Sinatra wasn't too shabby onstage. Shirley Bassey, Sammy Davis Jr, Tom Jones, Rufus Wainwright, Petula Clark, Neil Diamond, Helen Reddy. Good too.

It’s criminal that the MSG shows weren’t professionally filmed. All we have is about 20 minutes of scratchy footage filmed covertly by a fan. And thank goodness for it. Elvis was in fabulous voice and ridiculously sexy as ever 🤗

It's not the only criminal that MSG was not filmed. 1969 Vegas too. But at least we have 1970 August, where Elvis was - I believe - at his peak. That year He had the opening year behind him, He was more relaxed and loose, and sang amazingly.
I agree, but these Super 8 films almost make it more mythical. Perfection.
Among all the Madison Square Garden shows, on this one he had his voice and rhythm at the best of times... Also because of that, it's unfortunate that there was no professional filming...
Why did they not film the whole concert like I wanna know why why it wasn't filmed on the 9th and 10 1972
Sweet Elvis, I was born in Oklahoma 1962. I first fell in love with you there as a tiny girl playing "Return to Sender" from my momma's old vinyl album. She told me you were a poor boy who drove a truck and became a star after recording a song for you momma. A small town girl, I shivered in fear from the back seat of my dad's old LTD driving to Oklahoma City the first time I heard, "In the Ghetto". And on the old dirt roads in Creek County Oklahoma, my dad taught me to drive listening to "Aloha from Hawaii" on his old 8 track. And I was in Drumright, Oklahoma when my heart broke right open when they said you had died. It was like a part of America died when you left us. Inconsolable, after days of crying my dad took me to the drugstore, to wire my condolences to your family as a way to express my grief. I am so glad I was born when you were alive. Still missing you in Oklahoma!

And the "craziest" part is because of how old the recording is Elvis's vocals sound drowned out behind the instruments, but Elvis's vocals live in concert COULDN'T be drowned out! That was his true God given gift....his voice!!

Very simple. It's only your opinion. There's other vocalists who have more range, better voice control, superior pitch and can hold long notes without getting shakey/ raggedy and out of breath at the tail end.

If you've ever watched his concerts notice he looks around at all the audience and is very aware of how he is affecting them or what he needs to do ! He was the ultimate performer! So aware if himself and everyone to give his best at all times!
Towards the end of 72 it was said he couldn’t see past the first row:/ so they had to keep the lights on towards the end of his career otherwise he would just see black!

The Madison Square Garden shows were fantastic! Elvis voice in great shape and he did indeed look like 'a prince from another planet'.
Mom and me were at this concert, Elvis was Phenominal! Yes he sounded Great, no autotune like the fake singers of today.TCB WITH TLC

My cousin, who is 10 years older than me, saw Elvis in concert twice and she thinks it was no big deal. My mother would have loved to have seen him, but she didn't spend on things like concerts I'm glad some of this footage exists so I can see himon my 60 inch tv and pretend.
I tend to agree with your cousin. An Elvis show consisted mostly of nostalgia and the rest covers of songs that were made popular by others. Here he covers a Hoyt Axton song that was a hit for Three Dog Night.
