  • If you have any specific "shaker embellishment " related questions, leave them in the comments, DM me on IG ( your_crafty... ) or email me at BethanyDawn0506@gmail.com! I would be happy to help!
    Supplies I mentioned:
    Bearly Arts Glue: a.co/d/0gAIxoP5
    Art Glitter Glue: a.co/d/09cABmm5
    4 Mil Acetate: a.co/d/0bXsD9h2
    EK Success Powder Tool: a.co/d/053nVPhs
5mm Foam Sheets from Hobby Lobby: www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hob...
    Cutting out your pieces!
1.USING the Base layer metal die, first cut your die out from 110 lb (or at least 65 lb!)white cardstock, cut it from the solid color cardstock or patterned paper that you wish your embellishment to be in and also cut it out of your 4 mil acetate!
2.Next, tape your "layering piece" metal die to it's coordinating to the coordinating "base piece" metal die to form a "frame" with 2 cutting edges! (The outer cutting edge and inner cutting edge, as discussed in the video!) you should try to have the same amount of space between the 2 cutting dies all the way around the frame so you get an EVEN frame!
3.With your "frame" taped together, use it to cut a frame out of 110 lb (or at least 65 lb) white cardstock, then cut a frame out of the cardstock you choose to be the top layer- this is the layer that will be on top & be visible... finally, cut a frame from your 5mm foam! It is VITAL that you only run the foam through your machine 1 time- DO NOT roll it back & forth as it will flatten the foam and it will not line up with the other pieces! Please see video for details on how to CAREFULLY remove your foam die cut from the excess foam!*IMPORTANT*leave the 2 metal dies that form your frame piece taped together and cut those three pieces one right after the other to insure that you are getting the exact same frame shape. (As discussed in video, once you remove the tape & separate the metal dies, it will be near impossible to get them lined up exactly the same way a second time. This is why you should cut those three pieces one right after the other! :)
    Assembly:
Firstly, you will glue your acetate piece to your TOP layer frame (not the foam frame & not the white cardstock frame- but the frame you cut from anothet piece of cardstock to be the top layer!)
Add a thin but consistent line of glue all the way around the boarder of the frame die cut. WAIT until your wet adhesive starts to get tacky before trying to adhere the acetate to the frame! This is important because it the glue is too wet, the acetate will kind of "slip & slide" around and can make a mess! Be patient & wait for the glue to start yo get tacky (generally 2-2.5 minutes!)
Place something with a bit of weight ontop of the 2 pieces you just adhered together to help them bond! (I used my computer mouse in the video!lol)
Next, you will glue your white cardstock base piece to your solid color cardstock/patterned paper base piece! This will make for a nice sturdy base for your shaker embellishment! (White cardstock on the bottom, other cardstock on the top! )
Place something with a bit of weight ontop of the 2 pieces to help them adhere together!
Next, you will add your glue to the back of your FOAM frame and line that foam frame up with the now very solid base piece that you created by gluing the white cardstock & top layer cardstock together!
Line it up the best you can, foam is finicky and has a mind of its own so it will never be a perfect fit. Just do your best & don't stress!
Next, apply your glue to the back of your white cardstock frame , again applying it in an even, small but consistent line all the way around the frame! Wait for the glue to start to get tacky and then add the piece of white cardstock to the top of the foam frame (which is now adhered to your solid base piece!)
Now use a powder tool to help reduce the amount of static that will form inside the shaker- see video!
Now carefully add your sequins & then carefully add a thin but consistent line of glue all the way around the white cardstock frame that sits on top of your embellishment!
Important: Wait for the glue to start to get tacky before carefully adding your framed acetate piece to the very top of the embellishment. This will ensure that it sticks well & doesn't get your acetate smudged with wet glue!
Keep in mind that the foam never cuts out exactly as the carstock layers cut out and therefore, it will not be perfect! Just line it up the best you can & remember to be patient! It is a tedious process when you are first learning!
Now the tricky part; Do NOT shake your shaker for at least 5-10 minutes! This will ensure that your glue is completely dry and no sequins will get stuck on/adhered to any smal amount of glue that inevitably seeps out when you apply a bit of weight to bond the 2 layers together!
