- Corregidor Island gets called the Batanes of Siargao for a reason! We've always wanted to visit but it took us so long to get here. We are happy that we got to explore this amazing island with our dog Eden & daughter Story.
Our names are Jmayel, Sacha & Story. We traveled to Siargao island with Jmayel's mum & Story's grandma just before the Global pandemic that sent the whole planet into quarantine. We got stranded for months and fell in love with island life, now we want to make that life more permanent.

That coconut tree is a symbol of being resilient. Stood up back when it fell.
Love being in an island and take a small hike, swim a little and have a picnic with family. Life is simple yet very good.
It's a joy to watch Eden wandering off by himself up in Corregidor and then soaking in the sea on the beach - what a life, Eden :)

It's nice to see the two of you enjoying life a little more now, your videos over the last couple of weeks have had new life in them, there's more humor, there's little glimpses of " just living" maybe it's the combo of restrictions being less, Eden being with you, and that you have all found a land to call home. I was watching an older video not long ago when Story was a mere toddler and she was crying to get into the water you were visiting. Story is exactly where she needs to be. Batanes is the most beautiful island in the Philippines and the people are the best in the country.
There’s another Corregidor Island in Luzon where the last stand of the USAFFE took place during WW2.

In your intro, i thought you were going to Bataan, Corregidor island thats north of Manila. I never know there is also corregidor in siargao.I'm really an stranger in my own homeland. Lovely....!😊💖
Corregidor island of the USAFFE humiliation fame isn't in Bataan. It's located at the mouth of Manila Bay and is part of Cavite province, of Cavite City to be exact.

Corregidor, such a beautiful place.. Hard to imagine the horrible battles that happened on that island.. They were hard and bloody.. U have to be careful of plowing, digging, and building on this island.. Still to this day, U have to be careful to the possibility of unexploded ordinance on the island.. Everything from grenades to bombs.. As scary as it can be, I love Story's strong will and independence.. While she is like a little sponge, this is the time to teach her of the best and worst of her surroundings.. Never too young to teach her of the possible dangers that she could encounter.. She seems like a bright young child beyond her years.. Need to get that thumb sucking under control In an era of Covid!
Oh pleeeeesee, that is Corregidor Island located at the mouth of Manila Bay and part of Cavite province. This corrigedor island, on the other hand, is part of Siargao chain and of Surigao province. Two completely different islands.
@@eelchiong6709 Well, good to know it not the same battle worn Corregidor.. Hopefully it doesn't have many ordinance remaining either.. Unfortunately, ordinance is remaining throughout the Philippines.. "EVERY" year, ordinance is found in some of the most remarkable places.. Some of it was placed, some was dropped, some was stored, and there is much just off the beaches of many islands.. Disposing of ordinance is dangerous enough.. Damaged, burned, buried, and armed ordinance is even more dangerous.. There have been injuries and deaths.. Marine Corps & US Army.. Clearing ordinance in the military is what I used to do.. Be careful where you dig.. Especially in uncultivated land 75 year old that has "NEVER" been cleared.. I almost took a job offer in the Philippines to clear ordinance.. At the time, I wasn't scuba qualified..

I know you love your dog but please let her rest, pushing her like you are doing is cruel. Why can you not leave her home? If you are worried about her, why not hire someone who can sit with her? She is not enjoying herself, it is easy to see. She is at the end of her life, let it be peaceful. Would you drag your 100 yr old grandmother on expeditions, with her having no say in the decision. It makes me very sad to see. My 16 year old Springer died last year. I know what an old dog requires, lots of rest, freedom from pain, security, familiarity and love. I know you love her.
My sentiments exactly. It’s not “making memories” for Eden. It’s downright cruel. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to watch her being pulled on the harness and called lazy. Lying on hard metal boats or in carwell with her arthritic old joints. Also having visited the Philippines I can vouch that there are no “cooling breezes” but hot hot air or winds. My heart aches and I agree Eden needs to be resting ( with mild air con ) at home. How she pants with the intense heat . As a dedicated dog lover I hope they see the need for the poor girl to be given the peace she deserves. So sad. No malice intended as I realise they love their dog and have followed their journey for a few years but enough for her now. Poor poor Eden.

Good morning 8MfH.Another beautiful place in Siargao.
This is quite a trip for Eden. She ventured into the tall grass - even wanted to nap (but careful there maybe ticks!). She went slowly and sat right where the waves gently massaged her. That is such a cool scene. I do hope that your family from UK can come visit soon. Hopefully, we (I mean globally) get this situation straightened up. As usual the drone shots is quite immersive - Thank you. BTW the brownish coconut maybe the golden coconut and is usually sweeter. You may want to specify that. When plucked at right time, the ripe coconut is very sweet almost like 7-up minus the corn syrup. BTW coconut water is great for kidney problems.

I didn't know there's Corregidor in Siargao, too! I thought there's only one Corregidor located in Bataan! That's amazing.
Again, Corrigedor is in Manila Bay. And part of Cavite, never Bataan.
I know, I got confused too. That's not the real Corregidor. I've been there many years ago. There's canyons and arms, used during WW2, ruined walls, etc.....In fact we went there thru the Phil Navy vessel there......
