  • Find out how it works & get your FREE demo here: www.DrumsAnywh...
    DrumsAnywhere will turn ANY surface (e.g. a table) into an 8-Piece Electronic Drum Set. Your Drum Kit will be velocity sensitive and with MIDI output. Ideal for learning drums, capturing drum ideas or just enjoying drumming anywhere without carrying a whole drum set with you.
    How it works?
    1. Attach a microphone into your surface. A contact (piezo) microphone is recommended.
    2. Indicate the position of the virtual drum pads by tapping 3 times on your table
    3. That’s all! DrumsAnywhere software will do the rest. Use a drumstick, a pencil or even your fingers to play your percussion.
    Download a free demo now from www.DrumsAnywhe...

    • Creative uses of Drums...
    Features:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * Velocity-sensitive and highly responsive
    Just like the expensive electronic drum kits, DrumsAnywhere is also velocity sensitive. In simple words, this means that the harder you hit the surface, the louder the drum sound will be. This allows you to play drums very expressively. Capture the nuance and the expressive power of the human drummer.
    * Low-latency performance
    For drummers, low latency is very important. There must be no audible delay between the time the drum is struck, and when the sound is heard. DrumsAnywhere is optimized for ultra-fast response.
    For this reason, ASIO compatibility is provided. DrumsAnywhere will work with ordinary (non-ASIO) sound cards as well.
    * High quality digital sounds
    DrumsAnywhere comes bundled with quality percussion kits suitable for different styles of music. (Acoustic, Rock, Jazz, Epic, TR-808, Classical, Dubstep, Latin.)
    You use your own sounds as well. Your imagination is the limit.
    * MIDI output
    DrumsAnywhere can be used as a MIDI controller as well. It can send MIDI output to the software of your choice (Cubase, Logic, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, VST/AU plug-ins, etc.). Record your performances as MIDI files.
    * Technology
    The heart of DrumsAnywhere is a proprietary algorithm called WaveTrack.
    As the surface is hit, the acoustic impulse causes multiple reflections in the surface. Those are analyzed by WaveTrack algorithm and the precise location of the impact is pinpointed. Only a single microphone is needed.
    If you are interested in using WaveTrack in your application, we would be happy to discuss with you the options.

    Are you attaching triggers underneath the table?

    • @DrumsAnywhereTeam
      @DrumsAnywhereTeam  Před 8 lety +1

      +Rim Shot No. The innovation of DrumsAnywhere is that you need only just one (1) piezo microphone in order to have 8 virtual drum pads. The software can tell position you hit just by analyzing the audio. No need for separate triggers for each pad.

    • @bruteforce3170
      @bruteforce3170 Před 8 lety +9

      That literally does not make sense.

    • @devinphares2369
      @devinphares2369 Před 8 lety +7

      How doesnt it? Or are you logically disabled? Sound is a wave. Waves bounce off of surfaces. You dont need to actually mark anything, its just so you can remember where each pad would be. I can only assume that set up would be required each time you hook it up. "select pad one. Hit pad one location" you hit the spot where you want it to be, and the microphone can pic up that specific wave, and the angle that it comes into the microphone. And by setting each pad in the system, each time you hit it, the analysis software can then acknowledge the differences in the wave structure of each spot on the table, and produce the sound from that, "pad" in accordance with.
      If you dont believe me, go find a table, take a pencil or something of the like, and with the same amount of force hit the table in a bunch of different spots. The sound produced from each spot will be different. You can hear it with the right ear.

      As the surface is hit, the acoustic impulse causes multiple reflections in the medium. Those are analyzed by WaveTrack algorithm and the precise location of the impact is pinpointed. For the first time, only a single sensor (microphone) is needed.

    I think this is a really cool idea! I just have a couple of questions: 1.) Is there a certain radius that you hit or do you have to hit exactly on your marking?
    2.) Can you do more complicated beats like a drum roll and that sort of thing? And 3.) Is there a way to calibrate it to where you can have a drum sees ion with your friends on the same table? Like, for example, three snare drums on the same table? Thanks! 👍😁

    • @DrumsAnywhereTeam
      @DrumsAnywhereTeam  Před 9 lety +1

      Elijah Masterson 1. The active radius depends on type the surface you use. In most cases, there is no need to be very exact with your hits.
      2. Yes! DrumsAnywhere responds very rapidly. You can play complicated, very fast drum patterns without a problem.
      3. Yes you can place any instrument at any position you wish. So three snares at different locations is perfectly possible.

