- UPDATE 10/04/14: I found a way to keep him where I live. I had originally smuggled him into my apartment and had kept him as a secret while I tried to find him a home. I subsequently gained permission to keep him...as an "exception" to the rules.
His official name is Pasha...not Shithead or Tom as I had originally dubbed him. I gave him this noble name as he requires that I worship him for at least 1 hour every evening when I come home before he will allow me to go to sleep. LOL
His days are now filled with love, leisure, play, food abundance, air conditioning/heat, and....snorting high grade and concentrated cat nip. :-) He is also developing a bit of a belly so I might need to get him a personal trainer. :-)
ORIGINAL VIDEO DESCRIPTION (11/13/13):
I have seen this feral cat for a little over a year. He was a small kitten last Winter (2012) and would run out into the road late at night in front of my van. His big head bobbing on his little body as he ran. I would often throw scraps of food out of the window of my van in the general area where he seemed to always jump out on the road.
He began to show up around our building last Summer (2013) and I began to leave food for him around our dumpster. He has come closer to me over time and I have always spoken sweetly to him from afar as I placed his food for him. Always trying not to move too fast or directly toward him so as not to frighten him. It has taken a long time to get him to trust me at shorter and shorter distances.
He is really beat up and is quite thin so I decided to try and trap him so that I can get him to the vet. I signed out a trap from the Hot Springs (Arkansas) Guardian Angels Cat Rescue on Saturday, 11/8/13, and have been trying to trap him since Monday (11/11/13).
I finally got him yesterday evening (11/12/13) and it was a good thing because last night was below freezing. He also has a skin condition all over which has thinned his hair giving him minimal insulation against the cold.
But I didn't exactly trap him. I think he might have actually trapped me (see the event @ 8:05 minutes in the video. :-) Anyway, we went to the vet today 11/13/13 and got him fixed up (neutered, wormed, vaccinated and treatment for the skin condition).
Pets are not allowed where I live and our company is a food manufacturing plant so we cannot have animals inside (I made an exception last night)..Guardian Angels Cat Rescue is at capacity and the Hot Springs Animal "Shelter" is a KILL "shelter" so they are absolutely not an option.
I have paid the vet bill and will give this young cat to a loving and healthy home without charge in the Hot Springs, Arkansas, area if I can find someone who wants a wonderful cat. He is absolutely NOT aggressive and has not bitten or intentionally scratched me. This little guy has experienced a hard first year of life and deserves a better shot.
11/17/15 I am very sure that feral cats process and interpret our vocal tones, moods, movements (slow vs sudden) and actions with particular emphasis on softness and consistency in their acclimation process to us.
There is no doubt in my mind that they can read us early on. The question as to how fast they acclimate to us lies entirely in our own behavior with them over time and the degree of patience we are willing to dedicate to them.
I have a cat that was thrown out of a car as a kitten. I took her in and she went for the litterbox first and then the food, I still never figured out why she was discarded. She is the perfect cat. She does have some abandonment issues but I love her and she is now the queen of the house.
You are awesome, thank you 😉
This morning I took my cat Annie to the vet and I adopted another kitten. He looks like her with a different face and he is 12 weeks old. Since Annie was there I got to show her the kitten and see if she likes him. Tonight I had to separate them or they would have played with each other all night! I am just too much of a softee for a kitten so now I have 2 in the house and 1 I feed outside. They give me more love than I could ever give them.
nicholascremato. You're a good person with a big heart!
Lourdes Pena Thanks but there are plenty like me.
She was discarded because there are a lot of assholes in this world Nicholas.
You can judge the nature and of a man by the way he treats animals. You did marvelously!
if people were that nice to each other there would be no broken homes
My black cat was a rescue. He's an incredible companion that surprises me everyday. I think rescues are the best because they somehow remember the life they had compared to the one they can enjoy now. And a life with someone who cares about them is what they deserve. Nice video man.
Awww you captured the trust moment on camera!
Plus your land lord is cool to let you keep him.
Not to mention your boss for allowing you to catch him.
Bless you. Men who love cats are great men!
