I was suicidal for a long time because of my seemingly chronic illness and depression due to it..I believed I'll never recover and get healthy but Alhamdulillah I have recovered and enjoying the best of health now..now I have the will to strive for a great life and follow my ambitions..All I can say is that there is hope..
Hey... I'm sure there was a Hadith that has a Dua to curse depression & anxiety. I don't clearly remember it but you can search it up. It's worth a try! May Allah make it easy for you

I have been through enough suffering and pain in my life and I am currently writing this as I'm in a major dip and feel completely drained from life again. that’s my case, i suffer from depression and anxiety due to chemical imbalances in my brain. it’s not caused by external triggers like most mild case, it’s something i have no control over and i extremely suffer everyday especially because how the muslim community views mental illnesses as either demonic possessions or no faith in allah. this is why i find this verse contradicting as god created me and and millions more like this with a chronic illness, and yet tells you committing suicide is a sin and you will burn in hell for it. i already am living in hell anyways so if there is hell in the afterlife honestly i do not care no more. praying won’t cure me, but it may help. The only possible cure are psychatric meds which come with extremely horrible side effects and are basically a hit or miss depending on how lucky you are. religion is good and helps but isn’t the only solution, education is far more important imo, as ignorance and religion are a dangerous combo. in order to prevent suicide we should look more into educating mental health and de stigmatizing it, and invest more in research for better meds. But never going with the religion route alone to a person suffering from a mental illness. Think about it like this, you can’t tell a person win cancer to “just live” or a person with a broken leg “it’s fine just walk on it”.

I had similar experience I think, I was hospitalised and I was under therapy for one year. All this experience is still mistery to me. My honest advice is to try to sleep well, get off the social media, TV, video games, try hiking or something similar. Zikrullah and Salawat surround Yourself with positive company... When you guys really think about it, suicide just wouldn't end well...Like there are many many ways to die. But dying with your last deed being a major sin (suicide) just can't be good for you in any way. The bad deed is a deed you can **NEVER** seek repentance from because you are dead. -------- Please know that NO pain, NO suffering, NO torment, NO agony, and NO hardship you go through in this life is equivalent to a second of being in hell. I’m depressed right now in life. May Allah make my life better. I’m so sick and tired of my life problems and family problems. Wallahi I wish I wasn’t even born to experience this and I fear that the future will have bad days like I had.

This is because of the remembrance of Allah which the Quran talks about. So, while ensuring your place at Jannah, this with the right mindset 5 daily prayers is a cure for depression in this life and will ensure success in this life and the hereafter. You just need faith and tawakkul in your lord, Allah.
Is it just me, that finds this disturbing? Someone already going through pain commits suicide, and the Merciful Allah causes the person more pain in hell?
We have to remember that Allah is so merciful, that his mercy should outweigh any reason that we feel suicidal or want to end our suffering due to. It’s not easy at all, sometimes if feels like you cannot go on, but there’s always hope and Insha Allah it gets easier.

I have had suicidal thoughts since I was 11, I have always wanted to do it. I tried twice, yet failed. I still do feel this way. Ever since i started listening to Rukaya i've been thinking of it less and less. I now know the weight of what i wish i could have done. Thank you :)
When exams are more difficult then Examiner is more generous in marking the test. DO what you CAN even if it's very little and pray for forgiveness for all Muslims as it's a very big deed with very small effort. Judgment belongs to Allah so try not to judge but if you have to then be merciful without being unjust because that's what we want for ourselves. And Allah knows best. I ask Allah to guide, protect and forgive myself and all Muslims and Muslims to be. Ameen
I'm trying really hard to not fall into the traps of my brain which is screaming at me to end this meaningless life of mine. Telling me my family & this world will be better without me. I've to keep reminding myself that this life isn't the main thing. These materialistic things that society pushed on us shouldn't be my concern. Everyone’s suffering is different. What if a person is not depressed but rather suffering from severe illness where he/she is suffering? I’m sure God will forgive such person given the difficulty and suffering. It’s easy to preach and say things unless you’re in that person’s shoes.
yes . me too i have very severe chronical illnesses and disabilities due to violences and abuses . i dont sleep since 2 decades. i am not joking. i sleep max a couole of hours per night . i wonder how i am still alive after all this. pain is 24 /7 but and i am inable to do almost anything. in addition i have a condition in my muscles that give me severe discomfort in any position itry to be . that is why i cant sleep. I cant imagine how ALLAH SWT will not forgiive me considering thet i keep enduring any sort of tortures for decades. But since i cant be sure ...i cant suicide

