When I got my puppy, my breeder informed us that we must socialise them when they are really young with different sounds, people, situations etc so they won’t get nervous when they grow up. She even printed us a check list of all the things I must expose my puppy to before a certain week. I wish this little pup’s breeder did the same and informed the lady.
I feel like all breeders should do this that’s amazing your breeder put together a check list for you
That's a good idea. The idiots we got our one dog from took her outside, decided and she didn't like it, and never brought her outside again! She was five months old when we got her! It's no mystery as to why I'm watching this video.
She says she doesn't have time to teach her dog how to walk... you just got a puppy. Outside of work, you should expect to spend almost all of your time explaining the world to your pup for at least a few weeks/months. If you don't have time for that, you don't have time for a puppy. Maybe think about getting an older dog who's already mostly trained, or don't get a dog.
100% like duhhh
Atleast she seeked help unlike a lot of plpl
No research whatsoever before getting an animal that’s what she shows.
Perfectly said
@@saab2906 yeah that's definitely better. Sad how many people instantly give their dog away because "it's more work than they thought". Nobody's perfect and getting help when getting your first pup is a great idea. We don't need to know everything. But being surprised a puppy needs time and work is a little much.
I love how gentle and patient the owner is with the puppy. You can tell that she wants whats best for him and she is really willing to put in the effort to take better care of this dog and help it go on walks freely. My respect goes to her bro, and victoria for helping her
She has bought a puppy without doing any research. Not just any puppy but one that can, if not properly trained cause catastrophic harm to her children or anyone for that matter!
@@albagubrath9073 True. But its nice to see people grow and learn. Instead of neglecting them. Its ok if she make mistakes, we all do. But atleast she is willing to make changes unlike most pet owners
@@Gracelleisokay I agree! It was nice to see someone recognize they need help --- and then actually accept the expert's advice!
@@albagubrath9073 While I agree it is good to research I disagree with your assumption that the dog would automatically be violent if not trained properly. I have not had a bad experience with bully's yet and I work with all kinds of dogs on a daily basis. I hate when people assume the worse in them. Usually bully breeds I have heard about that have been vicious were those abused or trained to be which is terrible in itself. I have seen many more Chow Chows and German Shepard's growl or go to bite while working with them. Every Pit and Bulldog I have met has been sweet.
Only she doesn’t have enough time to care for the puppy
When I first saw her take the puppy outside I noticed he wanted to sniff the front yard. She didn’t know how to listen to what the puppy wanted. Victoria nailed it on giving the puppy what it needed ♥️
My boy was frightened to walk at first, we think someone wasn’t kind to him because as soon as he saw the lead he’d freeze and shake. Lots of cuddles and treats with the lead, and gentle walks around the kitchen got him over it. Now he barks at me to hurry up with lead when it’s time for walkies!
Aww! Dogs don't forget! I Love how you helped him overcome his fears with positive re-training and patience🙂 👏. It's all about making it fun too. 😀
Wonderful now you have a happy bestie to go for nice walks with.
Enjoy! 😍
I adopted a puppy from a rescue over the summer and he was exactly the same way with walks/going outside. Now he wants to go outside all the time 😂
I hope my dog will be like that. he's so nervous outside. only 15 weeks old.
What a cute precious baby! 🥰
🥰
Right? I just want to snuggle him!
@@fallingawayfromthenorm same! 🥰
He looks gorgeous, I wish I had him
Thanks to Victoria I bought my dogs a long leash and they absolutely love it. It has even helped with stopping pulling so much.
He's so adorable 😭😭😭😭
He knows he's much too gorgeous to engage with the local common folk that's all!
😂😂😂
Even a tough, muscular-looking dog can be frightened. He’s really just a big teddy bear.
the older they get the more they turn into marshmallows. built like wrestler as soft wool in the right hands of course
For now. But when he’s fully grown and his fear turns into fear aggression….
@@woopwoop1236 someone is breedist
@@FamilyChannel-yv1xv or they realize that these dogs are statistically more prone to unprovoked aggression
@@woopwoop1236 any dog can be either calm or agressive. It depends on how she or he is raised. Many, many specialists have said that. The owner is the one responsible to teach their dog what is an appropriate behaviour and what isn’t.
He is too precious ♥️
Aww he seems like such a sweet and calm boy
Puppies are just puppies I wanna hold them and give them kisses and snuggies🥰😘💋
same here 🥰
Same ✨💓💖
I like how the mum says she is so busy and yet she gets a dog and she has no idea how to look after one
exactly. It's fine to have trouble, that's why she got help from Victoria, which is great. But if you don't have time, don't get a puppy. They need all of your attention
@@naomif9964 she said she doesn't have time to fight with him for hours on end. Not no time at all. She needs to learn dominance training
@@russelljordan7688 Discussing with your dog for hours on end is also part of owning a puppy. They need to learn so much, and they barely understand us yet. So it takes a lot of time.
@@naomif9964 true but it doesn't have to be pulling teeth on every single lesson. People have a life, they have schedule's. That's why dominance training is key. It quickly teaches them rules and boundaries to follow and provides confidence and you communicate with your dog on non vital lessons and connect with it. Similar to how I trained my wolf
@@russelljordan7688 uh, wolf?