:-) It's good that I am the boss. So, I authorized myself to catch him at the business. LOL But I think the cat caught me....not the other way round. :-)
equarg ''let'' suggesting all of humanity are children. This term and issue is Very-Unjust,especially for owners who consider their cats are children and family and sacred, and have proof that their responsible owners,in apartment homeliving.if someone smells piss-which i never have, only in a townhouse did i experience that, then warn them, out of all my cats not one sprayed indoors, except a black ''bear'' who adopted us,and our female black and white cat-aurea.he stayed in my basement window well the remaining month and a half of winter, during the night this was his bed,i kept the window cracked,as it was super warm down there with three large heat vents blowing and the boiler.I put a soft blanket in there and covered the top of it so he wasn't covered in snow as i first found him.I could'nt get him to come in,but i fed and watered him closer and closer to the steps. One day in spring he was comfortably rolling around in my back patio,i said this is my chance and surprised i was very gingerly and pensively able to string a flea collar on him,as he was in a very good and relaxed mood?I let him in a bit later and he ran in my basement where the litter box was, until i had a vet neuter-Discount appointment at the humaine society, for low income,he sprayed only twice, probably due to nerves. And infested my basement with fleas, but this was the best situation to keep him contained,i thought the collar would work, but until i noticed the infestation, then i just used flea body powder and let them out for the room spray, then after i just washed it out.So this is just one way,a homeless cat can be handled and what can happen if you don't check or coordinate your appointment.Trapping would have been 'safest' or most optimal but i was on a waiting list which could take up to a month,i called them and advocated for him, right before he came in,just due to the fact that he wasn't just some regular cozy secured housecat and therefore a more special, detrimental case,he could have brought in fiv!And i got him bumped to the top of the list in a week, for him and worrying that he'd spray again and neighbours could smell it through holes.Thankgod.could've went smoother though. He was the best boy and never sprayed again.his cracked paws were a real 'treat' when he always liked to sit with me on my chair and massage my lower collarbone area, and sleep, brought me much needed peace to my literal soul.called him-C or D,either one!He deserved a better life.👿👿
I love how you went through all that trouble to help out this cat. Shows character.
thats obviously not a feral cat but a very nice man anyway
how much time per day did you see the cat?an hour or two?
its not feral. it has been around humans before as shown by the way it pushes into your hand when you pet it. it knows what to expect . even if a feral cat were to approach a human for whatever reason - it would shit its pants upon being touched.
Thats awesome buddy...Warriors look out for others... Love that big heart of yours...
You're a good person we need more like you out there
i feel bad for the other kitten that cat hangs with
Vet receptionist- "Do you have a name for the kitty?" Randy- "His name is Shithead" ROFL. Keep up the good work. Seeing things like this restores my faith in humanity :)
You're a good person, we need more people like you in this world. Even the cat sensed you're a good person that's why he walked up to you. Thank you for saving this poor animal.
You have a great day sir.
i had a cat just like him, black, feral, cuddly. got hit by a car. the driver didnt even care enough to stop and check on his collar to find my phone number on it.
Sad... I am sorry to hear that.
@Deadviper So sorry to hear about your cat my friend, I lost a yearling kitten the exactly same way 6wks ago!
Was so bloody heartbreaking! My thoughts are with you my friend! Xoxoxo Leenz 😘
Mr. Morris, I promise you that what you did for this Cat will come back to you ten fold.. Such a loving man you are. Again, Thank-You 💖
Owning a feral cat can be very rewarding, but they are a lot of work at first. I rescued a tiny, maybe 2 month old kitten from a feild when I was at a bonfire. Everyone had left except myself and my brother and a few people, and while they put the fire out I could hear this loud, agonizing crying. I thought for sure since we were close to the highway it was a hit cat, as I have rescued one before. Luckily it was just one little girl, so very thin, but exceptionally friendly. I believe because she was starving that she let my brothers girlfriend pick her up and she didn't try to run. She purred and purred and I had a dog seat in my car from my pup, and once she was placed in it she laid down and purred herself to sleep for the ride home with me. She followed me inside from my garage willingly, and I will never forget the first time she ate wet food. She didn't stop crying until I put the plate down, and then she tried eating the food so fast I was afraid she was going to break her teeth smacking them on the plate. She then slept beside me in the dog carrier, but would walk around and cry loudly every two hours through the first few nights for more food. It took her awhile to get used to the litter box, she did poop on my spare bed and clothes I had to throw away. My cat I had already wasn't quite sure of her, almost scared. I found out quickly she was deaf, so it made it difficult to tell her no and get her to stop doing bad behaviour. She goes absolutely bonkers at least 2hrs a day, climbing my furniture, curtains, screen door, Windows, heck even try's to climb the walls! But I read online feral kittens aren't allowed to play much, because it's dangerous in the wild and so the mother scolds them, so that when you rescue them and they realize there's no danger, they go wild! It's very much true lol. She also kicks her litter everywhere, dumps her food dishes, knocks over the water bowl (loves water!) and has broken a few things. I wouldn't trade her for the world though :). She has been with me for 2 months now and I no longer have to carry her to the litter box, and have managed to get her to come to me by tapping my foot on the floor. And she still doesn't know how to eat properly but she's no longer the deathly skinny dirty mess she was the first day. My other cat even cleans her and they snuggle now. My dog loves her too, all 3 play together chasing in circles in the backyard. That was a long story sorry lmao
this is so heart warming! so often people are cruel to cats especially black ones
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this. Bless you and yours. Peace.
