Thank's Gary this was a so strong and inspiring video... this is a true example of that it's not about of what gear you have at your disposal that makes the performance but it's alla about the capacity of the user when dealing with the limits of the gear at disposal bringing even more creativity to these sessions ...you can really see the physical relation between you and all synthesizers during the performance ....like a violinist ... nothing compared to endless scrollings of VST sound libraries on 24 inches screens in DAWland...thumbs up and keep doing what you are doing because it's outstanding...

Wow thanks Thom - one of the most insightful comments on my channel! Totally agree that the more hands on and tactile you are with an instrument the more you can organically manipulate it. In fact it probably is the case like an acoustic instrument, it will just sit there silent without input - vs say much EDM, get a drum beat going and add a bleep every few bars, minimal input, sounds more machine than man? And as you say a DAW requires a lot more controller input and takes to reach similar results to knob per function mini synths ... also check out my latest from yesterday with a similar setup to this!

I like the future! The kids are alright.
I remember asking Starbucks in Canton Ohio if me and another guy could do a set... We wanted to show off our XP-80s MIDI sync capability and my new Boss Dr Sample... Which actually didn’t sync despite Boss being the same company as Roland. Starbucks confirmed, but when we showed up they changed their minds.
We had to run an extension cord from the Blockbuster Video across the parking lot to claim our rightful place on that slab of concrete. A deal’s a deal.
IWe’re all hacking away at this kernel of truth..spinning out on the joy and irreverance of life in the context of dread and profound loss. Anyway, thanks for putting in the work. Made me smile.

That strymon reverb is so creamy , i dont have the modular , and hardly use my beats but i use the drum ,kik, and fm ,keys in heaps of things, ive heard ppl call the volcas toys but once again i think its about the person making the music not the actual gear so much but sure who wouldnt want a wall of eurocrack and all the elektron goodies , im gunna sub u just because this is good ,nice distant worlds to crystal ice forests .

Thanks Matthew - very kind. Yes I switched the vBeats out for the vDrum a while back, with the vKeys & vMod being central along with vBass and vKick being swapped into the quartet as needed. Thanks for the sub and although I have a few Elektron goodies I almost see playing these portable instruments a different mode of creativity, almost like a responsive acoustic instrument, just go where your mind wants to go. Cheers!!

They can transform any sound into amazing elements. I run my Volcas, MicroFreak, and Boutiques threw the Big Sky, Microcosm, and other FX all the time. I love sampling them with the Digitakt too.
