VAG MIB2 rear view camera activation (RVC Low)

- How to enable rear view camera (low) option in VAG #MIB2 infotainment units so the screen will automatically switch to your back camera when you select reverse gear. Still you need to connect the camera to the infotainment unit as well as power source and reverse gear signal.
⚠️ RVC option is supported by most of the infotainment units. But if your main unit part number ends with 819 or 820 most likely it will not support it. MIB2 devices were installed in many VAG cars, including Audi A3 8V, Seat Leon 5F, Skoda Octavia 5E, VW Passat B8, and more.
In this video you can see Volkswagen Golf MK7 equipped with VW Discover Media MIB2 infotainment system working with dashcam as rear view #camera.
ℹ️ You can use 3rd party camera. In this video I've connected VIOFO dashcam using AV-OUT connection to the quadlock connector at the back of the main unit. Important to set video standard to NTSC.

Module 5F → Long Coding →Byte: 19 → Bit: 4 (RVC Low) → active
Module 76 → Long Coding →Byte: 02 → Bit: 4 (RVC installed)→ active

Can i code into multimedia lowering the volume when i put in reverse? (RearViewCamera screen comes up) because i dont have OEM park sensor with module. (But i have aftermarket ParkSensor which not on CanBus and it,s only beeping when reverse)

Hello dear, my T-roc my21 car has the MIB3 part number ends with the last 3 lambers 820 and do not support the rvc. Is there any modification or I have to change MIB3 with a differente one? Thanks a lot for yout kind attenzion! Luciano
This video, like all your others, is perfectly clear to understand and very helpful. In my case I'm trying to enable the factory-installed rear view camera. After I installed a replacement MMI when my original one failed, the rear view camera is no longer working. Will the coding changes in this video work? Or can you tell me the coding changes I need or direct me to a video for this problem? Keep up the good work!

Podasz symbol tylnej kamery? W Passacie B8 brak jest możliwości montażu innego niż w znaczku, więc tego typu kamera wewnętrzna wydaje się być bardzo dobrym i tanim rozwiązaniem. Dodatkowo chciałbym zrobić włącznik, żeby włączać kamerę podczas jazdy (domyślam się że trzeba podać jakiś prąd na któryś pin, tak jak to się pewnie dzieje podczas włączenia biegu wstecznego) - masz pomysł jak to zrobić?

Hi, and thank you for the videos you post, they're really interesting. However I have a question if you don't mind, I have this device 'MST2_EU_WV_PQ_P0245T' with GEM 3.5 installed on it and one slot SD card. Is there any way to activate app-connect on it only with SD card ?

If there's no camera then there's no wiring. You will need to add it.

It's VIOFO A139, I've used an RCA-to-3.5mm Jack (4pin) cable and a MIB2 video adapter. You also need to make sure that your cars infotainment unit can display video feed.
Hello, I was trying to do it. But if I do it I receive a message of "Park pilot is not activated" Am I doing something wrong?
On the Begining of your video you explain how camera is connected. You mensioned the 2 pins and power, the 2 pins is ok, I know. Question 1: From where you took the power? From reverse light cable on the back? and Question 2: the Camera is CCD or HD or other? Can you tell please? My Display still on black after connecting and coding, trying to find why.
Ok I fix it. Need a Not HD Camera and a filter ( relay ) with 12 volts direct clean power and the swithch for relay to Reverese power ground must be connected and of curse coding as you did. If your car have parking sensors Park assistance must be coded too. Thank you grate video
Does this stop the parking assist sensors from showing on screen how close you are to something behind you? I find that schematic screen far easier to interpret than the rear-cam with schematic overlay, with the Golf's big butt I think the sensors are an absolute necessity
No, sensors overlay is there. You can see it at the end of the video, left side of the screen. And you can manually switch from the camera view to the full-screen parking assist view.

Nice, I have a composition media in my scirocco and the same dashcam, viofo a139, I have the 3 channel system, will it auto select the rear dashcam or do I need to do anything to set it to use the rear, cheers.
Most likely you need to perform the same coding procedure as I did. Also not all Composition Media units will support video input. If your device part number ends with 819 or 820 it will most likely not work for you.

Yes. MIB2 Standard with navigation supports both low and high cameras.

Hello ,i need help,please, i have Polo from 2015.Original media is 6CO035869B , Mib2 entry,.It has no module in the glovebox.I want to install aftermarket rearview camera.
I noticed that on radio, from blue connecter (mib) go out 2 cables and go "Somewhere".Is it possible that there is Preinstalation of rear view camera and this 2 cables go to the rear VW Emblem and finish with the yellow Video joint, to connect with camera yellow joint?
If not, what should i do? Should i disconnect the 2 cables from blue MIB and connect aftermarket MIB with Yellow Video joint?
Do i need electric stabilizer ir any converter?

@@Pandu.92 These's OEM LOW (with green lines) and OEM HIGH (with orange lines).
In HIGH lines are dynamic (path bends with steering wheel position) and there are additional views and modes (parallel parking assistant, trailer mode, wide angle mode)

You need PRO or ULTIMATE license. Device alone is not enough.

Jeżeli masz samochód na region amerykański, to masz pewnie do wyboru jedynie angielski, hiszpański, francuski. Przypuszczam, że trzeba by wgrać europejski soft (co samo w sobie nie jest takie proste) + zdjąć zabezpieczenia antykradzieżowe z systemu.
