Everyone’s brushing over the fact the plane landed safely and withstood the turbulence
Not me - that’s the very first thought I had!
Me too.. I was like.. Thanks God they can safely landed.. And was admiring the pilot can handle the turbulence..
But.. Still feel sorry for the passanger :(
Boeing 777 - one of the aircraft with concerns about build quality. What's odd is that it fell from 37000' to 31000', from very thin air indeed to a level generally considered flyable. Recent studies have raised questions about Bernouilli's airflow presumptions in such conditions, as the "distance over/under wing" difference creating a pressure differential giving lift only works if there actually is significant air to do so. Jetstream flows can disrupt that, but are beloved of airlines as they cut flight times and fuel burned. Others comment on this having occurred in the Intertropical Convergence Zone, which has been noted as breaking down in Monsoonal circulation, particularly in the East Indian Ocean. - exactly such a weather shift happened on Monday.

This is why I stay seated (if possible, and usually for the entire flight) with my seatbelt fastened. I'm a retired Travel Agent, and I know that turbulence happens, I heard about people hitting the ceiling too often. I really recommend keeping seatbelts fastened.
Seat belts should always be worn.
The plane still manage to land safely even its worse turbulence and save all pasenger except 1,,, still lucky❤
this is not lucky. someone died, 71 injured, and its Boeing again. saying its lucky is actually insulting to the families of that man and to those who have been hospitalised. the correct response is to ask why this happened, and why again on Boeing? these planes have caused many fatalities over the last year and Boeing murdered the whistleblower!
It is lucky, I’m heartfelt sorry for the man who died and all who were injured but can we not focus on the positives, it could have been so much worse, blame is easy to hand out but some things are just out of human control.
🙏❤️
@@han9488it’s arrogant to believe that the ‘correct response’ is your own perspective. Yes, it is a tragedy but could have been a whole lot worse.
@@han9488 it was a turbulence! What has this to do with the make of the plane? And the person who died apparently died of heart attack, so nothing to do with the plane itself.
it's not luck, it's aviation. Planes are safe, fullstop.
If you’re seated you should have your seatbelt on, this has happened a number of times over the years but people quickly forget
True, I try to keep my seat fastened for this very reason. However if you need to go to the bathroom, stretch you legs on long-haul or you are working aircrew then that is not an option. I don't yet know the full facts here. All I will say is that I'm grateful for the heads up until now that pilots have given us passengers and aircrew to buckle up when there was a risk of turbulence. Sometimes not alot happened, other times it got a bit bumpy.
imagine seeing the emergency services surround a plane from the terminal just before your flight. I wonder how many people noped out of there after
Dying in flight from blunt trauma ? Says a lot about the structural integrity of the plane itself, that it didn't break apart and kill EVERYONE. THAT'S IMPRESSIVE.
That is the most sinister yet positive comment I've ever read lmao
@@joshualessore7652 Thanks Josh. After the recent plane problem fiascos, I was trying to give props here...that it could've been MUCH worse.
Am I the only one who thought about the show Manifest, (aeroplane and storm, in the beginning- disappears and involves time travel etc), but it's a good show.
It's designed to stay intact, however the decent was planned and controlled, turbulence is just rough air. better to stay in your seat with belt on, if not going to loo etc..
Is it? For something that needs to fly at almost 600 mph without breaking apart when being hit by a bird/object I'd say a squishy human rattling around inside should be if zero concern
I’m sure they would have said during the safety briefing that when you are seated you should fasten your seat belt, even if the sign is off.
Shout outvto the brave pilots who managed to keep the plane going and land safely it takes a person with expertise to stay in control. We'll done Pilots
the same pilots that chose to fly through that storm ..they'll face trial btw
not a DEI hire then!

Thank you!! People here are quick to apportion blame but were they there at thousands of feet ? No but they still feel ‘qualified’ to denigrate the pilots. The fact is it COUID have been so much worse for everyone concerned. Good on the pilots ❤

