- They grow up so fast don't they? Devil May Cry's Nero has faced overwhelmingly odds in the past, but none as great as this. Today he must introduce his girlfriend Kyrie to the oldest Son of Sparta Vergil. Looks like he may need a hand from his uncle Dante or maybe just his devil arm back from his father.
What family challenges should Vergil and Nero overcome next?

That came out weird considering 'God' in this case in Vergil's father and Nero's grandfather, Sparda.
lol didn’t think of it that way, but then Vergil’s point is even more valid then! Kyrie just so happened to be dating the grandson of God? Her devotion was rewarded then?! It’s getting weirder than the way we wrote it so whichever way you find funnier I’d go with that.
If you watch our first DMC skit, we also mention they worship pineapple as a god so our parody universe might put Kyrie in the clear.
Let me think about this for the rest of the week…

It's even more hilarious for Vergil specifically because he chased Sparda's power and went to Fortuna for research and ended up banging some red woman for a one-night stand before leaving to unleash the Temen-Ni-Gru in 3. It would have been funnier if he said 'She's way too into God. Trust me, I've been there.'

This is a universe where he got upset at Dante having too much influence over his son so he’s stepped in to show his brother he’s a better role model. And don’t worry. Vergil keeps his wallet close to the chest so no child support has been paid… yet.

Yes, that is true. We wrote the dialogue to try and introduce these characters to a wider audience and meeting a girl at church has its own implications lol. The Sparda’s love complicated family relationships don’t they?

Holy moly, production value go BIG up. We're going straight Eddie Murphy mode playing multiple characters in the same scene. Poor Bedlam, I don't know how the heck you got him IN or OUT of that Vergil suit. That thing be SQUEAKIN. (Must be the Inverse Cosplay Law at work: the more uncomfortable a costume is, the better it is. Don't ask me how it works, it just does, I'm not a Scientologist or whatever)
You know I was just watching interviews about the making of Austin Powers where Mike Myers plays half the characters as well. I need to watch some Eddie Murphy movies again too.
Yeah, in the kitchen you can see Bedlam’s shoulders bulging out of the jacket hahaha. I hope leaving the squeaking in grounds these costumes in reality. (The audio in this video got messed up a lot due to mic placement so I had to turn the background noise reducer down…)

Suggestion for bit of improvements:
•Nero's emotions: He's most likely a hot headed deadweight so making him a bit furious like in DMC 5 would do a trick.
•Dante's royal guard after Vergil attempt to attack or stab him
•Kyrie's impressions need to calm down a bit and not too loud, this can match her wife role in DMC 5
Yes to your suggestions! We played up the Kyrie devotion for comedic effect, but she will likely be more level headed now that she’s gotten Vergil’s approval.
Nero will become more hot headed in the following episodes. He’s in the middle of some character growth which we will see in the next 2 episodes.
I will let Vergil and Dante know you approve of them! They are making the Sparda bloodline proud!

@@pirateplace To be fair, if we have to get Bayonetta into account, Sparda's wife, Eva, was an Umbra Witch who was in contract with him, so... Make what you will of that. Nobody in the family knows about that, of course.
It would certainly be weird for Vergil to see Nero date someone from the cult that worshipped his father, but then again, they just met in canon, so...
But to be fair, Vergil was the one that left in pursuit of power, so it's fair to say Nero's gonna be better than his father.
I hope I live to see the day Vergil acts like a real father to Nero in the games. would LOVE to have DMC6 just about there relationship, and its almost a vergil backstory game as we follow everywhere vergil did when he was roaming, and it works as him getting closer to nero via nero learning about him more, but would alos be nice to get more backstory on vergils past and what exactly all he did.
I wonder if DMC6 would be about Nero going to save Dante and Vergil following the events of DMC5. I think they need to make a moment for Nero to fight alongside Vergil in order for them to develop more of a bond.
Or it would even be cool if they remade DMC1 and included his storyline as Nelo Angelo and exploring that.

What an intro! I would argue that if the tag says "Made in China", then it is an Oriental rug. Vergil's new look is quite sharp, though I wonder whether it's warmer or cooler than the old one. Not sure if it's just me, but the camera angles seemed 10% more intense in this one.
I think we are still getting used to the new camera and it’s quite challenging filming in close quarters. (I only have one lens at the moment. XP)
lol I actually got this rug from RugsUSA hahaha. I love this particular shag rug, but now it smells like buttered popcorn! 🍿
Surprisingly, Vergil stayed cool on this shoot, but Nero’s red sweater is pure sweat town! It even has holes in it but it still generates ridiculous heat! I’ll ask Bedlam which Vergil outfit is hotter.

Kyrie’s like a puppy. She has no clue on what’s going on but regardless, she’s being loved. Also, I have no idea what Smiling Friends reference you’re making. Mostly because I don’t watch the show.
Bedlam watches the show, so I’m going to have to watch more to keep up. It’s the part where Vergil says to cut Kyrie loose in that uncharacteristic voice. I’m happy that there’s a happy couple in the DMC universe.

And returning to the new video, how about you add a "secret global-connected plot"? I see your sketches are like episodes of the series. For example, some actions from the one sketch will affect on the next one (example: Dante said he wants to train cooking the food and in the next episodes we see him actually trying) and if to think, it can turn into something very interesting with more ideas!
But still, it's just my thoughts, only you decide what will be in your story. Thanks for replying! Good working time! :)
@@idkboypvp Sometimes we have crossovers between game franchises like DMC and MGS. The next two DMC episodes will be a pair with a connecting story. The only issue we have seen with adding too much lore specific content and overarching plots is that our non DMC friends don’t know what’s going on. So recently we have to keep in mind to keep at least have of the jokes generic for a wide audience. (Ex. Not everyone knows Kyrie and Nero take care of orphans post DMC4) Our hotline videos lead directly to introducing Kyrie, but not sure everyone got that.
We aim to improve our writing, so yes we will include some new over arching plot points. (One being that we will try to make Nero more multidimensional. I will add some attitude to him finally!)

I was thinking even if the church was disbanded, Kyrie might convert the next best thing. Or she might still regard Sparda as her god then she might be really jazzed about marrying into this family.
Nero is played as “good boy” Nero since he really does have a heart of gold compared to the rest of the team. He may also have to be in this happy go lucky mode due to having to be a good example for the orphans. But you never know what’s bubbling under the surface… to be seen in the next episode! Stay tuned! (I also found it easier to act happy go lucky than angsty young man, but I will give the angsty route a go next time!)
Also, thank you for the notes. I want to put as many lore accurate jokes as possible, but when we did that, it isn’t always understood by the wider audience. But that is the balance we are trying to find in our parodies.

about lore accuracy: i don't think that being true to Nero's character as an angsty young man, or have him not like church would be something not understood by a wider audience, though i get the point about the church being disbanded. in general, i think that these kinds of skits are actually a good place to introduce the lore to a wider audience.
there's this series "if the emperor had a tts device" that's set in the who40k universe, and i love it to bits to despite having almost no prior knowledge of the universe, and so do many others.

He’s been charmed by Kyrie. We are going the “good boy Nero” route for comedic effect to differentiate him from his father and uncle. He’s sort of the butt of the jokes at the moment, but we’ll write a new arc for him to be more of the badass Nero once I have time to improve my Nero costume.

@@DevSaBlade I was just thinking we should have Nero do a Smokin' Sexy Style showcase of his moves. The big question is can we make the stunts look good with our small crew and no extras? Comedy is just more cost efficient for us at the moment, but we actually like performing/filming action.
