Alyn, I am in the parking lot of my local Post Office, because I just picked up your book “Photographing The Night Sky.” It is FANTASTIC and much more than I expected. Thank you!
I was stargazing and doing a spot of milkyway photography in the Brecon Beacons last Friday night. We had clear skies, it was moonless and the gegenschein was wonderfully visible! It’s an extraordinary sight! 👍🏻👍🏻
Another excellent video full of interesting information, looking forward to seeing what I can capture this month, the Zodiacal Light and Gegenschein are on my list, thanks Alyn! But the best thing to happen in September will be your book arriving - can’t wait 😊
Excellent video. I especially enjoyed the explanations of this month’s special events. You have a way of teaching that makes astronomy accessible for everyone to understand. Thanks!
Got your book a week ago, been so busy I have not had time to open it, no worries as I am sat on the ferry, 7 weeks in Spain with plenty of time, Searching through the caravan for the book as it's a 2 night crossing to be informed by the wife she took it off, 30 years and they are still a mystery to me, 😂😞
Great explanation about the Zodiacal light Alyn 👍👍, I really love these series "what's in the night sky" always looking forward to them. Oh, last week I received your hard back book, wow what a masterpiece, you've put some serious effort in that book, great job !! Will take some time to read it completely, must say it's my thickest book I have now 🙂
Alyn. I think ur timestamps are off… or maybe my youtube is messed up. Fantastic content as usual; just wanted to give you heads up. Looking forward to the book delivery! 🎊 Cheers
Hi Alyn! You mentioned doing a vid on printing our work at some point, any chance that’s coming up soon? Always afraid of spending money printing a night pano or deep space pic and it looking like a noisy trash once it’s blown up!
Hey Alyn! Love your content and a been a silent fan of your work and first time commenter! I have a humble request and that is since Vero is picking up could you also consider looking at that platform as well when you choose your #WITNS winner? We can share amazing horizontal landscape shots there now for viewing easily by just turning our phones! Please please do consider this! Much love from New Zealand ❤️ Cheers Dave
This is a really informative video with no gimmicks to try to get you to watch it …really good. Sometime in the 1970s I went out at night into the countryside and Orion had just come up over the hedgerows. and Jupiter I believe had moved into the bright stars to the left I think of Orion making they all look like an ark as it were crowning Orion. It was spectacular. Is there a website with a star-map that I could wind back to the 1970s and try to find the dates that this happened? A lot of the starmaps have diagrams and too much data included. all I want to see really is just the stars and planets et cetera without all the data and without the diagrams of The Greek gods et cetera?
Here in Eastern Washington the weather has been so unpredictable and mother nature so fickle I don't dare say what I want to see for fear of jinxing it. BUT... there is local music festival nearby in a raised open field on the 10th (which is my birthday) we aren't sure the orientation of the stage yet but are hoping we can get a cool composition with the band the stage and the moon. I have never knowingly captures Zodiacal light so that will be a good goal!
Just starting to watch this video and my, Question to, Alyn is? Please, try and observe between. Alkaid and, Cor-Caroli. Only, because of what my eyes witnessed a few years ago. ie. 2, white lights travelling between the 2 Stars, From, up here in, Leeds.14. Coming from a place called, Briton Ferry. There are more Stars, down there!
Did anyone see a group of lights moving fast through the Colorado skyscraper at 5am on set 6.stand of lights moving fast toward Florida last night from colorado.
Quick question for you what is the first bright light in the sky just before the sun goes down??? It also has one white light on the left side and two lights on the right side one is white an the other is blueish color an they are all in a straight line of each other. I know its not a plain cause it's the same as list night and the night before. September 22nd to 24th this evening. Im sure it will be their tomorrow as well I've never seen anything like it its already light up before the sun goes down.
Hey alyn I got a star tracker and I have sony 200-600mm lens, is there any Software to take long minutes exposures or intervalometer is best solution. Please need your suggestion in it.
pink_slxp You didn't mention if it was in the morning or the evening sky, but for the past week or so, the Waning Crescent Moon, was in the morning sky rising from the East, lowly in the atmosphere and refracting through the relatively long angle of the Earth's atmosphere which always makes the Moon [or any celestial object in the sky] appear darker in color - yellows into oranges into reds. Then it has been back into the evening sky as a New Waxing Crescent Moon, showing the same low angle in the sky for the first few nights, very low in the West. In Portland Oregon as it set on the first few nights after New Moon this past week, it was extremely red, due to forest fire smoke in the air, drifting up from Southern Oregon, which adds to our atmospheric conditions already darkening any celestial object when they are viewed low on the horizon. I'm going to come back and edit here to add a photo with a direct hyperlink, which I have all these images in my Facebook Albums, for the past 17 years, [which I have over 237 Facebook Albums, as each Album has a handful, to dozens, to hundreds, or possibly near a thousand images, in a few of the albums, but I'll link it instead to another free photo hosting site album that many photographers use called Digital Photography Review, [or DP Review] In this case it will be in my Mark Seibold DP Review Gallery.
I'm north of Boston Massachusetts and just saw a massive fireball, much larger and slower than the examples on CZcams, and I am not finding any news about it?? I see that in Ireland and UK they are reporting a few (this one was heading that direction as well). Anyone have any idea about this? The AMS is actually DOWN right now, where else can I find info on this?
@@D-train69 this morning people are telling me its from Delta IV rocket that launched out your way actually 😆 we'll see what people can come up with... The sightings in Europe place me in the tail of where theirs originated
Okay, Falcon 9 actually launched around that time out of Cape Canaveral. That must be what I saw and explains why it was soo much slower than the other fireballs on here.
This September is the highest Harpazo watch ever!
I can't forget when I was kid somewhere in nature in winter time, the sky was so clear, stars everywhere, was so visible milky way line
Hey Alyn! Every time I see your videos, it gives me extra motivation to take more photos of the mesmerising night sky 🌌 love your videos man!
all 3 of the #WITNS were all so beautiful and happy and amazing!!! thanks alyn
congrats people

Thanks again for giving us a great overview of what's to come this month. Always look forward to your videos!
Hey Alyn. Thanks a lot man. Your WITNS videos are the best for night sky information.

Verv nice video, thanks a lot for sharing.

Good stuff! Thanks!

It’s crazy I was already planning to watch this and had it saved but I saw a meteor 2 nights ago I think it was around 2 or 3.
I was certain that bright spot in the sky is Jupiter. My landlord insists it's the mother-ship. 😄
Thanks a lot, Alyn! Just fyi it seems the chapters in this video are the same as the August video (e.g. "11:22 Perseid Meteor Shower").

Hi, may I know from you get the calendar of upcoming celestial events? I'm curious to know that💫
I'm in the USA, and I wish I could see Crux from my latitude.
Did you see the string of lights, about fifty traveling in a line two nights ago. What was thar,
Thank you bro..
Thanks. What is the time displayed, UTC?

Intervalometers are great
Sounds great but in Australia we got a 3rd la nina coming, so we going to be wet again lol
There was an odd light that looked like a red crescent moon but now I’m not so sure what it was and I still can’t figure it out😅

I'm in California an didn't see anything like that but doesn't mean it didn't happen, keep your eyes to the sky.
