An interesting tip regarding Mordecai. While he is associated with sniper rifles and pistols by default, but i found that he can take advantage of shotguns very well. Particularly, - elemental explosive shotguns. The key here is, that Mordecai can increase his critical damage THREE TIMES. First - the "Deadly" skill - directly upgrade critical hit damage. Second - the "Killer" skill, which generally increases damage after a scoring a kill. And finally - third: there are Ranger-class mods, that boost critical hit damage dramatically. Finally, since a critical hit does increased damage from the get go, - if you keep scoring critical hits - you'll be doing anywhere between double to quadruple damage every time. And what's the easiest way to score critical hits? That's right - SHOTGUN! No pixel-hunting acrobatics, no virtuostic crosshair manipulation - just point in the general direction of the target's head / weak spot and pull the trigger. With all three effects combined, and a good shotgun, - swift rate of fire, accuracy above 50 and an explosive elemental effect (any effect will do reasonably well, but the explosion is instantaneous, as opposed to over time - so it makes a big DPS difference), - you can blast things into pieces with surprising alacrity and impunity. Send Bloodwing to score the first kill and trigger the boost, then follow up shotgun blazing. Out of ammo? Switch to a different shotgun. Between this, and thinning the herd every now and then with a long range weapon of choice, - Mordecai is quite capable of decimating all manner of things with very little effort. And blowing stuff up with shotguns - never gets old.
you can do the same thing with machine pistols like the thanatos and benefit from the gunslinger class mod without fucking your potential revolver damage output
Worth noting that the critical hit damage bonuses from his class mods only affect weapons which have an innate critical damage bonus. Otherwise yes, he can make shotguns work quite well. My most recent playthrough experimented heavily with corrosive and his assassin COM, which felt like it encouraged use of a wider variety of weapons.
Doing a co op run with my son, forgot how much i loved this game its my favourite in the series feels more gritty even if the story is a little lack luster and its missing qol features like fast travel its such a good game and i like how weapons at even the lowest rarity are viable through play throughs
BL1 does have fast travel. It’s not like BL3 where you can fast travel to ur vehicle, ship or other place extremely quick but once you do the mission to turn on the fast travel/ New U network you can fast travel where every you want that I’ve already visited and if you go to a vehicle station you can teleport to ur vehicle wherever you left it over spawning a new one. Maybe the original game was different but the re released version of BL1 has fast travel
It is a good gun,the only downfall is it has no scope. Other then that it's a great sniper it has good base damage and the reload speed is pretty quick.

S&S double. I had one that made a joke of the game. As far as I could tell, it was identical to a double Thanatos, except it used more ammo faster to do more damage. It didn’t hold as many bullets (I think Thanatos could hold over 100, and the double I found held 64), but it still put out bullets faster. It is the only gun I ever found to use repeater ammo faster than it regenerates. There was no point in using revolvers because before I could get a second shot off, I would have sprayed headshots with the machine pistol. Don’t get me wrong, I love pestilent defiler. I was surprised firehawk wasn’t on the list. Or any decent masher was pretty nasty. But that double machine pistol was just comedic
feel like the skullsmasher shoud've been mentioned, as with carrion call skill, ou can basically cooldown bloodwing's attack with every closerange attack - since it fires six pellets per bullet cost, it's insanely useful to get the most out of bloodwing, while having great attack potential.

I love the gunslinger class mods the most but I also enjoy having a survivor in the back pack just in case… self healing is super important especially in BL1 so I would include at least some of that in most Mordecai builds
The Sucker Punch from the Game of the Year Edition of the first game goes extremely well with Mordecai if you are using a melee build. It has 500% melee damage and with the melee bonuses he gains from his Lethal Strike skill, he can potentially deal a mind-bending 1050% bonus melee damage! I've taken down my share of badass enemies in just a few hits with that bonus alone.
i received Liquid Orion on Roland, and am using it, maybe not the best sniper rifle i saw, but it's currtly the most OP i've seen so far, fire rate the same as combat rifle and the electricity shots if you shoot enough you can make your own constellation
Sniper ammo regeneration doesn't work with the Silent Night sniper rifle for some reason but the level 69 version does just over 1K base dmg then if you pair it with correct skill perks you can do 30-40k dmg in the weak points

That's also why Maliwan doesn't make Double Anarchies or Double SMGs (since their SMGs already have elemental accessories by default). 3:35 It's based on Robocop's Auto-9 machine pistol (based on the Beretta 93R) from the original Robocop which was a select-fire machine pistol with a tri-burst mode. 1987 was a good year for movies. another good potential different build is a bloodwing focused thing the ranger com can basically eliminate the cooldown of your action skill, and max out the targets bloodwing can attack whereas the hunter com will make bloodwing FAR stronger and faster, while also making bloodwing heal insane amounts of health, both from a boosted % of how much damage bloodwing does to health, and a 120% ish boost to bloodwing damage from the skill and the com's effect - you can also use the skullsmasher with carrion call skill to basically refund 24/28 cooldown seconds - two points in the lower action skill cooldown skill and you've basically got one skullsmasher shot refills action skill immediately - works even while bloodwing is still out.
They are pretty lacking imo, besides the mashers they have. I prefer elemental revolvers from Maliwan. Also their snipers always have low magazine sizes but high dmg, so I also prefer Dahl snipers or even tourge snipers
I know this is super late but i like using the elephant gun, sledge shotgun, and the ax31 swift masher with mordecai and for the final slot i just use the bone shredder

All I’ve found are two which had explosive elements so I’ve been using it as an extra weapon for brick since it has high pellet count as well as an explosive weapon. Now I need to farm them all huh. Btw use whatever you think is fun cause I’ve used literally anything like double anarchies, or even high fire rate torgue stinger smg’s and they destroy. Hell even sniping is viable with brick just go for stuff with high fire rate and damage you will be fine.

