    Certainly a good showing of how game developers like this can be very helpful and impactful. I imagine this game would become standardized for flight courses. This in VR and HoloLens will be a great experience for flight handling. I imagine Microsoft will try to atleast keep this team for improving this tech.

Imagine a first person shooter that takes place in and around your home town/neighborhood. Now imagine that while other people are racing cars around, while others are flying. Now imagine it all in VR/AR.

What CPU did the older PC you're planning on harvesting RAM from use? It's possible that the RAM you used in your older PC won't be compatible with the required RAM specs for your new CPU and Z390 motherboard. I can check your new motherboard's specs sheet to make sure your old RAM will be compatible with your new Core i7 9700K CPU and motherboard chipset.

    • @metanumia
      @metanumia Před 4 lety

      @@notlegal99 Just be sure to check your new motherboard's memory support list, which should be on the motherboard manufacturer's support site for that part number, for your specific model/part number of your memory sticks. If they're not listed, make sure the performance specifications of the memory are supported by the new motherboard chipset and new CPU, look for the DDR4 CAS latency (timing) numbers (e.g.. 15-15-15), and the voltage (e.g... 1.4 V), and the frequency of the memory sticks (e.g... 3200 MHz). As long as the CAS latency, voltage, and the frequency of your RAM sticks is supported by the new motherboard and new CPU, you should be good to use them in the new PC. In terms of GPUs, it might be wise to buy a lower-performance, lower-cost GPU right now and wait for the next major generation of Nvidia GPU's to be released as the first-generation RTX cards are not that great at maintaining a frame-rate of >60 FPS while real-time ray-tracing in supported games at high resolutions or high graphics quality settings. I believe Nvidia should have added more RT cores to the RTX 1st generation cards. But the next generation RTX cards should be far better at ray-tracing performance at high resolutions. This would also give you more time to save money for a high-end RTX GPU and also wait to see what AMD is offering for their upcoming Radeon RX5800 XT "big Navi" parts. :)

    • @metanumia
      @metanumia Před 4 lety +4

      I would imagine all of the terrain imagery comes from a combination of private satellite camera images, low-altitude aviation terrain camera images, and low-altitude aviation 3D laser-heightmap scan data. So, if a new airport is constructed immediately after the launch of MS Flight Simulator 2020, my guess is that you'd have to wait for at least one satellite and two aircraft with different terrain imaging payloads to make passes over the new airport and then wait for all the collected data to be uploaded to Microsoft's Azure AI servers, processed by their algorithms and software, then compressed/packaged and uploaded into the Microsoft Flight Simulator terrain-data servers before you would see it in the game. This is all just a guess based on my (admittedly limited) knowledge of how all of this simulator's current terrain data was collected and added to the sim.

    • @metanumia
      @metanumia Před 4 lety

      If it's anything like other flight simulators you probably can, but it won't be realistic, visually accurate, or glorified with explosion/fire effects in any way. Also, since this game is highly integrated with Microsoft's servers, I wouldn't try to repeatedly crash an aircraft into buildings while playing as they could theoretically have algorithms that detect which players are repeatedly flying planes into buildings and you might get a knock on your door from the FBI, or the police of whichever country's buildings your crashing into.