Like with a hint of salt but I'm pretty sure dogs have developed a different psychology and instinct from wolves.
Also why do you have a wolf
I`ve owned Great Danes for many years and my pups were never walked distances until they were 6 months old. All they need is to go for very short walks to socialise, get used to traffic etc..
It feels illegal to be this early 😂❤
fr😭😭
you can tell she loves her bby, puppies are challenging at times, but I couldn't imagine my life wout a dog.. such joy and love they bring to family, or just a single person like me
Aww, so cute! It's great to see someone really take on the advice.
I need Victoria to help me. My dog refuses to go outside by herself. She'll tell me she needs to go but won't go outside to pee/poop unless myself or my dad go with her. It's a real issue for me when I'm having a bad migraine or fibro day. It would be nice if I could let her out on those days without having to follow her out.
if you leave the door open, does she just stand there and eventually pee on the floor?
I started with opening the door, releasing my pup, then stepping out a few steps and giving the potty cue (one that means 'pick a spot to potty')... next time I took a few steps out, the dog ran out, I gave the potty cue, then stepped back inside and waited at the door (with door open) until the pup had done his business. I kept taking baby steps ( door cracked, door closed, me taking a few steps away from the door, me out of sight, etc) until my pup can go out, potty, and return without getting into trouble.
Mind you, we don't let our puppy have unsupervised time outside. There are just too many uncontrollable variables that could cause trouble and even at 9 months old, we have a lot of distraction training to do before we can trust that he won't go chasing after a skunk or neighbor's cat or something else he shouldn't get into the habit of chasing.
It's gonna be different for every dog though... if they are comfortable with one step but uncomfortable with the next, then you gotta split it into even smaller chunks.
Great advice with a fantastic outcome for such an incredibly gorgeous wee puppy 😊
He’s just so gorgeous
When I got my puppy she never wanted to leave because they’d never even let her leave the crate! It doesn’t help that when we had her it was snowing a lot. She loves going out now tho!
which is why socialization and desensitization is.. extremely important
You can tell she's first time dog owner. Hardness is best then collar leash.
Genuinely doesn’t matter what tools you use, as long as the dog isn’t pulling so hard they’re damaging their throat. Harnesses make it more comfortable for dogs to pull, whereas a flat collar makes it uncomfortable and potentially harmful if they do pull hard. However with a tiny puppy you shouldn’t be experiencing pulling hard enough to hurt them.
Given the insane horrendous cruel behaviours of some previous people on this show, first time versus so called experienced owners makes little difference in some cases. This lady was doing brilliantly compared to many and called in Victoria extremely quickly. Win win all around 😊
But dog is so cute
You can be better even for a first time dawg owner. When you can read the dawg and its behaver.
But I guess not everybody is not good with animals.
I myself love to train animals and work with em ❤😁
Harness is best! We love the one we have for our puppy. And she is my first dog
He’s too cute, be brave puppy :3
hes just a fuzzy little potato, aww
What a beautiful little angel
He’s soooo cute! 😍
I agree with everyone! What a beautiful boy!
My puppy hated walking. Hated going outside. Hated the rain, dark, wind.... I kept taking him out. Had to carry him to our destination, then we'd walk happily home. ALL the way home. Now he can't wait to go out. He's mad on balls. Lol.
He’s so cute 🥰
He’s so friggin’ cuteee
Am I the only one who immediately thought of litterboxes for some reason while watching these videos
hes so cute
Love you so much Victoria and your such a sweetheart ❤
What a sweet lil guy! I agree, you have to socialize dogs with the pack early. Also, longer leash not only helps the pup, but the owner as well
What a cutie 🥺
Gorgeous pup pup 🐶
That is one beautiful puppy
That is such a cute dog!
So cute
What a cute puppy!
Victoria knows best ❤❤❤
Yes so cute
Excited to see how this goes!
Shaq like Shaquille O'Neal? He is a beautiful dog.
Fantastic job owner and well done 😊
Poor thing is so cute 🥰
so cute 🥰
Baby steps with the puppy. Praise it when it goes outside.
Happy Saturday Victoria! Hope you have a wonderful weekend ❤
Gorgeous isn't the right word for Jack. When I hear the word gorgeous, I'm thinking of a collie or an Irish settler. Super adorable cutie pie are the right words for Jack though ❤❤❤ Omg so adorable!
He’s cute
Great video!
Thank you. I needed this because my mother in laws chug doesn't like to walk or get out of the house for that matter. But she wants me to walk her dog because the dog has gained alot of weight . I am not a dog person so I have know idea what to do.
Oh my god he winked!
Omg he’s soooooooo so so adorable 🥰🥰🥰🥰 give him to me😅😅😅
Cool
I I have a king charles spaniels she 9 years old never walk on a lead in her live because she lived in the boarding kennel all her life I do won't to get her confidence to walk with me she is very nervous dog aswell were do i start please hope you can help me
Dog experts are basically also human experts, cuz it’s always the human’s fault.