I remember farming cramerax a hundred times to get the best pestilent defiler I could find. It was like 2600 dmg 98.9 acc 2.0 fire rate and 6 mag lvl 69 was never able to find a better one
best defiler is 1.4k/2mag, they cant go higher than level 68 (all pearls cant). max firerate is 1.9. so if you try to BS around, at least look at the wiki and try to make it a believable lie.

Are you talking about the extra stat bonuses from from your mod? You receive the skill bonuses even if it doesn't actually show it in the skill tree, only requirement is that you need at least one in the skill.
I wana play mordecia but I love shotguns. Id pick Roland but his teret ability seems lame considering its tricky because evidently it doesn’t auto ame which means u have to put it directly infront of the enemy
I like the turret since it is a good decoy and although it starts with a long 100 second cooldown, you can reduce that to an effective 35 or so second cooldown.
Mordecai bloodwing sadly at the 1st time i used it i feel i am shooting a guided missile pet that actually attack the specified enemy you want to die then sadly later its the worst option to spent points on his tree of skills, sadly it still stuck in close surfaces also its kinda picky about which bloody stupid enemy it want to kill that actually i was so happy when i killed bloodwing Bl2 that i kinda feel i want to tell mordecai this:come on man i gave you a favor of killing that stupid useless piece of shit get over it.
@Grym Yeah, I loved it the first time it dropped on my Roland and I knew I had to try it on Mordecai and I carried it from level 30 to 44 with little problem
Is there some reason this is in 360p? Chrome and Silk on my tablet won't even play it back and on my Roku it looks terrible. Only on my cellphone is it passable. Edit: Whether you fixed it or Google did, it seems to be available up to the normal 1080p now.
mord was my 2nd favorite char but I just can't understand why anyone would play anything not lilith. bbrick and roland seem to start strong and get weak late game.. mord and even more so with lilith, they just keep getting stronger and stronger
Well.... Maybe people just don't like her playstyle or they might potentially just feel like playing a broken character sucks the fun out of the game. I mean, in Borderlands 2 Salvador is stupidly OP but there's still a lot of people who just don't like him.

@Grym brick was the least fun in bl 1.. it was all lets hide and use guns ignoring the ult except for the hp refill or try to run in and go down before i even get close. Lilith had practically infinite invisibility, killed everything around her often just from the detonation and moved so fast that she'd have a map done and 80% of everything dead by her hand with every other char forced to pick up scraps she allowed them to have because they just couldnt keep up and nothing lived long enough to slow her down. Not going to say it was much fun playing with a lilith team mate but she was a blast to use.

I got so far with a level 22 gunslinger class mod. Reached to 2nd playthrough with a level 29 incendiary viper 😂😂. Such a fun playstyle

Are you talking about the extra stat bonuses from from your mod? You receive the skill bonuses even if it doesn't actually show it in the skill tree, only requirement is that you need at least one in the skill.

I wana play mordecia but I love shotguns. Id pick Roland but his teret ability seems lame considering its tricky because evidently it doesn’t auto ame which means u have to put it directly infront of the enemy
I like the turret since it is a good decoy and although it starts with a long 100 second cooldown, you can reduce that to an effective 35 or so second cooldown.
Mordecai bloodwing sadly at the 1st time i used it i feel i am shooting a guided missile pet that actually attack the specified enemy you want to die then sadly later its the worst option to spent points on his tree of skills, sadly it still stuck in close surfaces also its kinda picky about which bloody stupid enemy it want to kill that actually i was so happy when i killed bloodwing Bl2 that i kinda feel i want to tell mordecai this:come on man i gave you a favor of killing that stupid useless piece of shit get over it.

Yeah, I loved it the first time it dropped on my Roland and I knew I had to try it on Mordecai and I carried it from level 30 to 44 with little problem

Idk y but my Morde has this lvl. 15 Savage Equalizer and it is still pretty viable in lvl. 60
Make sure you drop your borderlands 1 weapons on the floor most of the time the levels are actually wrong and only appear right on the ground. :)

mord was my 2nd favorite char but I just can't understand why anyone would play anything not lilith. bbrick and roland seem to start strong and get weak late game.. mord and even more so with lilith, they just keep getting stronger and stronger
Well.... Maybe people just don't like her playstyle or they might potentially just feel like playing a broken character sucks the fun out of the game. I mean, in Borderlands 2 Salvador is stupidly OP but there's still a lot of people who just don't like him.
@@darthplagueis13 I admit to being one of those that farms with salv some but dislike his playstyle and I get it. different strokes and all but lilith was possibly the most fun fps experience I've ever had so im pretty bias.
@Grym brick was the least fun in bl 1.. it was all lets hide and use guns ignoring the ult except for the hp refill or try to run in and go down before i even get close. Lilith had practically infinite invisibility, killed everything around her often just from the detonation and moved so fast that she'd have a map done and 80% of everything dead by her hand with every other char forced to pick up scraps she allowed them to have because they just couldnt keep up and nothing lived long enough to slow her down. Not going to say it was much fun playing with a lilith team mate but she was a blast to use.
@Grym ha, ive said nothing aggressive unlike yourself and everyone knows brick and roland are the 2 weakest characters in bl. Glad you enjoyed them but I did not.

maybe i'm in love with roland's support based buffs and really like just using whatever guns with him.
I really like the fallout 76 class mode. It's not great but it's cool to play with when you're bored.
Man mordecai is just aboot the weakest character/useless in the entire series right behind Zero, i did not enjoy playing him at all
