  • It's been about 3yrs now since I got rid of the punching bag stand I got in 2010. It was too wobbly and noisy. Plus the bars holding the bag up by the chain got in the way during a lot of stuff I wanted to work. This thing is So much better to work with. It's a shame it took so long. I'm glad it's finally here tho.... And you can talk all the shit you want about those sloppy techniques I threw in this video.... I haven't been doing much martial arts training since 2019. Not having something work with late night in the rec room was major factor. So get your laughs in now. Because the next time I record with it. It'll be during a legit session. After I stretch out and warm up.

I love.. how much you love it haha. I just got mine this morning. I was excited so I went the easy route with water. Im disappointed about how much it moves in just a few light combos. Looks like I'll be draining it and filling it with sand soon. Cool video, brother.

Sand makes the bag hard to move and empty. I filled mine with water and put it against the wall so it doesn’t move. It moves side to side but you can adjust it. Whatever floats your boat.

What kind of sand did u use I used 200 pounds of all purpose sand and mine still moves quite a lot.

I used sand from lowes. I dont remember how much exactly but it was right around there. I know what you mean about the movement tho. There's no getting around it, if the thing gets hit with enough force. That's why I never even wanted one. Until after I wore a punching bag stand out over the course of about a decade. The punching bag stand was worse because the bag would pull the stand all the way over when it swung too much. So it was very restricting in terms of full force kix or even hook punches and ridge hands. 8 or so years of heavy training warped the metal frame and made the wobble to fall of balance easier and easier. I had to replace it before I sent it through a wall in my rec room. The thing about the wavemasters is they move pretty easily but they dont fall All the way over too easily when they're fillled with sand. So what I learned to do after I got mine was use it more like a speed bag. Than a bolted in secured bag type of target. There will always be that movement factor when they're hit with enough force. As student's learn to strike full force we are all taught to imagine going through our targets. With the wavemaster you're better off learning how to control that imagery in your mind where through your target is really only the foam cover into the foam. Not all the way through the wavemaster itself. More timing and accuracy than full destructive force. Another way is to just expect the movement and work into it as you would a set of offensive technique combinations. And roll it on back to the starting point at your discretion. I'm glad you asked me that. Because I havent used mine in a while. And now you've got me motivated. I'll make a video about that sometime soon.