This doggy looks like a dog my hairstylist owns.
Same ol issues. Socialisation and consitency.
❤❤
How many times should a puppy eat?
I had this with a little dog I took on.
I made it do what I required after many weeks she’s now loving it, she wines when she has to return back 😂
This is the cutessstttt little creature Ive ever seen!! Anyone know if little Shaq has IG?! Or a CZcams channel?!!
she didn't do much research or training before she got him im guessing. That would be a nightmare once he was huge and fully grown!
Thanks. My puppy was doing the same thing but i just got it so im not sure why they are anxious
They just need to learn the outside world isn’t all scary
Update: after taking it slowly. She now enjoys going outside. I just had to take it slow and be patient.
@@realityorfiction that’s wonderful your doing great
Victoria telling us her secrets
What type of dog is Jack?
She’s too busy yet she gets a dog . Good idea init
Anyone notice the spider in the background
Over pampering too common of a problem
Why does she have a dog. Glad it worked out in the end , for both of tgem
He's a PUPPY!!! Don't get a puppy if you can't spend the same time as you would with a baby for at least a month
Shaq having agoraphobia is unheard of by anyone that knows him.
Just a question how many times a week should a 3 month old puppy who is in the same situation, go for a walk?
Everyday small walks as shown
@@AnimalEmancipation ok, cause mine is all ok with till he see another moving object
I didn’t take my puppy on walks until he was 4 months old and fully vaccinated, but he got 3 15 minute walks a day.
@@terryberry38 ok thank you
What should I do I have a 4 month puppy he bites us and causes harm when biteing us we went to a fenced park so I let him off leash and my baby sister sat down on the floor and he attacked her biteing pulling her hair im trying my best but he won't behave
Usually when my puppy got all bitey was when he was tired. You can try shortening your walk to see if that helps. Make sure they have plenty of time to nap in a quiet environment.
Make sure he have a lot of chew toys as well
You need to find here on CZcams about that situation, there's so many videos here and this video is not the answer
Learn the difference between attack and play please. Dog's use their mouth so that's all the puppy knows... you correct puppies how a mother dog would.. scruff back of neck firm no and don't give them attention... you should be providing structure with a crate, when you have visitors it's not puppy pal playtime they need to learn they aren't the center of attention and how to sit in a place quietly until invited for interaction.
Mayb should of thought what it takes to raise a dog....probably nurtured his nerves without realising it...oh lord
0:55 *wink*
what dog is this?
America bully
If you're so busy, you shouldn't be getting a PUPPY. Especially a puppy that is going to be a big, strong dog that needs to be leash trained early or else risk danger for others and the dog. Get a small mature dog
Biggest thing with a dog , get them socialised asap !! Last thing you want is a nervous jittery dog you want a happy relaxed dog who’s great with other people and dogs . Why do you think people who barely ever go out struggle the socialise !!
If she doesn't have the time, why did she get a dog? It's not a toy, this is a living being. Patience is the utmost priority and time should be the last thing on your mind.
I need your help my dog will not eat and we had her for a year🤔🤔🤔🤔
Take her to the vet, there could be serious issues.
I think you might have a soft toy dog...
Talk to your vet about possible health issues that could cause an upset stomach, and also to double-check that your expectations of how much she should be eating are reasonable. A lot of people seem to worry that dogs are too thin when they have a healthy build, so I'd ask your vet about that as well. Make sure your dog is getting enough time to sleep and relax as well as exercise, again ask your vet about dog specific recommendations.
I don't understand how what I just seen in this video is not common knowledge.
Why not do some research on getting a puppy
Well even if you do a whole load of research on puppies before you get one nothing can prepare you for the puppy then not wanting to walk, hence why she didn't know what to do. She tried encouraging it, didn't work. For a lot of dog owners, especially new ones, that would be all they would know what to do, she just needed some help in being shown what more she could do to help his confidence
Is that American Bully or Bulldog?
American Bully
Better leash and collar.
You have a puppy you need time
You don't have time to meet your pup's need?? Don't get one.
god I'd love a dog that won't walk, especially on a freezing miserable day like today

Mee
This dog was traumatized!
She didn’t put no effort into walking ‘IT’ lol she called ‘JACK’ a ‘IT’ lol
She seems like a nice lady. However!!! To get a bulldog PUPPY as your very first dog when you have absolutely no clue what you're doing and don't even know how to leash train your dog is an AWFUL decision to make... I don't get people in the UK or US who do that
Exactly… if that dog had continued to be scared into adulthood, they could become reactive, and with a dog like that that can be dangerous.
If she doesn’t have time she shouldn’t have a dog. Dog owners must dedicate time otherwise animals can be dangerous.
But that dog seems like a dog that people put dogs in dog fights
Lean athletic pit bulls were used for dog fights not American Bullys
What?!
Bad genetics will make scared puppies. Also a lack of socializing. That dog will have major issues when it’s older bc of its owner.
Not necessarily. Dogs learn their whole life and they started to make a change already.
I watch this because I can't stand dogs 😂
She shouldn’t have a dog.