Our neighbor brought home a tiny black kitten and then moved away the next week leaving the kitten to fend for itself. Very scared, she lived under our deck for several days. I used the same combination, cream and canned tuna, to gain her trust. Now she is our cat, Bimbo. Great video, thank you for your kindness to this animal.
I rescued 3 cats pretty much the same way, they had been abandoned as kittens and I immediately brought them home. They all lived a blessed life for almost 20 years. I cannot explain how much joy they brought me :)
why the fuck would you name her bimbo?
Because her other pets were already named Dildo & Buttplug.
Good answer. 😂
Lol!
You were totally adopted at 8:05 what a display of acceptance I'm glad you captured the moment
You are a lovely caring man, a true angel. x
Susan Girling I second that 💗
First of all, God bless you and thank you for doing that for a stray and hungry cat...there are too many of them and I hate to think about any animal starving or being cold. I have two stray cats that would for sure be dead by now if they hadn't come to me, but they are both fat and happy now (I've had them for years), and that makes me so happy. I love them both so much they are my sweet babies!!! :D I feel like too many people don't give enough sympathy for the plight of animals even though the plight of humans is bad enough! We are all in a hurt of a mess! :/
Also proving that we all just want a little love... :D
Oh yeah and animals know...especially cats, they know when you are a good person to trust. Their instincts are much better honed than ours. Wow! What a beautiful new friendship and thank you for sharing!
+Kim Erickson I got my 2 cats the same way, they are so spoiled now:) I absolutely know they know who they can trust. I was so happy to read he got to keep this cat, they were meant for each other!
Elizabeth Adams hhffggvghydfgjug
I got four, 3 came to me and one 15 year old was adopted from SPCA, a day later and she would have been put down. All they want is Lurrrrve. :)
It's people like you, that make the world a better place!
this fuckin guy lol. "you lil love sponge" great job
I giggled at that too lol
Jon Sands - Great name for a band.
haha yeah hes a sweet guy. the way he spoke to the cat was hilarious
how is the kitty? do you still have him? i think you should keep him :)
Armontek Gaming I do the same thing when my dog, maddy, takes a dump in my room. XD
BEAUTIFUL video, I hope you and Pasha have a wonderful life together!
Ugh, I love this video and the way you talk to the cats!
SmexyHinata13 maybe because he speaks "stupid" like you
The Legendary Chest It is really sad to me that my video, which did not actually and actively seek you out, would justify or provoke the reaction from you that it did. I have been the recipient of these kinds of posts (and much much worse) from time to time within the last 3 years since I posted this video. My immediate question in my mind regarding your post was, "Why?". Your post immediately causes me to wonder how anyone who displays kindness and compassion can be viewed with such contempt as you seemingly displayed. My second thought is how difficult it would be for me to want to hurt someone who obviously hurts to see others (animals or people) unjustly or even sometimes justly hurting. And my first impulse regarding your post was anger and a desire to defend SmexyHinata13 and myself from your attack with a "scorched earth" counter post. But I know that there is nothing in my video that could offend anyone and I know that neither I nor my empathetic viewers who choose to post deserve to be accosted or belittled in the way that you and others have attempted to do.. So....what is it inside of you that compels you to do this to strangers? What trauma or intimidation is triggered when you see and/or hear someone (especially a male) displaying sincere compassion and vulnerability? I do not hate you and I am not attacking you for your post as I am fairly certain that your post has little and probably nothing to do with me or SmexyHinata13.
??? Someone deleted a post?
I was driving home after a long day of doing stuff, driving home the car in front of me throws a kitten out the window, I pull over and pick up the kitty and took him home.
You're a great man Mr Morris. I wish there was more people like you. ♥
ditto! great guy!
Danielle Talley I know this video is old, but I am seeing very current videos. First, just want to say that you did a great humane service for this cat. Second, any chance you can give us an update on this precious lil Shithead?? Lol. 9/27/2016.
It wasn't me that uploaded it. :)
I thing this it so touching I feel like crying......😭
Danielle Talley . I agree with you.
I rescued a tiny Orange kitten that I found huddled, stunned, and with blood leaking out his eyes, ears, nose, and anus on the blacktop in the cold rain
Still had blue eyes and I doubted he would live the night. So I grabbed him before he was ran over and gave his a short warm bath, wrapped him in a warm towel, and put him in a covered carrier.
To my amazement he survived the night. I had to run to work but left some wet food and water.
Got home and he still did not leave his towel bundle.
Gave him a 2nd bath and removed a butt load of flees. Finally got him to nibble on some wet food....mostly licked the gravy....but ate a few solid peices.
