until it was junk. Buying a decent vehicle for a purpose goes a long way. Congratulations on your purchase. I hope it serves you well. I can't get over how well the 6.7 Ford tows. I recently had 25,000#s in tow through the mountains of Pennsylvania. Everytime I thought it was starting to give up I stepped on the throttle a little more and it literally set me back in the seat. Impressive vehicle.

    I think I’m getting old too fast. Haha I feel the exact same way about noise and comfort and I’m only 21. I made my LLY super comfy and as quiet as I could but it doesn’t compare to my new ‘15 lml high country comfort wise. Any I went from a 2500hd to 3500hd, yet still smoother ride. My race car can be as loud as it wants as long as my truck is comfortable🤣

    I have an 07 2500hd gas truck that I was towing my race car with and whatnot and had the same deal where I was worried every time we left. I would literally work on the truck for like a week leading up to every trip to deal with whatever had come up since we last towed with it. It was absolutely EXHAUSTING cause I was also always working on the race car in that time too. I ended up buying a 2015 f250 crew cab and man, what an absolute game changer. And I never ever have to think about it, just hook up and go. The difference it makes on your mental health leading up to each trip is more than you can measure in dollars. Congrats man, what a huge deal this is.
