SpaceX Just Did Something Unusual In Florida! No One Did It Before! Musk Reacts...
Considered the most important rocket in the world, the Falcon 9 is the milestone that has ushered in a new era for human space flight.
Recently, it has opened the space fans' eyes even wider when SpaceX just did something unusual that no one has ever done before!
So, what exactly did SpaceX do that was unusual?
Let's find out more on today's episode of Alpha Tech:
SpaceX Just Did Something Unusual In Florida! No One Did It Before! Musk Reacts...
Becoming a norm for SpaceX, the launch of the Falcon 9 rocket is no longer a surprise these days.
A string of successes over a period of time seems to make us forget that this is no easy feat to accomplish. However, if you are a space enthusiast, a die-hard fan of SpaceX, then surely during the recent Falcon 9 launches, we must have thrown celebratory parties.
SpaceX Just Did Something Unusual In Florida! No One Did It Before! Musk Reacts...
First, it is a record in terms of the number of launch missions. With the latest launch of Falcon 9 on April 24th, it has brought SpaceX's total launches to 42 times in just the first 4 months of 2024, surpassing more than half of the total Falcon 9 launches for the entire calendar year 2022.

It will be interesting to see if there is a change in the kinds of payloads needing a big ship vs continuing the Falcon's smaller lifts. One thing that would be super cool would be to create a machine that could act as a service tug to recover or repair satellites. I'm thinking that the Hubble continues to be such a useful telescope, it would be great to have a mission to repair, refuel and perhaps enhance its capabilities. Not needing a re-entry capacity nor any sort of aerodynamic features, the machine could be in virtually any configuration. Maybe with a label stating, "Some Assembly Required"😁

Indeed. I live just up the coast from CCSLC and it seems like a normal things these days to see a rocket launch into space from the front or backyard, or driving around. Elon had a dream and achieved it. I do miss the space shuttle sonic booms however.

Falcon 9 and Heavy will be around passed 2030. It will be the Earths Space Taxi for humans. StarShip will not be human launch until 2030 or 2035 but SpaceX will have humans i aboard StarShip in space but will need to get people to those StarShips. That will be Falcon 9 and Heavy. It is time build a 10 - 15 seat dragon.

Incorrect.. Starship is to have humans on board by late 2026 maybe now 2027 because the artemis program was delayed by a year or 2... that good ole orion capsule needs a total rework. but hey whats new with nasa lol

I admire Elon for making electric vehicles exciting and desirable. Before Tesla, electric and hybrid cars seemed to be made purposely ugly, perhaps to appease dealers who have less maintenance to charge for. I admire SpaceX for their amazing accomplishments in upright landings, one vision of the future we had in the 60s that we thought was relegated to science fiction. The reusability is also to be admired. I just hope we don’t have to sacrifice our democracy to appeal to Elon’s profound lack of understanding of how America works. I sometimes wonder if he paid someone to take his citizenship test. His tweet about how we count the census was so ignorant. The Constitution dictates that every living being in the United States at the time of the census be counted, regardless of citizenship status. Elon’s tweet suggested this was conspiratorial. You can question the judgement of the founders regarding this, you can even suggest an amendment that it be changed, but he cannot turn this into a conspiracy of Democrats. That’s just ignorance. I cannot weigh in on whether Elon is on the spectrum, but he does show enormous surprise that his tweets get so much blowback. He doesn’t seem to understand why, and that is one of the symptoms of being on the spectrum. There is no shame of being on the spectrum, but because he controls a huge social media platform, and because he makes no apologies for his drug use, we need to keep an eye out for his public behavior. His board is made up of friends or relatives he has made very rich. There is no reason to expect them to behave as a normal board. Anyone who buys Tesla stock should understand that. We now know that Thomas Edison was not the pure hero we were taught in elementary school. He was very much an asshole, especially when it came to the treatment of Nicholas Tesla. (Google the fight between Alternating Current vs. Direct Current and what Edison did to promote DC. Nicholas Tesla won with AC.) People do not have to be perfect. But we are facing an unprecedented world in social media. Please also note that Twitter (now X) will suppress any speech that is demanded by autocratic rulers if it might impact Elon’s businesses. He kowtowed to Modi before the Indian elections. He kowtows to China to preserve his Tesla business in China. Regarding free speech, he isn’t an absolutist, he a phosphorescent hypocrite.
