Same happened to me I made a purchase at a convenience store and he stole my debit card info and it ended up in the hands of criminals thankfully I was proactive. They also failed at card skimming, phone number porting and the list goes on. Very important to notify Canada's 2 credit reporting agencies, Equifax and TransUnion when you realize you are a target of fraud.

We should fight back by being sneaky too: have a lock on a mail box (slot to drop things in, but hard to get out without a key), carry a dummy wallet in a purse and the real one in your pocket with a little bit of money in it (or other pocket) so you can hand them the wrong one, don't have parcels dropped off on your porch or remove them promptly, lock everything away plus keep car and home locked securely...
Learn to be slightly abrupt or rude on the phone and have a phrase ready or say I do not give out personal information over the phone, and think before you start shutting off your common sense because you are panicking. Think about scenarios before they happen to be prepared. I do not start preparing for a house fire when it is already in progress.
I bet this was the video Dwight showed Jim to show that identity theft isn't a joke and that millions of families suffer every year.

You also have to be careful because they if you invite somebody into your home and you don't know him they go through your paperwork searching for social security numbers or anything of your background if you don't know them this is not acceptable behavior too when people are careless they don't stop and think when they invite a stranger into their home as I have you end up losing everything on your background cuz I go through your paperwork thinking that you're trusting them and they take advantage or take it for granted that they have the right to use you anytime they want including our kids are stealing our social security numbers to use us to pay their light bills and otherwise which is not acceptable behavior by adult children because the government has gave them the right to rub as of identities including your property deed running up bills and making us pay the consequence by showing that they can humiliate parents by doing all sorts of things they've been asked by the government to do to their own families which is neglect and abuse they have lied about the truth of keeping us safe and our children are unsafe in the hands who claimed they uphold the laws to protect our children it's innocence using them as a go-between which is a true Factor but the cops tonight that they've done any of this asking our children to go rob homes cars and anything else all it takes is an investigator to go in there and look around and see it for their self that there are misconducted police officers involved they also know about the drug trafficking there were cops in the past two sexually assaulted underage minors and got away with it what does that tell you when they destroy videotapes of sexual assaults in motel buildings by a motel manager getting away with it and covering up the truth of these hidden Acts that happened at the golden Knight motel years ago back in the 90s this has gone on for decades and hidden acts of flies there was a town owner that used to own the state of Oregon knew about sexual assault on young girls in the past his wife came out and talked to me about the situation she said that her husband was in the wrong for violating the young girls in the state of Oregon what does that tell you about the hidden accent were covered up by the government just during the lives of innocent young girls and boys stealing their innocence by having them raped and assaulted on purpose and drugged stealing your identity stealing your life and exposing the humiliation they did to your children by p**** on tape selling them destroying the life of a child's innocence really variates me that the government is sick and sitting there calling other people mentally ill cheating at schools after sexually assault and children including the Barlow area raping young girls throwing their clothes all over the countryside they're panties their jeans they're underwear their socks anything they for leaving them to walk home with nothing on how do you explain it do you call these women and men humans I don't I call them a bunch of wild animals because all they think about is one thing and they don't care about kidnapping children and stealing the life of your child's innocence including their identities after sexually assault and then they beat them or they hurt them real bad kids don't believe it today it will happen to their own children's identities as well and what they'll live is what we lived

Identity theft is on the rise and it could be because of light sentencing. In some states sentencing may be two or three years maximum. The mandatory minimum sentencing should be 10 years before being eligible for parole. If these types of sentences were enforced, it's likely we would see a significant drop and identity theft. "Enforced" is an important concept, because in some states, there is not much of a deterrent against serious crime.

Did you check on hand forgery when somebody forges your name to see if it matches up to the other person's handwriting forgery is a very serious crime when somebody forges your name to checks or any paperwork they should be penalized but they haven't been my older brother for State checks in the past and got away with it all because everything had to go his way everybody has been forging out there for Jim checks forging identities or Jean driver's license forging birth certificates altering birth certificates changing the whole outlet selling birth certificates for 40 million also altering birth certificates to be the same so that other people can use you even cops do it even your family siblings do it they get away with altering your birth certificate changing the numbers on it changing who you are and living and sleep by denying the truth that they did something wrong to an individual's background very serious corrupted crime of police officers misconduct of using an identity that did not belong to him to destroy the life of an individual out of a revenge due to a family sibling telling stories in them not checking the facts family siblings will also destroy our background by using our identities without telling us beating us down with humiliation thinking it is funny to use and abuses to hide behind and innocent bystander when they have a criminal past