The answer is we don't know, I am not encouraging anyone to suicide, but from my experience with talking to suicidal people the feelings they feel, the level of loneliness they feel it's really really hard, God said there's a major reward for people who have patience and most suicidal persons only do it after being patient for years, I think that the all merciful will show them mercy and we should ask him for showing his mercy upon them, after all they're not against Islam, we should say Allah yerham

Also there are specific sorcery to make you have mental illness like burying the sorcery in the graveyard to make the person think of death all the time etc. Also evil eye when someone receives it because of the beauty they are showing off etc, it drains the person and it changes his ways, for example if you are a track runner and you beat a record at your school for example and people start praising you, if someone is jealous or has envy about you, you will not progress anymore, you will feel more tired, you won’t be able to beat your record etc. This is where ruqya [healing with Allah words] comes in. The whole idea that we will be held accountable by the most loving being for a life he built for us that we live for 70-80 years for all of eternity is insane. Compare a lifetime against eternity, that’s like saying you stole a pack of gun you go to prison for 1000 years.
Oh and some friendly advice here: Consider grooming your beard and keeping it tidy by combing it, and by applying some oil or conditioner. It is Islamic to also look presentable and if you're going to appear presentable in every other way (such as in clothing), then you might as well do so also in terms of how your beard and facial hair appears. If you're going to come in front of a camera to give a speech, people don't want to see you untidy.
You must be focusing on beards and the issue of the beard didn't arise- I find people with beards leave their hairs all over the place including the sink!

Allah made clear If Allah wants to forgive He will simply forgive all sins, but if you die as a mushrik he/she will never taste the smell of paradise, but even if you are mushrikin and repentant before you die, he/she will enter paradise. Allah says triumphant are those who turn to their Lord in repentance before their casket closed.

There might be exceptions, it's not all about 100% right and 100% wrong. Allah is the best judge.
that’s my case, i suffer from depression and anxiety due to chemical imbalances in my brain. it’s not caused by external triggers like most mild case, it’s something i have no control over and i extremely suffer everyday especially because how the muslim community views mental illnesses as either demonic possessions or no faith in allah. this is why i find this verse contradicting as god created me and and millions more like this with a chronic illness, and yet tells you committing suicide is a sin and you will burn in hell for it. i already am living in hell anyways so if there is hell in the afterlife honestly i do not care no more. praying won’t cure me, but it may help. The only possible cure are psychatric meds which come with extremely horrible side effects and are basically a hit or miss depending on how lucky you are. religion is good and helps but isn’t the only solution, education is far more important imo, as ignorance and religion are a dangerous combo. in order to prevent suicide we should look more into educating mental health and de stigmatizing it, and invest more in research for better meds. But never going with the religion route alone to a person suffering from a mental illness. Think about it like this, you can’t tell a person win cancer to “just live” or a person with a broken leg “it’s fine just walk on it”.

I had similar experience I think, I was hospitalised and I was under therapy for one year. All this experience is still mistery to me. Everyone’s suffering is different. What if a person is not depressed but rather suffering from severe illness where he/she is suffering? I’m sure God will forgive such person given the difficulty and suffering. It’s easy to preach and say things unless you’re in that person’s shoes.

yes . me too i have very severe chronical illnesses and disabilities due to violences and abuses . i dont sleep since 2 decades. i am not joking. i sleep max a couole of hours per night . i wonder how i am still alive after all this. pain is 24 /7 but and i am inable to do almost anything. in addition i have a condition in my muscles that give me severe discomfort in any position itry to be . that is why i cant sleep. I cant imagine how ALLAH SWT will not forgiive me considering thet i keep enduring any sort of tortures for decades. But since i cant be sure ...i cant suicide

The answer is we don't know, I am not encouraging anyone to suicide, but from my experience with talking to suicidal people the feelings they feel, the level of loneliness they feel it's really really hard, God said there's a major reward for people who have patience and most suicidal persons only do it after being patient for years, I think that the all merciful will show them mercy and we should ask him for showing his mercy upon them, after all they're not against Islam, we should say Allah yerham
I'm not encouraging anyone to do this but I always have these same thoughts in my mind about them.., as we know men aren't not made with same IQ level/ same patience level, May Allah forgive them with His endless Mercy 🤲.

