What a most pleasant trip through my hometown! It's so good to see the whole town has not fallen to ruin, but the people are proud of where they live. It just goes to show you what a town can be like. I was just so impressed to see ALL the buildings and homes looking so beautiful. I left there when I was eight years old - 60 years ago, and have made a couple of trips back, but not for many years. My grandmother owned 1769 House on route 15 close to Winfield. It was built in 1769 though, sadly, torn down in 1967. It was the oldest house in Union County. My grandmother was an entrepreneur and ran a restaurant at the house I believe in the 50's. If anyone has one of her dolls (made by Mable Fetter) it would be a special - she was also an artist. My grandfather was a house painter. I heard Bechtels Dairy is no longer there; a sad loss. Thank you SO MUCH for letting me see some of the places that made some of the best memories of my life! Gail
