I was just there in October - I think the best part of Dollywood is seeing all the decor at night! The entire place just feels so...wholesome....sadly needed in this day and age.

I've lived in Tennessee all my life. I remember when Dollywood "wasn't" Dollywood. I can remember back in the early 1970s when, before it was "Dollywood", it was "Silver Dollar City", and before it was "Silver Dollar City", it was "Gold Rush Junction". I have so many amazing, happy memories going to all of them as a kid, some with family who are no longer with me and now with my Heavenly Father. Such good times I'll always cherish.

Thanks for sharing. I was there 11-12-2023 and only rode Blazing Fury so I could enjoy all the lights. Saw the Kingdom Heirs, the choir at the church and Smokie Mountain Christmas. I always go in the church to pray for my family and ask for traveling mercies to keep me safe on the way home to PA. At the drone show one of the drones lost power and crashed.

The old house that Dolly and family where raised in was very interesting. Poor and happy as could be.

The lights were so beautiful and that wilderness path was outstanding. I also loved hearing the choir. I heard some of the songs that Dollys just put out. The songs were great. I think you would like it if you haven't heard it yet.
Perfect place to walk around at Christmas time. I liked the carolers.

I have visited DollyWood and I love it. We stayed in Gatlinburg and when we were leaving to go home; we went to DollyWood.
I heard Dollywood is expensive. Disneyland is expensive too. If rather go to Dollywood and pay a little more and feel safe. Too many problems at DL.

@frostyrae....everything is expensive today....Bidonenomics. Amusement parks have always been expensive....tourist traps.
Dollywood is extremely affordable compared to Disney. Tickets, food, and souvenirs are all priced more reasonably.

Thank you. That's good to hear. I live 2 hours from Disneyland in San Diego. I've spent my childhood going there. The cost of getting in is outrageous and too many hazards. 💜

Dollywood is by far the cleanest, PG fun for a theme park. It’s always a great time!!
Pro tip go to the dream more resort to get Cinnamon bread instead of waiting in the long line at grist mill.

I have been to DOLLYWOOD several times back in the day, twice as a guest. We started out at Gatlinburg down the road. One of the most beautiful things you have to see in Gatlinburg is a place called Christmas Village. 🎄 .Dolly is a WONDERFUL person. After I returned to Hollywood, I always think of Dollywood.. Thank God the devastating fire a few years ago didn't do worst damage that it could done. Everyone should see Dollywood at least once..Also Pigeon Forge just South of Dolly's theme park..

This is absolutely amazing! I sure hope to visit there one day. My colleague was there last month and had a wonderful time. My mother would have loved it and the Christmas shop. She passed away in 2010. Thanks, Jordan! ❤️

My favorite part was the Chapel Choir, I'm so glad you left the music in. I grew up in our Churches Youth Choir (High School), there was about 50 of us, most of us all grew up together! Of course Christmas was my favorite time to sing each year!!! This was so special to me!!!

So glad you came to Tennessee! As far as The mountain areas, pigeon forge and Gatlinburg, Asheville NC, that is their big season, oct 1 -Jan 1.
Also Dolly herself rides thru frequently in her horse drawn carriage, during the daytime. Dollywood really expanded and grew a lot when some idiot decided to close Opryland in Nashville. I think Dollywood purchased some of the rides when that happened. I am a native Tennessean, and love our mountain resorts. I hope you’ll visit Gatlinburg while you’re there it’s just about a 20 minute drive.
