She was going to do a flight for the BBC cameras but couldn't get clearance from the Zimbabwean Central Bank to taxi out onto the runway. Something about the fuel bill triggering another recession...
Hahaha 🤣😆🤣😆
She didn't have the money to bribe the aviation fuel pump attendant
Yes, for more on that, we cross live to our African Economics correspondent in Salisb...eh, excuse me... Harere.
The BBC could not even give her 10 quid to fill the plane? Typical British !!
@@karlbenz5636 The BBC did consider that 10 quid option, but again the Zimbabwean Central Bank would not authorize such a huge influx of foreign exchange at short notice. They just weren't able to print enough notes in the local currency to make the exchange rate conversion.

I know Angeline Bosha personally from high school. She is a very principled lady who is kind-hearted and genuinely loves people. We were both members of the Christian Union where she showed to deeply love her God and was very participative. I am so happy for her. we not surprised she has achieved this. I wish her well in her future dreams and endeavors. I am Farai Elton Mutasa a medical physicist by training working at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, and a Lecturer with Hit university school of radiography.
The focus should be on what the young lady has achieved. I admire her for being a wife with a career. It's not about Zimbabwe but her. I am not happy with the situation in Zimbabwe but kudos to the young lady. She is a woman of courage. Go get them Tigress!!!!
There are a lot of women in the world who have achieved the same. She is not really that special.
I don't know if it's just me but I see a lot of comments focusing on her not being a fighter pilot because she looks like she's in training and I see a lot of bashing on her county and what kind of jet she was walking next to but I'm glad I finally read your comment doing the exact opposite, she deserves credit and respect for accomplishing what she has in a country that has little to no money for the armed forces in the first place. Thank you for not making fun of her or where she's from
@@138shreyshekhar2 you're right about one thing but if have to disagree in saying that she's not that special. She's a pilot in training in Zimbabwe where the country has little to no money and she's trying to better herself and better her situation by doing something right, in my opinion I think she's very special
@@138shreyshekhar2 As this is 2 years later, I don't know if this lady is still flying, but the fact that she got through fighter training at all is incredibly impressive. Military fast jet flight training is difficult for the student whatever country they are from - and the mere fact that a young woman from a country with little to no resources achieved that position, makes her Monumentally special. You really don't know what you're talking about do you?
In My Country, Pilots Who Fly These Type Aircrafts Are "Student Pilots", Not "Fighter Pilots"
Ok we are a poor country and don't have the sophisticated planes. But she is a fighter pilot and I proud of her.
@Dias06 We are poor because the White people came into our country and allocated the resources to themselves. We were forced to work for them for little wages. We are victims in all honest. Humble still waters too deep to stream understand this point. So dig deeper for understanding the people of Zimbabwe' plight.
Some of our people had a revolution and waged a war that made it difficult for the Whites to rule. The country was on the verge of bankruptcy. A settlement was reached and a multi-racial society emerged. In Zimbabwe, the Blacks did not tell the whites to go away. I was there and nobody protested or asked the Whites to leave. In Uganda if you recall Idi Amin kicked the British and Indians out. In Zimbabwe however Whites left in huge masses. Some feared there was no future for them, others could not stand being ruled by a black hence a mass exodus. I dont blame them for leaving, people evaluate circumstances and seek their best interest. Those who remained in industry are still there and doing well. There was the chaotic farm distribution, which could have been done better and some white farmers had no choice but to leave. You can't blame this on an ordinary Zimbabwean and also claim that they deserve it. Its insulting to the victims of this current regime. In 2000 wasn't it the people who rejected the referendum and guess what after that the farm grab was done by Mugabe and former freedom fighters. You cant again blame it on the suffering Zimbabweans who even voted Mugabe out in 2008 by over 76% but ZANU PF falsied the results and ask for a runoff. Our people were slaughtered and Tsvangirai choose not to contest during the second round. Crooked games were played during Mbeki's watch, resulting in a government of national unity.
Fast forward to 2018 Chamisa won but the election was stolen from him.
In short ZANU PF displaced the Whites from power. ZANU PF has ruled and has problems with corruption, over spending, paying War Vets when the country did not have the money, waged a war in the Democratic Rebublic of Congo that benefitted participants such as the Military brass and involved government players and failure to pay debts to the IMF. ZANU PF lost the last 3 elections but either ignored or rig the results and continue to rule. Blame it on the right individuals instead of attributing it to the poor Zimbabweans who are victims of the past from Whites, now from ZANU PF and the future of ZANU PF and new Colonial Master the corrupt Chinese Investors until something gives in. When the corrupt government and corrupt new colonialists finally fall things will change. People are not going to be poor forever. Change will occur to what the people of Zimbabwe "deserve". Obviously you wont like what we "deserve" individual freedom and the pursuit of happiness but it will happen. Change will occur when it's all clear like a blue sky. When the dust settles the lost kingdom of Munhumutapa will be restored to our glorious past.
Dzimbahwe. I cry and lament what should, what could and am looking forward to what will be, which my people deserve.
Some day I will follow the lead of my people and restore the lost kingdom to our glorious past Dzimbahwe.
@Dias06 Its never about blacks or whites in my future Dzimbahwe but a multi-racial society that is open minded, tolerant and respect others. Those are the one I am writing to and I hope they read and get enlightened.
If South Africans, also I dont know which specific group you are talking about, dont agree with me it's their prerogative. I stand with what I believe: equality of mankind. I will be working with men and women of integrity who respect the rule of law, are not corrupt, tolerant and foremost non judgemental.

The Zimbabwe Air Force is definitely lacking funding but in the past they have preformed very well in combat against well trained and experienced adversaries armed with relatively modern equipment (late 20 century stuff). In the DRC they basically held the whole few thousand km front with their combat sorties and resupply missions to FAC , ZDF and the other Congolese government allies. The Rwandan and Ugandan militaries and their rebel groups had South African and Israeli mercenaries on their side with AA equipment like stingers. But AFZ aircraft were rarely shot down. If you don’t believe me read the book Great Lakes conflagration by Tom Cooper a lot of info about the AFZ in the DRC 1998-2003 is there.
