Last couple videos have been fantastic. Love seeing all this stuff I never knew about.
Glad I can share!
I love cherry grove, especially in the morning
Me, too!
I grew up Crescent Beach in North Myrtle Beach. My sister, Wendy and brother Chuck Siceloff, when they were kids in the middle 60's rode their horses over to what we called hog island at low tide.
Fantastic, so many wonderful places to see in a Kayak. Going to check those tours!
I think there are a few companies that do it, shelling tours too!
Thanks for taking us along! Beautiful! Loved the crabs hiding under the tree! So cute!
Yes, there were lots of them!
We had a house in Cherry Grove in the 70’s and we use to go to the island to find sand dollars for our Christmas tree. There were huge sand dunes back then and we never saw anyone on the island when we would go on our family adventures and some great crabbing. Extremely fond memories.
Been there several times, beautiful place. Nice vid, thanks. As for the one thumbs down, probably a landlubber...haha
Wow! This place is beautiful. Our family may just have to do this next time we’re in the area. And I love the crab! Well, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Absolutely paradise!!! It’s very hot out so no better place to be than by the water!!! Love seeing that 🦀 crab!!
Yes, I’m ready for this heat wave to break!
Thank you for your adventures video tours. Very much appreciated by us people that are contemplating myrtle beach as a retirement destruction.
You are very welcome! I’ll continue to invite you out with us through these videos.
@@MrMyrtle a continuous👍
I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. I am a native of S.C., and never heard or seen this beautiful place. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it
Same here, PI every year, never heard of this OR the jetty at Huntington Beach. The jetty isn't even written about on any signage, etc. It's as though they DON'T want folks to know.
One of our favorite places to fish. Be cautious if crossing at low tide. Once the tide turns, in comes in rapidly and can be hazardous. There have been several drownings of unaware tourist. My husband and I have assisted several families that have become stranded on Waites Island due to high tide. Stay safe everyone!!
Good to know!
Nice and relaxing. Love the crabs 🦀
Hi MBV: Such A Beautiful Area There/Quiet & Peaceful,So Nice,Enjoyed,Video Just Wasn’t Long Enough :-| But Thanks For Sharing :-) NC
I've never strayed far from MB or Murrells, so these are interesting. I always thought about staying at a beach a little further south from Myrtle some time.
I honestly rank Myrtle Beach proper as the least desirable place to be on the Grand Strand.
I never knew that place existed, nice and quiet and peaceful
Looked like a beautiful day. We are going to try the jet ski dolphin tour this year.
Nice!
Thanks for the video. Couple of quick questions. Staying in Cherry Grove in a couple of weeks. I’ve stayed in the townhouses at the end seen in your video. (Loved the large peninsula.) This time, we’re staying in a house just south of there. If I remember correctly, there is a public beach access right at the end of the road where the town house entrance is, correct? I have a kayak cart that I could pull to the inlet without having to drive to your access and paddle a mile. Is there any good fishing you’re aware of in that inlet? Or should I paddle on out to the ocean and fish along the beach and up to the waterway jetty? Thanks!
Cool 😀
Next time you're in Cherry Grove checkout Heritage Shores Nature Preserve. Was there for 2 hours during July 4th weekend and no one was there.
I have meant to for years and have yet to do so.
@@MrMyrtle first time I've ever seen oysters spit. Got there at low tide while the tide was coming in
I have seen that at Murrells Inlet. It is very neat. I’m going to go there soon, though!
Very nice
Fantastic video!
Thank you!
I've been there a million times crabbing
Get closer every day. Leave for myrtle in 4 days. Yet another fantastic video mr myrtle. What was your first video you did about myrtle beach?
The first video on this channel originally was about an abandoned boat on the side of the road 😄
Kool gonna have to go watch it
ya'll only made it to the back of the island, still beautiful but beachfront is where it's AT!!
Was not aware. Cool..
Yes, very serene. Don’t tell anybody! 🤫😀
My wife and I have wave runners. We like to ride chill. How is it over there. A place to chill on the beach where it’s nice and Sandy and clean.?
Awesome video! Can you do one at Hogg Inlet? I used to hang out there, beautiful spot also.
The inlet we were on in the video was Hog Inlet.
@@MrMyrtle wow, nice! It looked a little different from the kayak view. Thanks!
I’ll take more video next time we are out there!
So did my baby brother and sister with their horses in the 60's. Rode over to Hogg Island.
Sweet vid....
Thank you!
@@MrMyrtle you have shown me and the wife many extra thing to do,this was just another great idea..30 days and counting.
Hope you have a great trip!
Me and my family arrived in Myrtle today and we are staying for the whole week I will release a video of the whole trip when me and my family get home on Sunday
Have fun!
@@MrMyrtle usually me and my family go to Ocean City Maryland every year and I have a few videos there
So can you get to it from the end of poo the road goes past Harborgate, etc..forget name..Anyway drove back that way exploring few yrs back and there's a sign Waites Island.
I don’t think you can use a car though… I read you can only get there by water vehicle, possibly being able to swim/walk through the water during very low tide or on horseback.
@@MrMyrtle gotcha..you'd sure have to watch the tide if walking it
I am here in North Myrtle Beach for the next two weeks. This looks like fun! I am scared to death of alligators and I’m wondering if there are any in the water there??
I can’t say 100% because I can’t guarantee anything 100% but highly highly highly unlikely. Alligators actually do not tolerate salt water.
Alligators don’t have salt glands but do go back and forth between fresh water and salt water. They eat crabs and rays among other things in in salt water. I’d be more concerned with bull sharks. They can live in brackish, fresh or saltwater. However, I wouldn’t let the fact that these animals are the Myrtle Beach area impact your trip. It’s where they live.
Just a heads up, the pronunciation is Wait-eez
I did realize that after this video was posted. Ha ha. I never heard it said out loud so that was my best guess.
What type of kayak did you use?
You can use any type of kayak… I have an inflatable one and I also have a regular hard shell one.
No where to access the island by vehicle. Some university feels the need to own the entire island and keep anyone else from enjoying it.
Made a baby on that island....good times
This is private land and unless you have permission pretty sure you really shouldn’t be there.
It is advertised to visit the island and there are no “no trespassing” signs. As long as people are respectful of the property there are no warnings against it.
It is private if you are entering by land, not by sea.