1) سُبْحَا نَ اللهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَخَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ. Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, ai’dada khalqihi, wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘ar shihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi.
Reward: Recite 3 times = 6 hours of Dhikr
2) رَضِيتُ باللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيناً، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَى اللَّهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيَّاً Radheetu billaahi Rabban, wa bil-'Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallama) Nabiyyan. ((Three times))
Reward: Allah has promised that anyone who says every morning and evening will be pleased on the Day of Resurrection.
6) اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ Allahuma inni as alukal jannah Meaning: Oh Allah, grant me Jannah Reward: say 3 times and Jannah itself will ask Allah to grant you Jannah
7) اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلَّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ Allahumma salli wa sallim 'alaa nabiyyinaa Muhammadin Reward: The Prophet saw said: "Who recites blessings upon me 10 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening will obtain my intercession on the Day of Resurrection.”
10) بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الَْأرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ Bismillaahil-lathee laa yadhurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-'ardhi wa laa fis-samaa'i wa Huwas-Samee 'ul- 'Aleem Reward: Recite 3 times. Whoever recites it in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity before evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will not be overtaken by any calamity before morning.
11) حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَآ إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ Hasbiyallaahu laa 'ilaaha 'illaa Huwa 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Adheem Reward: Allah will grant whoever recites this 7 times in the morning or evening whatever he desires from this world or the next.
12) اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِر لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ Allaahumma Anta Rabbee laa ilaaha illaa Anta, khalaqtanee wa anaa 'abduka, wa anaa 'alaa 'ahdika wa wa'dika mas-tata'tu, a'oothu bika min sharri maa sana'tu, aboo'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa aboo'u bithanbee faghfir lee fa'innahu laa yaghfiruth-thunooba 'illaa Anta.
Reward: Whoever recites this with conviction in the evening and dies during that night shall enter Paradise, and whoever recites it with conviction in the morning and dies during that day shall enter Paradise.

Narrated Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever intentionally swears falsely by a religion other than Islam, then he is what he has said. And whoever commits suicide with piece of iron will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell Fire." Narrated Jundab the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said: My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him."

@@aruuu6040 I never claimed that but the jinn takes advantage of that mental illness inside you and makes it worse, and harder for you to heal. Also there are specific sorcery to make you have mental illness like burying the sorcery in the graveyard to make the person think of death all the time etc. Also evil eye when someone receives it because of the beauty they are showing off etc, it drains the person and it changes his ways, for example if you are a track runner and you beat a record at your school for example and people start praising you, if someone is jealous or has envy about you, you will not progress anymore, you will feel more tired, you won’t be able to beat your record etc. This is where ruqya [healing with Allah words] comes in. It is Islamic to also look presentable and if you're going to appear presentable in every other way (such as in clothing), then you might as well do so also in terms of how your beard and facial hair appears.

You must be focusing on beards and the issue of the beard didn't arise- I find people with beards leave their hairs all over the place including the sink!

Allah made clear
If Allah wants to forgive He will simply forgive all sins, but if you die as a mushrik he/she will never taste the smell of paradise, but even if you are mushrikin and repentant before you die, he/she will enter paradise.
Allah says triumphant are those who turn to their Lord in repentance before their casket closed.
They say life is test. But I didn’t ask to take it. I would rather be the dirt in the ground.

I have a word of advice for you. It is good to see you walking on the same path of your father. But you don't have to follow his weaknesses. I can accept him having problem reciting with Tajweed, because he has uttering problems and maybe it was too late for him to perfect his tajweed skill. But you are Young and fit mashaallah. You should recite like a pro inshaallah.
