  • The Red Hunters are a somewhat mysterious Chapter from unknown origins who maintain close ties to the Inquisition. Whilst this association has its consequences for the Chapter, they are a useful asset to the Inquisitors and still a dangerous threat to the Imperium's foes.

As for the marines losing skills due to mind wiping, the Red Hunters gain skills through another process called Mnemonic Redaction Protocols where upon battle doctrines are mentally imprinted upon the marine similar to Neo learning kung fu. Not many people remember but Forge World used to have 6th edition 40k rules for the Red Hunters but sadly the pdf is no longer available on the website. Here is everything it says though:
The Red Hunters (Progenitors: Unknown) The Red Hunters Chapter is tied to the Inquisition by ancient bonds of honour and duty. Fighting in Inquisitorial strike forces and providing honour guards for the most senior of Inquisitorlords, the Red Hunters have confronted numerous horrors no mortals can face and be allowed to live should they survive, lest they taint others. As such, the Chapter’s line brethren are routinely mind-scoured to preserve their souls, a fact that makes them even more valuable weapons in the hands of the secretive and often necessarily brutal Inquisition. Through repeated mind scouring and deep-core psycho-indoctrination, Red Hunters brethren are instilled with countless subconscious battle doctrines which are only activated by the act of making war.
Mnemonic Redaction Protocols: All models with Chapter Tactics (Red Hunters) have the Adamantium Will special rule. In addition, once per game at the beginning of any one player turn, the controlling player may declare that a number of their units with Chapter Tactics (Red Hunters), including Dreadnoughts, equal to the number of the turn being played will have one of the following special rules, chosen by the controlling player, until the beginning of their next turn. For example, if the protocols are activated in Turn 3, then three units may choose a single special rule from the following to apply:
    • Counter-attack
    • Monster Hunter
    • Tank Hunters
    • Hatred
    • Skyfire
    • Interceptor
By this Seal: When using the Allies Matrix, all models in the Red Hunters detachment count units from Codex: Grey Knights and Codex: Adepta Sororitas as Battle Brothers so long as an Inquisitor is also present in the army.

i think they are successors of the dark angels my reason being as i noticed the image at 5:20 the marines right shoulder has a tactical arrow with the squad number over the arrow which you would most communally associate with the dark angels

“...assuming they or the Inquisition weren’t listening..”?
Really? I’m gonna give you this one, Michael, as just a statement said due to the ease of the parlance of our time-
Because of course- you know, as well as I do, that the Inquisition is ALWAYS listening! And the quality of the corpus of your work tells me that you’re a loremaster of no small skill here. So- thanks for the video- as usual, I really enjoyed it, and am somewhat jealous as to the amount of lore that you have access to. Thanks again, my friend- it’s always a treat to sit back for 20 minutes or so to watch a video of yours!

They're kinda similar to Dark Angels and Space Wolves. Both were created to fight/kill astartes

Inceptors and Crusaders chapters bear similar marks like that of the inwuisition.
On a second note. The Obsidian Blades used heavily mind wipes. From the small amount of lore they have they are a 2nd founding ultramarine chapter wiped in m41 during the Red Waagh. They are know as more depressive then the raven guard

From memory, it's due to their Belisarian Furnace, one of the new implants. Quite how that works I forget off the top of my head, but I think it's that organ.

I get but I don't get the mind wiping on Astarties. Furthermore what about all the other astarties chapters that have fought demons and what not. There has been 13 black crusades and Emperor only knows how many demonic incursions, what am I supposed to believe half of humanity gets killed of buy the inquisition every time??
And back to my main point.
What about all the forces that have fought them??,
    Some explanation is required.
    Long live the Emperor

A lot of those forces became chaos space marines. This is what the inquisition is trying to prevent i imagine

If I was a Chaos puppet I’d encourage more Inquisition captured Astartes Chapter. Why? Because with that power, Inquisitors love to scourge their own side. And love to try and make these captured Chapters go against other Chapters. Yes. More Astartes police actions at the whims if Inquisitors, means more division and damage to the Imperiums cooperation. That includes High Lord Chapters, like Minotaurs. The more private interests subjecting Chapters the better. The more corruption, or unchecked power the better.
Now If I was another Astartes Chapter I’d make it a point to as sneakily as possible destroy, impede, ostracize, and scourge these private interest Chapters as the danger they are to effective action of the convention of Astartes Chapters. As in made to steal the ordinary independent dedication to be above petty squabbles for governance performed by the tyrants home extract resources from the flesh of “Citizens”. Citizens are nothing in reality. Livestock to be corralled. Not so for Astartes, because they were not made to e subject to the human cattle barons running the rest of the Imperium. Not Chattel to be bought and sold, rather sentinels so stand apart from those concerns. Stand against the dangers to mankind’s survival.
If I was a private interest, I’d eliminate and capture direct control of every Chapter I could. After all I know what’s best for the Imperium. I should choose. I am the only one who understands what should happen. High Lords, Administratum, Mechanicus, Inquisition, Echlessiarchy, and all of em, should believe they are the rightful controllers of the system, and that Astartes should be Automatons to be subject to them, and them alone.
