I am glad i throw down my sulpher and potassium potash in the fertilizer spreader....makes it easier only having to worry about half the fertilizer in the drill
Thanks for taking time from your valuable sleep and duties to update us Mike. Drive safe.
You're welcome 🙂
I appreciate all of you guys!
@@mikemitchell2554 NH3 Mike all this fert trouble be a distant memory. The advantage over dry especially in north country is endless! The only biggest catch is your supplier has to be on the ball.
@@chadkubashek4622you are missing the point. NH3 is nitrogen. It's not P,K,S. NH3 would just be another problem to deal with. It's just a royal pain in the ass.
Does the saquash hang out in the Canadian plains or do they stick to the forests?
I used to plant flax which had emergence issues in clay hard pack. We went from 7 in spacing drills to wider spacing 10 12 and 14 in putting more seed in the rows planting a bit heavier rate then the new seedlings would pop the crust worked very well
I can't make it on 5 hours sleep, I've got to have 7. I salute you sir for being able to grind day-after-day on 5 hours of sleep! /SALUTE
3 hours of sleep is my minimum. I've gone on 1 or 2 hours of sleep but it sure makes for a rough day.
your a very brave man holding the conveyor remote over the filling tank un-attached to you....
Hey Mike. Did you remember to close the lid on your remote control compartment? I know I’m 20 days late in checking. sorry! Thank you for all the good you grow!
Would he have needed to turn the fans back on?
90+% humidity and 5-6c, sounds like a west coast winter!
I'm not even a farmer but I love this channel
Always appreciate seeing what you do and how cold it must be. Wish I was there to help ❤
If this was me, I would have a small camper with me and sleep in the field
The semi has a sleeper on it. Here's an idea, use that!
@chipmunk94 he's probably done that before but nice to go "home" and take a shower and make some food for the next day!
Working until 1am and being back by 630ish does not allow time for 5hrs sleep, showering and preparing the next day's food.
That, shower after long day is awesome.
Mike why not get a small bumper pull camper and stay out in the fields during seeding? If you’re only getting 5 hours of sleep, not spending an hour driving to sleep would help?
What about shower food and seeing the family?
We utilise the sleepers on the trucks occasuinally to get sleep during busy season.
I appreciate your positive attitude and being genuine of who you are! You provide a lot of great information in your videos of real life as a farmer. Curious of how many acres you will plant this spring? Thank you for all the videos!
Thats the reason we went to all liquid fert. And anhydrious ammonia eliminates to fertlizer handling issue and cost is better
Ever thought about a DIY plugged line monitoring solution? Taping a cheap microphone on each line at a bend (so that the flowing fert/seed will hit the walls around that location making a loud sound) and connecting them to a couple esp32, audrino or other dev board should work.
The sound should be easy to differentiate between product flowing and plugged when programming it.
When i get called out in the middle of the night i just sleep at work. You need a camper to stay in so you can just wake up and hop in the tractor.
just the scale and effort / contribution it takes to run an operation like yours ... hats off to all the crew and you Mike! 💯
Mike you cleaned the lens on the camera, now do your glasses.
U need to get a set of chute openers. Makes life much easier filling drills.
Glad to hear ur getting rain at the south farm !! Hope u don’t have to reseed anything !! Enjoy ur videos n go enjoy ur rest !!! Farm hard pray harder !!
Thank you for sharing
Go Oilers!!
Salut Mike magnifique vidéo et bien intéressante 😂😮😅😊
The majority of the moisture is going to the lines that plug. Reduce/trap the moisture, lines stay clear
Keep going Mike, it’ll soon be over and your hard work will come through the ground
Would love to see you with a demo Xerion 😉
Mike get some electronic cleaner or something like maf sensor cleaner. Try spraying the crap out of the sensor when it's doing this let it dry and try it again. It may cost a few extra minutes vs just changing it out but may save a ton of money on sensors. Just my 2 cents worth a shot.
So rain really can wash out seed in the ground? I'm in iowa and we had a uhuge storm come through maybe a few days after, the field in front of my house, got seeded. It flooded my front yard even my leechfield so looking at it I was wondering because there's definitely areas that probably lost 2 inches of soil
morning
Hi Mike, dont you use the S23 Ultra? In my case I can toggle the flashlight just like on the older models with an on screen button. Works in every mode for me. Is everything updated?
Mike are you satisfied with the way the Case tractor is pulling the Bourgault air seeder? I just believe from watching your videos it doesn't appear that the Case is doing a good job on the hills. Stay safe and May God bless you and your family and farm.
Are those fertilizer prills only nitrogen?
Are you getting close to being done seeding?? Since this video was recorded 2 plus weeks ago I'm guessing your close or now complete?? How's the crops look with all the rain??
👋🏼😎
Hey Mike, Isn’t it a shame that there is always something to take the joy out of life. Either it is too dry to grow crops, or too wet for equipment to work properly.
Just one drill at your North farms ?
what phone are you using? I thought the same thing on my iPhone 14 when I switched from the iPhone 8 but I figured it out after a few weeks.
Are rotary hoes used much in Sask for hard crusted over heavy soils that need to be loosened up? Thanks for the video.👌
Nope. There is almost none in Canada. Nobody want to touch there ground with tillage to dry it out at all on dryland
@@Brobro449 If you have hard crusted soil and crop can’t poke through a rotary hoe just allows crop to get through crust no tillage involved. And yes there are lots of rotary hoes in Canada.
@@duncanmcleish3683 Yes i know. I think they are heck of alot better idea then reseeding the crop
@@Brobro449 They are used here in Ontario a lot but maybe not in Sask.
@@duncanmcleish3683 Im in southern alberta haven't seen one here
I wouldnt be losding dry fert if you wasnt going to seed it right away
9:14 ya have a flash on ya phone you can use while recording Mike 🤣, Ah you swapped phone yeet, Thought you were still on Samsung lol
Stream jet sol 32!!!
Can you not increase the speed at which the alarm goes off?
How come you don't use shifts during seeding? Do you just not have the guys for it?
Awful lot of 90 degree bends on that seeder and cart. No wonder the combination is a “meat grinder”
