- Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge both have so much to offer… especially when it comes to wonderful comfort food! Here are our 5 favorite places to eat when we visit the Great Smoky Mountains!

Hi there! We're Josh and Alyssa. We're from a little town in Central Kentucky where we live with our three cats (Lucy, Xander, and Tobey). We've been bitten by the travel bug and have been exploring together for a few years now. Howards steakhouse is the oldest restaurant in Gatlinburg and a MUST...take it from a local who has his own Channel The Gatlinburg'Hussey 😜

Really need to try Five Oaks Farm Kitchen for breakfast. I’ve ate everywhere multiple times and there is nothing that compares to their griddle cakes and stone ground grits.
The best breakfast place is ragens in pigeon forge and for dinner its the apple barn.
Definitely Loco Burro. They added the wine butter sauce to the fajitas, and it is delicious! For breakfast, I’m a sucker for Crockett’s or Five Oaks. They have the best pancakes that soak up syrup
Yes to both Crocketts and Five Oaks. The chicken and dumplings were delish!

We’ve never been to Crockett’s or Five Oaks, but we’re BIG pancake fans! We’ll add those to our list to try!

Great video guys! We've been visiting Gatlinburg since 1992. Rarely a bad meal and the few we had wound up closing business before we made our next trip. Cherokee Grill was said to have the best steaks anywhere and I can say the steaks we had a few months back were the best I've ever eaten. It's a must try for those who dream of a steak made in Heaven.

I Totally agree with All your alls choices for best places to eat. My list is all of those places plus Chesapeake’s!!
We own 2 weeks of Timeshare at Westgate Smoky Mountains Resort and have been coming to Gatlinburg since the 90's. Mel's and the Old Mill are the only Two place on your list that we would even consider to eat at. As far as Mexican food is concerned, you can't beat "No Way Jose" Mexican Restaurant. At Mel's, one of the best things you can eat there, besides main dishes, is their Banana Splits. They are the best!
I am trying to make sure I have this right. You only eat at 2 restaurants in the entire area?

Thank you! The Old Mill gets pretty busy, but I’m not sure if they do reservations! We normally just put our name in & do some browsing in the shops near the restaurant while we wait.
So these are not even close to the "top 5 places to eat" but the important thing to note is these are their favorite places to eat. Again, nowhere near the best places to eat. Here is a better list:
Crockett's Breakfast Camp
No Way Jose's
Local Goat
Bullfeather's
And the best place in town, by far....
The Greenbriar Restaurant.
And if you don't mind driving about 45 min out of town, The Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend might be THE BEST reataurant in East TN.

Now, that's not to dismiss the classics like Log Cabin Pancake House or any of the places these lovely folks mentioned. Oh, Sunliner Diner is INCREDIBLE, too. But, I just think these are better restaurants.

The Old Mill is my favorite place to eat when I’m on vacation. The only complaint I have is that they don’t serve the corn chowder in a five gallon bucket 👍 Now I’m gonna have to try the Loco Burro next trip.

Paula Dean's is very good
I have visited Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge since 1991 and there really are a lot of great places to eat. Loco Burro was a big disappointment for me. The atmosphere was great but the food was just not good which was a big let down for me since I love Mexican food and was really looking forward to trying this restaurant.
You should add 3 Jimmy's to your list.

I'm not seeing anyone carrying a gun in Gatlinburg now that we have open carry in Tennessee.

you are out of your mind to go to local goat you roll the dice whether you're going to get a good meal or not the owners do not care if you get a good meal or not they will not refund your money they will not take care of the problem you are a tourist you will be gone tomorrow