He became fast friends with a black female kitten my landlords ex brought me. Having 2 cats already I raised them till big enough to spay and neuter. The humane society was pleased I did this and I learned they were adapted together a week later since they had bonded so well.
+equarg Good job 😊✋🏼
Thank you!
Is he still happy and healthy
+junk junk Yes. And much calmer now.
You are a great man. My love to you and yours.
This is a sweet video, but he's definitely not feral. He has had human contact at some point very early in his life. There is no way a feral would have done that.
Yes, a feral will do that, given enough time, kindness, and love. My two 13 1/2 year-old recovering ferals will attest to that. No human contact before four months, still can get scared by a gust of wind, but very loving. They are indoor-only and glad of it (apparently they both had enough of "out" in four months to last them a lifetime).
There are many challenges when you take in ferals, but every time I see another little leap in confidence, even after all these years, it makes it all worth it. That's them in my profile picture.
That wasn't first contact, he said he was trying to feed him and interact for a month and a half before he was able to get him to cooperate
Can people please stop confusing stray cats for ferals. I work with ferals. They can not be tamed. You can live with them in your house at your own risk, but they can not be tamed. And they live a life full of anxiety and fear. You make people complacent when you claim strays are ferals. Just because it has been living on the streets does not make it feral. A truly feral cat will rub its nose right off in a trap. When they see you they will turn themselves inside out to try to get away.
He was likely born from a stray mother, and had contact with humans since he was young. Thats a stray. Thats a street cat. It is not feral.
Again... unless you live with cats that would attack you rather than let you touch them... your cats are probably just street cats.
Not true my mother and I trapped a feral cat who now is the most sweet kitty but it took ALOT of work and time
so yes it can be done
never say never
Adventure Some I've made ferals tame lol
Dude, you're an ANGEL. If only everyone in the world had your compassion, what a world it would be. Thank you. 💖💖
Wow. I loved this video. I know I'm late to the game by about 3 years, but I just wanted to say, thank you for uploading. I really enjoyed this. :)
I trapped five ferals myself and kept them. Mine were approximately 8 & 12 months old, and truly feral, born wild to feral mommas in the woods behind my apartment, so I was the first person to ever handle them. One of mine died of kidney disease when she was about two. The vet said he suspected she'd gotten poisoned by antifreeze while she was still wild.
This cat in the video doesn't appear to have been born feral. He came around too quickly. i think he was handled as a kitten, but then dumped very young probably. Which is why, once he was inside and knew he had no escape, he gave up and came to you.
My ferals each came around eventually, and allowed me to pet them. The first time they purred for me gave me such joy. One of them became affectionate within a couple weeks, and I was able to pick him up in another couple months. His brother took a few weeks longer. A slightly older, unrelated female took nearly a year before she'd willingly let me touch her, although if she was in a small space, she'd submit to being petted. She was just terrified the whole time. But I kept at it, and eventually even she purred for me. Her brother's purr sounded like a rusty chainsaw. Very loud and rough. They lived the rest of their lives as indoor pampered pets.
love people like u wish there were more!!
Thanks. I had been feeding the feral cats ouside our apartment and was looking into spay & release programs to help knock down the population when the apartment got a new manager. He said he was going to shoot the cats. So I trapped all I could. Other residents helped and got some of the others. We saved all we could. I never meant to keep so many of them, but once I had them and they began to slowly trust me, what else could I do? They gave me a lot of love and joy in return.
The cat was completely feral and born to a feral mother in the woods nearby. This cat had never been touched by a human being and that was the point of the video in the first place. What you conveniently watched was the culmination and result of extreme patience in consistent feedings at a consistent place and time each day over many months and also the slow and deliberate acclimation to my voice whereby I would spend 30 mins talking to him from a distance during each feeding and shortening that distance incrementally over time.
Randy Morris Ah. I stand corrected! :)
Having done it myself, I can attest to the fact that they're all individuals, as my ferals each came around in their own time and their own way. I did much the same thing as you did, spending hours out alongside the strip of woods the ferals lived in, sitting on a blanket, reading a book nearby, when I'd bring food. I gradually moved closer and closer to where I fed them so they'd get used to my presence. I ran out of time when we got the new apartment manager who hated cats and he threatened to kill them all.
I really loved your video, and applaud you for a job well done.
Randy Morris, I reported that sick fuck's posts.
Oh I love it that you talk baby talk to him... what a sweet sweet man you are. :)
Omg look at that tail! It's like twice the length of his body lol so cuuuute!! And u r so sweet with him I love it :)
NY cat has no tail.
*my
My little ones were the same as kittens. It usually evens out as they get older but it is suuuper adorable.
Melissa Serenity true lmao haha
Melissa Serenity I was amazed at the length oh his tail as well
You are awesome. I too feed each and every stray I come across and panic if I don't see them around for a while. It's so sad how many lovable passionate kitty's are stray.
