Suit up for classic comedy! Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take a chance on going freelance, de-haunting houses in a new ghost removal service. As soon as they open their doors, their first order of business becomes saving beautiful cellist Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) and nerdy Louis Tully (Rick Moranis), who’ve inadvertently opened the gates of hell… right in their own apartment building!

You have Peter dressed with tie and buttoned suit (like a vacuum cleaner salesman) Ray dressed with a open jacket and tie (like someone coming out of church) and Egon dressed with a tie, open jacket and vest (like an accountant who is walking to work). They suit them cause the personalities, talk-fasting/casual-friendly/thinking logically

A lot of lines were originally meant for Winston but a last minute rewrite gave all the best lines to Venkman

Bill Murray is a self-proclaimed practitioner of the early 20th century Sufi mystic G.I. Gurdjieff. Gurdjieff taught that you could experience transcendent states of consciousness by deliberately committing "irrational" acts; for the purpose of temporarily shocking yourself (and others) out of their own habitual way of seeing the world. The goal of the practice was to temporarily move beyond the habitual way of perceiving into an as yet, unknown state of perception that was more "real" than what preceded it. It's a philosophy that Murray practiced all the time and is part of the reason why it always feels like he's on the verge of a 4th wall break with the audience.

Since my childhood, I was kinda amazed by the chemistry of their relationship. Especially the relationship between Venkman and Stantz always seemed to be special and close. And for some reason, Ray seems to be the only one who gets "physical contact" from Peter from time to time :) I wonder, why it was written that way.

OMG after all these years I just realized seeing in the Mayor's Office scene and on Winston's Interview that the colors of their individual clothes is used for the colors of their uniforms in the Real Ghostbusters cartoon series. Now it makes sense as to where they took the inspiration for the color change of the characters' uniforms aside from altering their looks. Even Peter's get up in the first Dana's apartment visit has the green sleeves, collar and over all brown colors that was used in his RGBs uniform.
I can't wait to see the new Ghostbusters's film for the great return of Dr.Peter Venkman!!
