About Carl Cox:
One of the most charming DJs in the business. A musical ambassador and a veteran of acid house, a champion of techno, a dance music pioneer, label owner, King of Ibiza - you name it, Carl’s been there and done it, never losing sight of his passions - playing music, breaking tunes and celebrating life.
It was at the age of 15 that Carl bought a set of turntables and began working as a mobile DJ. Disco was the first music that captivated him but by the early 80s Cox had moved on to playing the same music as other young London DJs - rare groove, New York hip-hop and electro. He was perfectly placed to hear Chicago house music in its earliest forms, and when the epic 'Acid Trax' by Phuture (a.k.a. DJ Pierre) came out in early '87. “It was then that I thought, 'This is it,’ says Carl. “I would do my parties, and I'd play old rare groove and hip hop and soul and I would say 'Right you've got to hear this Phuture track’ and people would just stop and listen.”
As a founder of the sound, Carl rode the exploding British rave scene. He played the opening night of Danny Rampling's legendary Shoom, co-promoted The Project with Paul Oakenfold, held a residency at the Zap Club in Brighton and at the Sunrise rave in 1988, hooked up a third turntable for his dawn-breaking set, got 15,000 people back on their feet, and established a personal rep for three-deck wizardry.

Hands down the best thing I’ve ever seen live. The quality of mixing, track selection, vibe, lighting etc…So many of my favourite tracks are from this set, including artists with as little as 300 monthly listeners on Spotify. This man will go down in history among his audience and fellow DJs alike

This is real techno. None of that ambient, minimal, flat, boring stuff most of these "techno DJs" play. Carl Cox is one of the best DJs in the world in HISTORY.

Milo Practice real Techno includes that as well. I know that you can have an opinion, but other genres are still technically Techno. What might seem boring to you, may not be to other people.
Compare this to the likes of techno DJs such as Dax J, Anetha, I Hate Models and so forth - this is dull. Carl used to go super hard back in the day but good on him for making money and making it huge.

Butter I hate models and others are a completely different vibe. Carl plays groovy, slower techno, I feel like IHM is a lot harder - almost closer to trance
Half of this set I was so mangled I was lying outside staring at the stars listening to these bangers. Amazing weekend.

I get what you mean. Don’t get me wrong the visuals are ace but everything is designed for maximum impact of the music instead of creating fancy themes. The only downside is the sound quality on the Arc/North Stage although I’m hardly ever there as all my favourite artists and DJs tend to be inside the tents or structures.
The Steel Yard were this set was played is massive, like a giant hangar looming over you as the music thunders through the whole place.
Pringy Eric Prydz in the Steelyard is always something special. Takes you on a journey

I have new found respect and admiration for Carl after this set. After seeing a lot of other sets from Creamfields 2019 and seeing the Dj's play fairly safe for the younger crowds Carl comes on and absolutely smashes the place to bits with some real power. Awesome powerful amazing set.
I'm a fan of seb Fontaine liked Oakey back in the cream days. Carl has been around since 1989 then some changed constantly old rave then proper techno when everyone else was trance. Remember seeing him at creamfields when it was in Liverpool 🙌💙 But this set and last years at creamfields he's smashed it well and truly ♥️🖤🔥💯 if God 🙏 was a DJ 🎶💯

@k20 Not playing as much underground music and more of the hits they are known for than they might play at a club night such as Fabric etc. Festival sets are known for this.

I agree with umek and varela mate! but to say time warp is not a patch on that set is ridiculous bud not saying it isn't a good set but there is a good bit of tech house in that ! I listen to every carl cox set I can hear mate and he bangs out unadulterated techno at the right places and time warp was one of them !
