    excellent lecture Bill. however i have one doubt that if we trust exchanges for managing our bitcoin, they can do it for many people. they are the ones managing our secret keys as well. since they do it for a large amount of people, won't the privacy of the individuals present there be at stake?
    if yes, then this contradicts the whole point of decentralization. although mining process is still decentralized, but the privacy of a user for storing and using bitcoin (or any crypto for that matter) lies at the hands of a group of individuals at the exchange.
    how is this challenge tackled? or is it a limitation?

      Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies do not have to be necessarily stored on exchanges or rather custodial wallets. There exist non custodial wallets that can store your bitcoin with you being in control. Remember not your keys not your coins.
