Ricoh Singles TLS Tutorial: Batteries, Lenses, Film, Flash, and Double Exposures

The Ricoh Singlex TLS was a spectacular M42-mount camera with some great capabilities, especially for the time. The camera camera with stunning Ricoh lenses and featured a 1/125th flash sync speed, very fast compared to other, similar cameras. If a modern 1.5 volt battery is used - make sure to use a silver oxide cell as opposed to an alkaline cell. -
Silver oxide cells maintain a flat discharge voltage for most of their life. Alkaline cells on the other hand tend to have a voltage drop when in use.

I have this model and enjoy using it. The Rikenon lenses perform very nice also. Also just received a very nice Ricoh 500 rangefinder. Thanks for sharing all this info.

There appears that there are many brands that re badged this camera. I have the same model only with SEARS.
