Here I Bring Normal Labour Introduction Lecture in Hindi including its Definition, Fetus in Utero Relations , Criteria , Stages & Management.
Normal Labour is a process of expulsion of the fetus from the uterus.
It is a series of events that take place in genital organs to expel out the viable products of conception into the outer world.
Criteria for Normal Labour -
- Spontaneous expulsion of fetus & placenta.
- Complete in reasonable time.
- Complete without complications.
- Vertex Presentation.
Fetus in Utero -
- Attitude - Relation of fetus body parts to one another & Normal in flexion.
- Lie - Relation of fetus spine to mother spine
- Three types - Longitudinal, Transverse & Oblique lie
- Presentation - It is the part of fetus that first present in the pelvic inlet.
- Three presentation - Cephalic, Breech & Shoulder.
Cephalic Presentation -
- Three presenting part - Vertex , Brow & Face.
Denominator -
Vertex - Occiput
Brow - Frontal eminence
Face - Mentum
Difference between True & False Labour -
Contractions -
True labour contractions are increasing in frequency, duration & intensity but not in false labour .
Pain in regular in true labour but irregular in false labour (Braxton Hicks Contractions)
Show - Present in True labour but not in false labour
Cervix dilation & effacement occurs in true labour but not in false labour.
