Algae oil is good, but it's just not affordable for many, 25 euros or so, plus delivery, for like 60 capsules...or something, or perhaps 90, don't remember exactly, amount which goes only for a month is not something people with limited budget are willing to invest in, especially in times like these, more so if you're using other supplements. Now true, i have a lot of chia and hemp seeds in my diet, but for anyone who says ''just take algae oil'', i would have to say no.
Plus, last time i looked, it was sourced from US, at least on iherb,, so for me in Europe that can mean large customs fee, so there's that. If there was any in UK, that would be alot cheaper, but still.

    • @atilacorreia

@@King_Kenlee I've been watching nutrition channels for many years now and there was always the idea in the vegan community that the omega3s should come from flax, chia, and walnuts. It was always known that there was a conversion rate, some doctors saying it was up to 20% on healthy individuals. Nowadays, it is known that the older you get the lower the conversion rate. Then the narrative has changed that you should supplement with algae, which is a new alternative source for vegans.
So, if you wanna waste your youth with this poor conversion, by all means. Also, if you wanna just believe in the pseudo "science" behind a new unnatural algae supplement, please do so.
Now, you can observe a BUNCH of people saying that they had brain fog on a vegan diet, and when introduced fish and eggs the brain fog was gone within a couple of weeks.
Keep following whatever you do blindly, it will work wonders for you.

You didn't address the SIBO issue though. Fiber is what makes it so all those nutrients get down to the intestines, where your gut bacteria eat it. • @Magnulus76

Mic, I made a response on my channel. This video is a huge disappointment as I prefer not to make videos responding to other vegans. But you are spreading damaging outdated misinformation. The video is filled with logical fallacies. Misleading and inaccurate. I hope you at least edit out the blatant inaccuracies. Main points below:
    - As I prove in my video Nikocado was *starving himself on a high fruit diet* hence his low body weight.
    - Nik was eating a low fruit, high starch diet long before “going back” to eating animals.
    - The study you reference for “Fructose Absorption Limit" is using a lab synthesized chemical isolate form of fructose therefore not comparable to whole fruit ingestion.
    The study is therefore invalid.
    - Participants had a dose of isolated fructose solution which is not the same as a day of ingesting fruit.
    - Humans are ingesting HFCS in their foods & fructose in whole fruit with the addition of glucose not a dose of an isolated fructose molecule. The addition of glucose facilitates the uptake of fructose and drastically decreases any fructose malabsorption issues.
    - Regarding Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease... your own study debunked you. The author states *“fruit is not associated with NAFLD”*. The author also has a patent for fructose-inhibitors which means they are biased and have a clear conflict of interest.
    - You cannot use a force-feeding study on Geese to demonstrate the ill effects of fructose in humans. As Dr Greger points out - We are frugivores, Geese are not and have a different digestive process for fructose.
    - In other videos you emphasize the importance of using vegans in studies but vegans were not used in yours.
    - 30 bananas a day is not a diet, it’s a website name. Notice I didn't name it "30 doses of isolated fructose a day" ?
    - The leading dietary risk factor for death has been noted as *not eating enough fruit*.
Responsible for millions of deaths every year. Videos like this do not help reverse that trend, only add to the problem.
Please consider making these changes or removing the video as it is damaging.
    Thanks.

Hello Mic, I know this is incredibly random, but my therapist actually recommended you as a healthy CZcams influencer to watch so I can get some help with my eating disorder. I’m 17 years old, 5’3, and I weigh around 100 pounds. I often feel cold and weak because of my awful relationship and fear of food. Just like anyone with an eating disorder I have safe foods that vegans would eat such as low calorie fruits and vegetables. Because of my high metabolism, the weight keeps dropping off, more and more.. I’ve been on a journey to get better and I’ve found that Veganism would be the best for me as my relationship with fatty meat and dairy products make me physically sick through panic. Right now I’m eating around 400 calories each day and it’s starting to really hurt me. If anyone has any idea on how to slowly move towards a healthy vegan diet from an eating disorder I’d be really grateful.

I am a big fan of Mic, so obviously I recommend a whole foods plant based diet. Also, watch his and Doctor Greger's (nutritionfacts.org) content. Knowing the bredth and depth of health benefits of whole plant foods may soften your anxiety around food. Foods like steel cut oats, beans, and potatoes are super satiating and nutritious and are good places to start. Refined products like white or whole wheat breads can help bulk up your calories but aren't as healthy and could negatively affect your anxiety and fear of food. Hi Mic, I really like your videos and your scientific approach to rebutting the more ridiculous carnist arguments, but I have to respectfully disagree with your characterisation of the fruitarian lifestyle:-
    (1) you make some pretty gross generalisations about the lifestyle (eg that there is a culture of extreme cardio exercise - as far as I know, none of my fruitarian friends, even long-term ones, engage in "extreme cardio") - I think you are actually referring to a specific sector even within fruitarianism (and in particular, a certain group of individuals who shall not be named here lol). Just like veganism, fruitarianism has MANY forms and there are MANY ways to be a fruitarian. No two fruitarians eat the same way, just like no two vegans eat the same way. I think this is relevant to point out, as the vast majority of people are simply unaware of it and comments from respected (amongst vegans, at any rate) channels like yours, leads to further unnecessary (and undesirable!) bias/prejudice.
    (2) This is sort of an offshoot of the first, but regarding the low BMI of fruitarians. I just feel like it needs to be said that, just like there are vegan bodybuilders, there are fruitarian body builders who are able to build and maintain a muscular physique. Just from your comments in this video, you seem to be unaware of this (which is not surprising, as fruitarian bodybuilders are RARE - even rarer than vegan bodybuilders!) Also,
    (3) perhaps you have done this in a previous video, but I would love to hear your thoughts about raw foodism. To tell you the truth, to my knowledge there is a PAUCITY of studies or even ANY significant level of research in this area, which would make meaningful scientific discussion rather difficult, for lack of a better word. I find this lack of research surprising, given that human beings are the only species roaming this planet (other than domesticated animals - which suffer similar sorts of dietary disease as we humans do!) that consumes cooked food. The easiest example I can give is obesity - we simply do not see wild animals (who eat foods in their natural, uncooked form) becoming fat and obese the way that we see domesticated animals (pets, livestock) do. Perhaps we will see more research in this area in the years to come.
I hope this makes sense, and that you take this for what it is intended to be - constructive criticism - and not as an attack. I love your work, your delivery and sense of humour (including your wigs haha!) and your channel.

Would this really cause a fatty liver with whole fruits though? Not saying fruitarianism is optimal but is there really evidence that eating a lot of fruit would cause it? As you said we’re not geese and it’s hard to make a comparison

Fruitarian is the word you're looking for. Humans ARE frugivores, a frugivore diet does includes vegetables nuts and seeds.