      Yes you can. However for better results we recommend a contact microphone.
      You can find many inexpensive ones (under $5) by doing a search for "Acoustic Pickup Clip Contact Microphone" on ebay. Alternatively you can find one at your local music shop: ask for a contact microphone for acoustic guitar.

    how can you accurately trigger those separate sounds with one contact mic?

    • @DrumsAnywhereTeam
      @DrumsAnywhereTeam  Před 8 lety

      +Dustin Smith That is exactly what DrumsAnywhere software does. As the surface is hit, the acoustic impulse causes multiple reflections in the medium. Those are analyzed by our software and the precise location of the impact is pinpointed.

      This is a new technology developed by us during the past two years.
      As the surface is hit, the acoustic impulse causes multiple reflections in the table. Those are analyzed by a complicated algorithm and the precise location of the impact is pinpointed. Only a single microphone is needed!

    • @VstromVroomer

      DrumsAnywhere DrumsAnywhere shouldnt you need really sensitive microphones and at least 3 mics to triangulate the position where the sticks are hitting? Also you would need information about the material ... i dunno... i looks and sounds kinda fishy to me.... EDIT: It seems thay I was wrong, it really works...u just need a good mic...

    • @DrumsAnywhereTeam
      @DrumsAnywhereTeam  Před 9 lety +6

      It is just a ONE piezo microphone. DrumsAnywhere does the magic and gives you EIGHT (8) pads.
      See our website for an explanation on how this works.

    • @VstromVroomer
      @VstromVroomer Před 9 lety +7

      Well i can explain it in simple terms, because the surface cannot be perfectly even and homogenous, it makes slightly different sounds in different spots. When you run the program you tune each drum for the spot and when the program hears that specific sound it plays the sound.

    i dont understand how this works..unless u place pads in the spot u wish each drum/symbol to be at?like there has to be some way for the app to know what spot your hitting on the table besides just a mic being clipped to it

    • @DrumsAnywhereTeam
      @DrumsAnywhereTeam  Před 9 lety

      Before using any surface, you have to "train" the software in order to learn the position of your drum pads.
      This is done simply by tapping a few times at the position you with to place your virtual drum pad. This is all DrumsAnywhere needs to know in order to detect your hits later.

    • @johndevries637
      @johndevries637 Před 9 lety

      Wrong. "Time of flight". Unless your material is perfectly homogenous you'll find that any two spots can, with the initial 'tuning' (training of the electronics) it will have the distances recorded and you've already determined where a given location so it plays the proper sample for it. Presumably, when you hit it harder, you get a higher impulse response and the microphone just passes that on to the device. Actually, I was expecting there would have to be two mikes for spatial orientation, but apparently they've solved that problem. As noted by the actual & professional drummers by this time, there wouldn't be the same aesthetic feed-back to your hands because EVERYWHERE is just is as hard as anyone else and hitting a cymbal feels a lot different than hitting a tom...
      Zoz the Freep - lots of rhythm but absolutely NO sense of timing (as my dum and bungle corps fiend used to say.)

      DrumsAnywhere is better because of:
      -No extra hardware
      -You can use anything (e.g. drumsticks) to hit the surface (not only conductive items)
      -Velocity-Sensitive Drum Pads: Play Naturally and Expressively.
      In simple words, this means that the harder you hit the surface, the louder the drum sound will be.
      -MIDI output
      ...and the list goes on! see www.drumsanywere.com/

      This is how our software works. As the surface is hit, the acoustic impulse causes multiple reflections in the medium. Those are analyzed by WaveTrack algorithm and the precise location of the impact is pinpointed. For the first time, only a single sensor (microphone) is needed.

      +Exotic Gamer I'm guessing it knows what sound to play based on what frequency is picked up by the microphone. Like if you knock on a table in different spots it will make different pitched sounds.
