Nice job guys, love all these AZ Bulls! I had a 9 tag archery only during that snow storm.. I didnt bag one and had to cut my hunt short to be on the safe side. I didn't want to be out there alone during that time.

I got Drawn for Bull Elk on my Reservation. Fort Apache. I hope I get to see and bag a nice Bull like this one. About a month and some days left. Hope a 30-06 in 150 can do the job.
I use a .165 0r 180 grain with my 30-06.

I hunted AZ 27 and Austin was in camp at that time guiding. Great guy, put up with all my tall tales and the assorted bs you have in elk camp. It was a warm December and it took some time for everyone to fill their tags. Lots of pressure to put something brown on the ground but I think everyone tagged out. I might have been the last one to kill.
Is the terrain in 27 similar to this video? I may have been drawn for that area this year
@@randomguy5608 I was about 30 minutes south of Alpine. It was at about 9,000 feet and not quite as steep as in the video, at least where I went. I walked 4 miles from a trailhead to kill my elk, so I was quite a ways in there but that was rolling hills. I hired horses to haul it out ($400).

I heard it snowed the whole hunt last time and the processors only got about 9 a day so they doubled the tags this year in 5B

What spotting scope tripod were u using
Vortex Razor HD 85mm spotting scope and tripod in this video was a Manfrotto Carbon tripod. Austin has since upgraded to a Slik tripod.

I believe a guide should compliment your hunt, not do it for you.

good bull,,good hunt,,must have been a 6.5 creedmoor you shot him with,, usually takes 3 or 4 shots to kill an elk with that cartridge,,,,,
I'd like to know the caliber, bullet used, and where they hit the bull. Many youtubers are taking that out because they think it leads to demonetization, when it's not really true. I'm subbed to channels that have necropsy showing everything, and they still have ads.