Wow
I hope your sister makes a full recovery.
I read the 1dead passenger was from Scotland, are u aware ?
The plane hit an air pocket, which is a downdraught that causes a plane to lose lift. It says something for the much maligned Boeing airliner that it fell hundreds of feet with many tons of passengers and luggage aboard but didn't break up. I dont think turbulence is anyone's fault, arliners usually fly above the weather but what goes up must come down.
Increased turbulence is everyone's fault... it's climate related... ironically, the more you fly, the more you're to blame... the air gets warmer = more extreme turbulance. There's whole science papers on it. That's a fact.
Has this sort of thing happened before? Like this serious? I never knew turbulence could be that extreme and unpredictable.
Always leave your seat belt buckled
When taking off or landing, my seatbelt is snuggly fastened. During flight I wear my belt but very loosely.
Well, that's not a good idea.
People were WITHIN the lavatories? That must have been a tight squeeze
Carry on smartly. I wish I was so lucky as to be able to get a escape to Singapore from the UK. I might be prepared to even risk flying on a Boeing aircraft to get there!
How can anyone be thrown around in turbulence if they had their seat belt on? Sadly, most people dont keep their belts on unless the seatbelt sign is lit.
The light wasn't on so nobody had belts on. Usually if a plane's going into turbulence, the light comes on and the pilot will mention it in good time.
@@johnpoulterive always been taught you should never take your seatbelt off in case of this exact situation
I always keep it on but a little loose so that it dont bother me.
@@johnpoulter You're told to keep your belt fastened on EVERY flight!
@byteme9718 Yes during take off and landing. You don't have to wear it mid flight! How else you gonna get to the rest room??????
Sorry but this is why I have a secret fear of flying.
I want to stay on the ground thank you.
Same. Something is more probable to happen on the ground, but at least you wither die or survive, and that's it. While an accident in the air seems extremely scary as falling down to your death can take minutes or tens of minutes, and if you don't die, you still have to land somehow, totally scared and possibly injured... I've flown 9 times in the last year, 4 of those flights were long-hau, and I definitely wasn't enjoying all that time up there. Seeing the distant lands was worth the anxiety though 😅
No need to keep it secret it's a legitimate fear
Your in a tin can flying through the sky at 500mph should be grateful it landed safe
Seat belts should be worn at all times - maybe a looser one in flight - obviously if you need the toilet then you take it off - but would be a good precaution
Agreed 👍🏻 unless one has to leave his or her seat 💺 people should wear it at all times because I have seen turbulences come without warning ⚠️
RIP to the gentleman who lost his life
You are told to keep your seat belt on just in case this could happen
Rendering relief to all passengers and a coo🌞
This is why I always were my belt, it’s really not that much of a big deal.. not sure why anyone take it off unless you are going to the toilet.
That’s why wearing your seatbelt is important
seatbelt signs were off, but there was already turbulence starting? I don't know about ya'll, but I'm making sure my seatbelt is fastened. Still a good job of the pilots to safely land the aircraft fast
I’m not an expert on these matters, but Singapore responders seem to have been super fast to react & provide support & help & update on the status quo in an efficient & timely manner given the severity of the situation. They continue to do so too.
seat belts exist for a reason
On every flight during the safety briefing it always states that whenever you are seated it is recommended that you always have your seatbelt fastened and the reason for that is if the aircraft experiences suddenly turbulence as in this flight or a sudden decompression. Better to be safe than sorry like some of these unfortunate people. I wish them all a speedy recovery 🙏🙏🙏
Of course, condolences to the gentleman who passed away.
Let us also just pause to spare a thought for any passenger who happened to be on the toilet when it happened..
You have to keep your seatbelt on when travelling in a car for your own safety and I think it shouldn’t be any different if travelling on an aeroplane either imo
...worst day for joining the Mile high club, ever 🥴
Or going for a poo...
This is why you keep your belt losely fastened kids. Wonder if they still turned it round in 30 mins
I use to fly 3 or 4 times a year and any sign of turbulence the captain said return to your seats and keep your seatbelt fastened, yes we had turbulence and once fell 500 feet in an air pocket, but no problems as we all had our seatbelts fastened
Pilots are a lot more easy about turbulence than passengers generally. I was in a wicked Thunderstorm flying from Chicago to California. People were screaming including the cabin crew. But the pilot said he could have flown around it or over but wanted to save time so went through it.
Wow I was on that plane 2 days before that incident
Don't lie
Nice Roblox picture kiddo
It's nothing to do with the plane, which stood up to the stresses very well, it's to do with the weather. The chances of hitting an air pocket like that are vanishingly small and you cant expect passengers to keep their seat belts on all the time. I never did.
cool! what was the registration then?
I bet you all gonna put your selt belt on now init!
There must be something unique to the circumstances which needs to be investigated as I guess most people have never heard of an incident such as this happening previously anywhere.
Bless ❤
Thank be to God and congratulations to the pilots and crew for their resilience and ingenuity in the face of such frightening circumstances/experience on board!
The pilots didn't have much to do with it, just wait for the plane to pass through the turbulence, the autopilot will make any necessary flight corrections
This is very sad.
My ex girlfriend must have been on a flight like that . She had a big gash too
That's why during air travel I never off my seat belt even though pilot instruct to remove. Turbulence are very common.
Always pay attention to the safety process demonstrated by the Flight Stewards and stewardess
I’m suspicious about the cause of this. Seems a lot of strange weather related news is a weekly occurrence right now
Was it aliens?
Planes are designed to withstand turbulence, even if that turbulence drops the plane hundreds of feet suddenly. Most of the damage occurs inside the plane’s interior but doesn’t really affect thee structural integrity and operation of the plane itself
Why were the seatbelt signs not on?
wear your seatbelts people
I think hot drinks should be banned on board. I cannot fathom this happening again; this time everybody is seated, and hot drinks spill all over the place. Nightmare!!
What rubblsh the seat belt light comes on straight away . He doesnt look too injured.

@@sussydogelikesplanes But you should have the belt fastened any time you are seated.

There needs to be a situation with the plane has landed and the seat belt sign is still on and people get up to get their luggage and the plane stop suddenly and people fall over and dies.. then they will stay seated until the plane docks.

My husband is a pilot and he thinks that the pilot went to sleep and fell on the stick and the copilot must’ve been out of the seat at the time he has all his many years of flying ever had turbans like that
I don't know anything about aircraft but that sounds like BS even to my untrained ears!!
Your husband evidently never flew a plane under forty years old with an AUTOPILOT…..even if the scenario you describe happened the autopilot would override it and airliners fly on autopilot all of the time anyway.
Your husband talks rubbish. You are being led astray
your husband shouldnt be allowed to fly if hes manually controlling the plane the entire flight
Was the pilot vaccinated? Did he pass out?