Im a 44 yo cat loving man and this made me cry, thank you.
you are not the only one
SutekhAeon I love your User picture!👌🏼
Stop crying and get out there and save as many as you can by trapping them, neutering them, giving medical care and finding a home for them.
I have been saving heaps of them in past few years, I'm amazed at how many people just dump healthy, loving cats when it's no longer a convenience for them to have them.
Some people at an ARC center a block away feed stray cats that then come down the street and shit in our yard. We've got a child that has low resistance to illness of any kind. We've "relocated" over 20 feral cats so far. Feces problems have dropped to near 0 incidents per month. Last incident was over a month ago. That's down from about 4 or five new scats a day. It was horrible and revolting to be forced to clean these messes up. Worst was when the child would find one on his own and come up with feces on his hand or on his foot. Also, we have more song birds around now. I've also saved heaps of cats for relocation to a special paradise just for cats. I call it cat heaven. It's an area where cats are dropped off in the country. An old lady feeds them. They fight, fornicate and infect each other with their diseases and stay in that one area for the food and water as San Diego is a harsh place in the surrounding hills. None have ever come back from there.
John Knoefler Yeah, I can see many cats crapping in your yard is a problem. I wouldn't like it. But, don't forget we caused this problem of stray cats by abandoning them, and allowing them to proliferate by not neutering them.
I'm so glad you found a way to keep him. If ever a cat said "You are my person, I want to be with you" it was him. It's so nice to see other people taking strays and feral cats for treatment. Well done you.
Bless your giant heart for being so sweet to a stray, Mr. Morris! Thank you for showing me that there's goodness in humanity still!
Anybody who helps feral cats is a friend to me :D
The good people who care enough to help the little ones, who can't help themselves. Absolutely wonderful!
This is very similar to my experience! I fed him twice a day & then it happened. He is now my home buddy. He has no fear of people now. He jumps on every available lap for a little rub & love. He has gone through a huge transformation. Love.........................
both of my boys were feral too. Omg they are the MOST LOYAL and lovable cats ever. They DO respond to tone much more than domestic cats. ♡
I love the way you talk, I could listen to you for a long time! Thank you for saving Pasha!
+QueenTrista That is such a sweet thing to say.Thanks. Where are you from?
+Randy Morris You welcome. Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe.
+QueenTrista I lived for about a year on Patriotske lige in Sarajevo right next to the stadium in 2000. :-)
+Randy Morris oh, nice! I hope you have good memories of the place and people. :) Do you plan to re-visit?
+QueenTrista Yes. I have wonderful memories of particular people and places and I am in contact with them constantly. I come back to Europe once every 1.5 to 2 years. Last time was Prague and Berlin. This time I thing Budapest and Sarajevo will be where I go. :-)
that cat adopted you! That has happened to me twice in the 20 yrs I've owned my house that a feral cat decided to adopt me and both times I wound up with the best cat I could ever ask for. They were my 2 best buds, never wanted t be more than 5 feet away from me and they brought me a lotta happiness
Well that was quite gracious and kind of you to take in the cat. To give him a home and take care of him. Living on his own that cat would have lived about 5 years. With your generosity, he can expect to triple that if not more. Excellent!
You are an angel for rescuing him. God bless you
Hey dude, my salute to you for going extra length trying to sort one stray cat, and also glad that you have now adopted him, how could you not have, man you have true heart, just wait and see how the cat will bring blessings to your business.Good man.
It was amazing he came to u. I won't lie I cried because it was truly beautiful. You are a good man. I currently have a 3 week old orphan feral kitten. He is the sweetest baby. I just found him yesterday evening. He loves his cuddles and his kitty milk. To know he trusts me is so wonderful and beautiful.
Natasha Fann I think you are right on, Natasha. To earn that trust is amazing isn't it? :-)
Randy Morris I do really think there is not a word to even describe that feeling because it is just purely out of this world to know that a beautiful creature trust you with life itself. Man aren't we so lucky to have such wonderful creatures on Earth to bond with. 💝
Animals know, they just know the good and bad of us....
If you ever have a black cat cross your path, KEEP IT and treat it well. They bring you good luck!
I cannot tell you how much it warms my heart when a man shows this much patience and love to a cat. :) I, too, have rescued ferals. The reward they give is unmeasurable and so worth it. Thank you so much for saving this fur baby.
You rock, sir. Thanks for a reminder this evening that humanity isn't doomed beyond hope. So glad to read Pasha's happy ending. You guys belong together!
I am not sure if you are a Mam or a Sir from your username but I am totally with your sentiments. And I thank you, Mam or Sir for taking the time to say that!!!
