    +++WHITE FLASHES BETWEEN SOUNDBITES+++
    1. SOUNDBITE (English) President Donald Trump, NO SUPER
    "Remember this, nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever, came easy. Following your convictions means you must be willing to face criticism from those who lack the same courage to do what is right, and they know what is right. But they don't have the courage, or the guts, or the stamina to take it and to do it."

    2. SOUNDBITE (English) President Donald Trump, NO SUPER
    "In my short time in Washington, I've seen first-hand how the system is broken. A small group of failed voices who think they know everything and understand everyone want to tell everyone else how to live, and what to do and how to think. But you aren't going to let other people tell you what to believe.
    +++WHITE FLASH+++
    3. SOUNDBITE (English) President Donald Trump, NO SUPER
    "When the pilgrims landed at Plymouth, they prayed. When the Founders wrote the Declaration of Independence, they invoked our creator four times because in America we don't worship government, we worship God." (Applause)
    +++WHITE FLASH+++
    4. SOUNDBITE (English) President Donald Trump, NO SUPER
    "You have to do what you love. You have to do what you love. I've seen so many people, they're forced through so many reasons, sometimes including family, to go down a path they don't want to go down. To go down a path that leads to something they don't love, that they don't enjoy. You have to do what you love, or you most likely won't be very successful at it."
    STORYLINE:
    Delivering his first commencement address, President Donald Trump on Saturday urged graduates of a Christian university to follow their convictions but to also be willing to stand up to criticism from others who don't have the courage to do what is right.
    Trump kept to an upbeat message in his first extended public appearance since firing James Comey as FBI director this week, saying the lawyer and veteran prosecutor was an incompetent "showboat" and "grandstander."
    The timing of Comey's dismissal raised questions about Trump's decision, as the FBI continues its investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 presidential campaign that ended with Trump's election.
    Trump didn't mention the fallout over Comey's firing in his remarks to graduates of Liberty University, a Christian school whose leader was one of Trump's earliest and most outspoken supporters during the campaign.
    Drawing parallels to what was widely viewed as a longshot bid by Trump for the presidency, he urged the more than 18,000 graduates to fight for what they believe in and to "challenge entrenched interests and failed power structures." A crowd of more than double that size filled an outdoor stadium on campus to welcome just the second sitting president to address the university's commencement.
    "Remember this: Nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever came easy," Trump said. "Following your convictions means you must be willing to face criticism from those who lack the same courage to do what is right, and they know what is right but they don't have the courage or the guts or the stamina to take it and to do it."
    Trump told graduates to "treat the word 'impossible' as nothing more than motivation" and to embrace being called an "outsider" because "It's the outsiders who change the world."
    Trump, who took office on Jan. 20, also sounded familiar campaign themes about a broken system in Washington.
    "We don't need a lecture from Washington, D.C., on how to lead our lives," Trump said.

    My parents kept me out of the loop for most of my life. They didn't do this because they were hoping to scam money out of me. They did this so that as soon as I came of age, and it was time for me to take the reigns, I would be furious.
    I'm not furious that I had to spend my life working. I'm not furious that I had to struggle (although I do hope to lessen that struggle for my fellow man).
    I'm furious when I walk down the halls of a government building, and can't make it 3 ft without recognizing a name. I'm furious that now, it all makes sense. All the corruption, all the greed, why nothing ever gets done and no one is actually helped? It's because these names I recognize are taking their cut every step of the way.
    Our government, as it stands, is just organized crime.
    Idk, maybe I am getting played. I could be. I probably am.
    I also don't care. This shit is disgusting.
    I know where the swamp is now. If given the opportunity, I promise to drain it.

    • @spencer1980
      @spencer1980 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I don't care about taxes. I'll pay my taxes. That doesn't bother me. That's just part of living in a civil society. We need hospitals and roads and schools, and there will be people who need government assistance. I get that. I'm fine with that.
      I'm not fine with our government being used as a piggy bank for greedy people who don't seem to understand that they aren't "capitalists," they just like being wealthy.
      Maybe I'm getting played. I don't really care. I don't know if I'm a trump, or a biden, or a Kennedy or a fucking Spencer. I don't really care. What I care about is none of this works, and it's because greedy bastards don't want it to.

    • @spencer1980
      @spencer1980 Před 6 měsíci

      I want to pay my taxes. God, the idea that I'll finally have enough money even to pay taxes on? That's never been the case once in my adult life. Holy shit, I am so grateful I even might have enough money to be taxed.
      I'm not okay with me doing my civic duty, and paying my taxes, will get stolen and diverted by these bastards more interested in lining their pockets than helping their country.
      When they shit Kennedy, they didn't do it because he was a threat to the CIA, or because of the Cuban missile crisis, or because he interfered with project northwoods. Nope. The moment he said "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," they were already flipping through the rolodex looming for someone to kill him.
