    VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
After retiring from the military, John built this amazing DIY school bus conversion for his family of 6. As you might imagine, a ton of ingenuity went into the design of this bus. From giving each child their own storage space to organizing and numbering the pelican tool cases, this family thought of everything. As the world changes, more and more families are looking to simplify and hit the open road. This bus is a perfect example of a school bus converted into a tiny house that works well for family living.

With hubby being away on duty , I'm sure you've learned very quickly that if you need something done you are the one to do it. Waiting 6mths for hubby to be home is not the answer.
I'll add here also re the single beds ..... you've both been sleeping alone for years ... he o/s, you at home !!! Not easy sharing a bed again when you're used to sleeping alone. Amazing how much better marriage functions when "sex" isn't the glue that keeps their relationship together. Good for you two, I'll be very surprised if your marriage doesn't see you "til death do us part."

The intricate details, ensuring everyone has their own cubbies, storage and space is just so cool. And the best thing is ... you have been teaching each of them how to live tiny, creatively, environmentally and responsibly. It is awesome to witness :) Keep up this lifestyle as long as it allows, have fun and all the best for the years ahead. Love from Veronica, Australia

The thing I like best about this build is that they made plenty of provision for their kids. There are so many places all throughout this home that they made sure to include, so that each child can not only have what they need, but also what they want. Lots of options for them to be creative and use their imaginations. Most builds I see each kid has a bin or a space at the end of their bunk, maybe a small book shelf and that is it. I understand many that choose this lifestyle spend alot of time outdoors, but this way if it rains, the weather is uncomfortable or the kid(s) just prefer to do imaginative or creative play, they can. Seems like the wife also spends alot of time in her kitchen preparing medicinal and health tinctures,/concoctions, as well as prep for food storage/meals. Everyone has their own way to feel comfortable in how they go about making this small of a space comfortable. One person mentioned about it being too chaotic for them. It does appear that way, but they have a place for everything, know where it is and can quickly identify where it goes and how to find it. I think this family has done a very creative and awesome job in packing a whole lot of their talents, creativity and lifestyle preferences in this space ,without alot of compromise in the ability to pursue what they enjoy and what is important to each of them. I wish you and your family the best. Blessings

I can't see the point of a washing machine when there are many laundromats around. Some people may think/say/believe that this is a 'cramped' way of living but if you take a proper look at the family live you may notice (I noticed) that everything even down to the fishing rods/poles has a place in/on this family home 🏡🎣. I don't think that it's cramped cos they have everything they need/have/want with them and they are now 3years on the road and everyone looks/seems/is happy. So no if you notice I don't think it's cramped it's a proper, real house with items that an everyday house with 6 people living there has in it. It's also incase ya all hadn't noticed it, it's a home filled with love for each other. So no in a word I would say it's not 'cramped' at all. It's not been dressed up either instead were seeing how this home functions in everyday living.
Everyone has a job/chore to do, so it's not all left to the parents, plus this will help to show their kids the importance of pulling together, while showing the kids that a little hard work has its rewards and gosh I doubt their kids mind cos like I said earlier this family do really look like they are happy together.
Everyone has personal space while also having space for their personal items.
Yes people this isn't a 'showcase' home but a real lived in home with 6 people in there 4 of which are still growing and the kids they sure do look and seem very a close knitted, happy, healthy and loving family, you only had to observe this when (I noticed this when filming was taking place on the outside of the home/bus) they were giving us a tour of the outside of their home.
A happy home equals a happy life and this family are I truly believe are a blessed, loving, strong and very happy family unit. Its a big house for an equally big family with only the important things aboard (yes like many of ya all I noticed no washer/dryer). Again tho it learns the kids an important job ie going the laundry mat, taking care of the process before returning home and as dad said 'putting everyone's stuff' on the beds and then dad would put it away. Everyone having their own jobs/chores to do shows the importance I believe of letting the kids see that it's not all down to the parents to do, that a family can work together to get things done, as the saying goes 'many hands make light work' and gosh many hands are needed here. This family pull together and sure do look like there's a lot of love here saying that there also seems like they have alot of respect for not only their home, their stuff, each others stuff, the surrounding area but most importantly respect for each and every family member.
The kids are also being shown how to live in everyday situations that's something that they can't really see sitting in school at a desk but it's something they learn while living and travelling on the open road, they are also seeing that world is an every changing world so they are learning 'the skills' to cope.
Great build, fantastic home, thank you family for allowing us to see a real lived in family home 🏡🙏❤️😊👏👏👏💖💯🤗 and this house packs alot into their home.