A man is at his best when he is gentle and patient and just plain kind to things smaller and weaker than himself. Thank you sir.
I've been setting out food for a feral cat that is very fearful of anything, it runs as soon as I open the door. The very difficult life that these animals lead makes you want to cry at times.
That's very cute. Some cats, even feral ones are starved for affection, and when they realize they can get it, they just melt. I went EIGHT MONTHS trying to rehabilitate a traumatized feral kitten who would lose her bowels if I even talked to her. It was the hardest thing I ever did, but one night she jumped up on the couch with me, really afraid, but she wanted to be close. I pet her, she got scared, but then she relaxed. 10 minutes later she was bunting my face with hers, and she ended up turning into the most affectionate cat I'd ever seen. It just takes some patience.
Does he have a name sir?
Yes, his name is Shithead.
Omg that was too funny!!But I want you to know that I think you're an amazing humanitarian Randy! This video touched my heart so much. All that time and effort you put in was a heartfelt, selfless act. I would love to treat you to a fancy feast if I'm ever in Arkansas(or if you ever visit Pennsylvania). Thank You for being you, because you equal AWESOMENESS!!!!
💙😻💚😼💛😸💜
Well said Jacqueline, my thoughts exactly x
Thanks Paula! They do say "Great minds think alike".😄😃😁
At least he didn't name it Hugh Mungus.
that "shithead" bit is a line from a movie. a dog started barking near a hotel and one of the guests thought he was warning that there was a fire, so he woke up everyone yelling fire, and giving the dog credit for being a "life saver." anyhoos, the fire dept. came and announced that there wasn't any fire. Then this old Japanese man went up to the dude holding the dog, and said "Mr., don't call that dog life saver, call him shithead."
I thought it was from 'The Jerk'.
what a wonderful man
He chose you; he must keep you now.
What a wonderful human being. Faith in humanity restored...
I really want this guy to voice a super hero, and just talk like THIS all the time
:-) One gal said my voice is irritating. LOL What can I do?
Speak a little louder, because it's actually pretty awesome.
Everyone & their hate comments, get outta here with that. So cute and caring. Worth the watch. :)
No kidding something as simplistic as a guy rescuing a cat can draw trolls and hate and anger on a youtube vid..
I agree 100 percent! What's with these hateful individuals, anyway? Just another case of "keyboard warriors", hiding behind the safety of their computers! Some people are just complete idiots!!!!!
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Over the years I have managed to provide a home for many feral cats that have found their way to my back door. In southern California, I rescued one that had been hit by a car, that I named Kiwi. He lived to a ripe old age of 24 years. In human years that is equivalent to about 112. It is truly amazing what a little love can do for an animal. He was the most intelligent cat I have ever known and would remember virtually everything I would show him. On many occasions, he would come inside, let me know that he had something to show me, and wanted me outside. On one occasion he showed me a baby opossum on the lawn, on another a dead pigeon beside the walkway, on another a Grey Parrot sitting on a fence, and another was a cudamonde in a magnolia tree (someone's pet that had escaped), and so on. Every day when I arrived home he would run out to the car to greet me, he would come to me when I would whistle, and always answered to his name. A list of amazing things that he would do goes on and on. This beautiful, five pound, little, long haired tabby really enriched my life. Kiwi has been gone for many years now, but as I write this remembrance, a newly rescued male Cheshire lies at my feet. He follows me wherever I go and seldom leaves my side. He is one of eight that have found my door this summer. Unfortunately, I cannot take all of them in. Life is short for those on the outside. I have never known of one living more than two years. Again, thank you for sharing and for your humane kindness to this little animal.
He/she knows you have a good heart. They know. They always know.
You sir, are a bloody legend. Thankyou for showing us that real people still exist. Great stuff!
Thank God for men like you Randy Morris! He trusted you out of respect, because all you offered him was Love & safety! You earned that my friend! I have a Scottish wildcat living with me, I was her 5th & last chance of a home cause she got badly hurt!
Skye (that's her name) are best friends & this is our 4th year anniversary she tore me & my home up badly! Lol! I NEVER gave up on her & now she is my companion & sister! Bless your heart Sir!! Love & Light Leenz 😘 Xoxoxo
Well done that man, loved how he won its trust and put all that effort in to helping it.
If the cat had the CHOICE of being helped and neutered what would it say?
If cats had that ability they would probably have the ability to also regulate their own reproduction by abstaining or using contraceptives to prevent their own overpopulation beyond their food sources. And they would probably also look both ways before crossing the road. Unfortunately, they don't have these abilities. I have seen so many dead cats in the road in my area (due to the large population of ferals) and also many with health issues including ear mites and skin problems.
I fully understand the issue but do not agree to the solution of taking away the cats right to reproduce and effemenizing it.
