You have a very old SM57 that is dual low impedance. Exchange the orange wire for the red wire and the output impedance drops to 38 ohms. The output level will also drop. thanx i got it.

If you are gonna use it in a high gain instrument input that's what you do or pay 40 dollars more for a low to high impedance convertor.

My SM57 Unidyne lll has an orange wire at the xlr connection. I know where to fasten the red blue and black I think but the orange?