You cant claim to truly love an animal then neuter it without due care for the physiological and physical welfare of the said animal. Its barbaric and i find it disgusting to say the least especially when there are other options which don't interfere with hormone production.
Other humane methods should be used such as tube tying to stop unwanted litters and/or social behaviors in domesticated cats
You are entitled to your opinion but I think that your empathy on this particular subject is wasted and misguided. And, yes, I can absolutely claim to love and do love this cat very much..
Randy Morris
No it isn't. Empathy isn't something you purposefully craft. Its something you feel. It is born out of relating, understanding and applying the trait of doing onto others what we want done onto us (that includes cats). You can make all the claim you want but can't truly Love without applying that.
So Very Sweet and Kind of you...💗
Thank You for everything!
I don't know how anyone can be soulless enough to dislike this...bless you for helping this cats :)
You made my morning Mr Morris! You are an awesome man with a heart of pure gold. I cried my way through this video, all happy, grateful tears because you care so much. I'm so thankful that there are people like you, like my mom (who has done the same so many times during my life) like myself who yesterday took pains to rescue a shrew from the evil jaws of my cat and my daughter who rushed it off to our wildlife rehab centre and stuck around to hear if it was going to make it, which it was, thank heavens. You make such a difference in this world with your kind heart, and all those like you - thank you! May you be richly blessed ❤️
I don't know you, but you have my highest respect for taking care of this little panther =)
As far as I an think back my family (mainly my mom) took acre of real cats, we fed them, vaccinated and dewormed them, got them neutered, some stayed, some left, some unfortunately died. The last colony was 12 cats (of whom only 2 survived, they rest "just got lost over time", we only now for sure of 3 that died), and it took months of continuing feeding and attraction (and also playing, little Kalle was a very gentle, very nice and playful little guy, unfortunately he didnt wake up after the neutering process :'( Kalle was also a black cat, Pasha reminds me a bit of him) until they let us touch them.
that sweet cat was very likely lost or abandoned. good thing he will get a home
Interesting. It looks like cats can adapt in this manner. I always thought dogs and cats couldn't bond with a human if they did not imprint during some number of weeks of life. Congrats.
I can tell how much attention you gave to this cat and how much effort you put in, due to how vocal he is. Cats don't get vocal like that in the wild, and take a caring hand to result in that. I foster kitties myself, and I'm really happy to see someone help a wonderful kitty find a home like you did.
That is incredible albeit very VERY hard to believe. I've always wondered if it was possible to domesticate feral cats with enough work.. It seems like they come in a variety of different personality types and maybe you just found a rare one! I guess this is an unbelievable video for a reason!
God bless you my friend you are an absolute angel for rescuing that gorgeous little fur baby. You could see that apart from needing food from you he was craving affection big time. I hope he's doing really well now after his vet checks etc.. would you give him a BIG hug and kiss from me (Louise) please, thank you and take good care x
Oh this warmed my heart, not many men are like you... thank you so much for being such a caring human being.
What a beautiful kitty. I'm sure he gets even more gorgeous when he is older.
That cat was so lucky to have found you! If only everyone was so kind.
WOW ! What a wonderful story, and you're very right to say how lucky that little fluffy fella was to find you. He won the puddy-cat lotto, thanks for such a great video mate, you made my day . Cheers
Love listening to this guy talk...has a heart for this cat!! Thanks for getting him neutered.
I hope you kept the cat yourself , he seemed to trust you
It's so great that you got to keep him as he seems to care for you straight away!!!
This cat has been abanded , no chance a wild cat will do that
please google the terms "wild cat", "stray cat" and "feral cat".
Then come back.
Your're a great man Randy! A big softy like me who LOVES kitties! Thank you for what you do and thanks for making the video! It really made my heart glad when the Kitty came over to say thanks and give you some love! These are THE BEST stories in the world!!!
My eyes just started welling up when the cat just came to you.
But when you said: it's all over now, all the hardship...
Oh man.... Tears rolling down
Thank you for sharing!!!!
As a person who was always a dog person: I have plans to adopt a kitty in November. My very first kitty!!! Oh boy....
That is so sweet of you to to share that with me and to consider adopting a cat.. I think that someone must be very lucky to have you!
+Randy Morris
I'm a bit nervous about it, but excited too!
Been asking everywhere for advice on having a cat.
I thought catnip wasn't a real thing, and now I've found seeds so you can grow it yourself!!!!!
+Randy Morris
Also I heard black cats get adopted the least. Gonna check with the shelter on that and if it's true here as well: I'll take a black kitty!!!
Yes. Catnip is real and you can buy it in spray form. However, not all cats possess the gene that makes them react to catnip. I read somewhere that 60 - 70 % do react to it.
+Randy Morris
Really!? I learn something new every day!!! 😊
OMG that made my heart melt seeing the kitty come to the guy :D
+Stephanie Jones Every time that happens my kitty and I give each other a high five. :-)
Randy Morris :( my farel cat is scared and i don't know if the cat has ever have an owner I'm trying not to put too much money into the cat cause who knows maybe with cat will leave for now i got 2 cat bowls I'm planing on building a cat house, I'm using dry cat food and warm water now, maybe i will get wet cat food i had the cat for about 1 month now its an outdoors cat
+Stephanie Jones The only thing that works with scared or feral cats is patience and consistency. They will learn to trust.
Randy Morris Thank you. but i think theres 2 cats :P
OMG! this is so fucking cute!
Great video. My own boy cat was feral and he started coming into the house and eating the two felines cat food. He wouldn't come to me for a long time and then just like yours he suddenly became all friendly. Poor old boy was with me for six years but cancer struck in the end. Basic vacination for rabies caught my ear...Unheard of here in the UK.
Aww..Omg what a sweet sweet kitty. I absolutely adore your caring and loving heart and how hard you worked to get this kitty to trust you so you could get him medical attention. What a precious video. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. I subscribed!
TOO FUNNY I DIED LAUPHING WHEN I HEARD THE NAME,SHITHAED!😆😆😆
Yuor a graet splleer...
+culinaryar XDD
+James McCracken You just made yourself look very small by assuming that I am from Arkansas. Please at least make yourself look smarter by not assuming.
Even if you were... shouldn't matter. There are kind people everywhere.
you are a very nice guy for taking time for a stray
Not to be rude but you did a little mistake, stray cats are cats that are abandoned or ran away from owners... This is a feral cat, they are born from stray cats in the road or just his whole family was there
what difference does it make stray or feral the kindness he showed is what is to be complemented.
Bless you, Randy! Such wonderful tears of pure happy streaming from my eyes! Thank you for sharing a GOOD story! You and Pasha enjoy many years together!
Thank u so much Randy for caring for the cats. they can't help themselves so thank u for people like u. u have my whole respect. people like u make this world a better place:)
You are a good and wonderful man mr. Morris. Thank you for this little soul who needed help.
Cats never forget and when they love, they truly love.
What a very kind thing you did for this kitten may he bless your life every single day and bring you joy
So glad you kept him you two were made for each other! hope he has a long and healthy life with you no point in saying happy because i know he is, well done xx
Glad you got to keep him. What a sweetheart.
This is a great video. Cats have an incredible ability to know who they can trust with their love. I enjoyed seeing the kitty pass up the "noms", and cuddle with you instead around that 8 minute mark. Also, naming him Shithead (temporarily anyways) was a funny nod to a classic film, The Jerk.
CHEERS!
I have a solid black cat that was rescued from the middle of a three lane highway with broken legs and "she" is also a love sponge. Never had a more loving pet dog/cat. Thanks for sharing this touching story.
Awesome work man. As other's have commented, if only there were more compassionate people like you in the world, it would be such a better place. What you done is truly inspiring. God Bless and much love from Australia.
You can tell a lot about a person from their treatment of animals.
Good man
Thank you, so much, for rescuing this handsome fella... and taking him into your home and heart! Hey, if you find yourself ever having to trap again you may want to try lining the floor with newspaper (folded on the sides to make it narrow enough). You can tape it so it doesn't blow in the wind. Anyway, not only is it a little more humane because it doesn't hurt their paws and it absorbs should they relieve themselves. It also helps trapping because you can drizzle some of your bait at the beginning of the paper - at the opening door - and lead them further in to the back with a trail of juice.
Awwww, I can't count how many times I've trapped what was thought to be feral kitties only to find they're tame like your boy here!! Good job!! Yup, you got a friend for LIFE.
Rhae of Light He was not tame...he was completely feral as was his mother. It took me many months of feeding and sitting outside the building talking to him across the street to get him acclimated enough for what subsequently happened. It was an exercise of unbelievable and regimental patience. I didn't think to make the video from the very beginning of this relationship but I got the most important part.:-)
Randy Morris That's so wonderful. Isn't it amazing how they evolve from being so fearful of us... to learning trust and the benefits of human interaction?
Rhae of Light Yeah. I often think of how they all have those deep emotions and capacity within them but sadly so many of them do not get a chance to have the benefits. Same with dogs.
Thank you for being so kind and loving toward this precious cat God bless you for what you have done for the little fella 🐈😁🙌
Randy, I am in love! (with the both of you). Your consistent patience and sweet words to this baby stole my heart! Throughout the video, I was like, "why don't YOU just keep him?". Now I understand, and I am thrilled that you have been able to work out a "compromise" with your landlords. Good Luck & lots of love to you two
You are great man with big heart.
