I was 73 when I first heard Nightwish and fell immediately in love with them and Symphonic metal in general. Their music and Floor's solo career got me though the pandemic. That was three years ago. Listen them nearly every night usually watching people react to them.

Thanks for reaching out James! We are amazed by the level of professionalism disband shows. Also at the amazing kindness that Nightwish fans showed us so we sort of nine days ago. Very happy you two have joined the NW army and are hooked. We will be following your journey with each new reaction. By the way, as dog lovers, we congratulate you on Buster's adoption. I discovered Nightwish only 4 or so months ago at the age of 59. Just in case they don't come to Australia anytime soon, I'm contemplating treating myself to a trip to Europe just to catch a concert for my 60th. People don't get too old to see good music although some bands get too old to play music good. I want to catch Nightwish before they fall into that same category like Megadeth has

yes, they are timeless and grand to see, I'm 76 but have been a metalhead forever, and seeing the youngsters in the audience and watching reacters from all genres from rap to country be smitten by them is wonderful, and yes as stated don't know the brand but the instrument Troy is playing is a type of electric mandolin called a bouzouki which has a longer neck I understand and Marco is exclusive with Warrick, that one I believe is the vampire and he also plays the buzzard and infinite and the double-neck "beast" (forgot the model name) and LOL yes get use to it, every song will be a favorite, there's not many bands that can claim "ALL" their songs a winner like Nightwish can.

The thing about the Nightwish fans, or Nightwish Army, we are world-wide and very inclusive to anyone that loves their music. If you check out their crowds, old guys like me rocking out next to youngsters, as many women as men out there, all races, religions, and sorts of people in it. It is all about the love of the band. We never focus on our differences, only our love for the band and this band is a must for me now daily. Just makes even the worst of days bearable. They only make quality music, they are not looking for a top 40 hit, every song is a new story, sit back, enjoy and let the band take you on you newest journey. Oh and one of my most beloved pets I ever had was a mutt from the shelter, loved that dog to death.

And this is why, no matter how many great bands come and go, Nightwish has stayed my favorite for so long. Because they are the only band that manage to *consistently* draw an emotional reaction out of me no matter how many times I hear a song. Good music is universal; the feelings associated with the human condition are universal. Age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, none of it matters. We're all here having this experience and it's so much better when we can feel it together.

But just always a good bit more than that I can tail :-) we are lucky to have him and feel really blessed. NightWish has really come along for us at a great time. It’s been some dark days in the past but the music is so uplifting. Also I grew up in the 70s listen to a lot of the bands like Zepplin Rush Judas Priest etc. I just spared that there would ever be bands like this again . But so glad I found Nightwish in the night with family. And also the bands associated with NightWish!

This song has a special place in my heart !!! Not just because wolf is Estonian national animal but the windmill battle between Tuomas and Floor....And Floor's inner wolf....holy mother of Odin !!!
The title is taken from a King's novel called “Wolves of the Calla”. But the conception of the book has nothing to do with the text behind the song, it is far more inspired by the film "Dead Poets' Society". The main idea is - one must live his life the best he can, to strive for his aims, because the wolves are always 7 days behind you and they will catch you if your life is not of full value... and then you will be only dead meat.
That's what Tuomas (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and Composer of Nightwish) said in one interview some time ago.
NIghtwish Shadow Unit from Estonia 🤘😎🤘.

Thanks for another great reaction. Loving the channel and your genuine emotional reactions to this great band and their amazing music. I became a metal head in the 80's in high school (graduated 1987). I am now 54 and still a "certifiable" metal head. I discovered Nightwish about 10 years ago and have loved them ever since. Over the years I have enjoyed many CZcams videos of live Nightwish performances and have noticed that, unlike many other metal bands, there is a very wide range of age of Nightwish fans. I have seen younger people, more seasoned people and even what looks like whole families (Mom, Dad and kids) in the audience all with smiles on their faces just enjoying the performance. Nightwish fans appear to be just one big happy family, of all ages, all just wanting to enjoy their favorite band.
Shortly after discovering them, I noticed a little to late that they played at a smaller venue here in my Canadian hometown and unfortunately missed them. I believe that this was before they exploded into the huge band they are now. Anyway, I have yet to see them live but doing that is definitely on my bucket list as well.
You have barely scratched the surface on your Nightwish Journey and I look forward to following along with you. As well as all of the Nightwish performances with current lead vocalist, Floor Jansen, there are also many great performances featuring the band's original lead vocalist, Tarja, and her successor Anette. Plus there are other rabbit holes to go down where you are able to enjoy many non Nightwish performances from Floor, Marco (bass player and male vocalist) and Tarja. They are all very entertaining performances and I look forward to enjoying your reactions to as many of them as you choose to react to.
Finally, I, along with probably other Nightwish fans, recognize the following as the band's three greatest performances, so far, and a right of passage of all Nightwish fans. These are also the band's three longest performances and, especially Poet and the Pendulum, very emotional as well. Tuomas (keyboardist and primary composer) wrote Poet and the Pendulum when he was dealing with the band's breakup with their original lead vocalist, Tarja. Some will say that you need to wait to watch all three of these but I say that you decide when you are ready. They are all such amazing performances and do need to be enjoyed at some point :) I always get misty eyed at the end of the following Greatest Show on Earth performance. I won't say why as I want you to experience it for yourself. Just let me say though, if you do decide to experience the Greatest Show On Earth performance via the link below... PLEASE make sure you watch it right to the very end of the credits :) You won't regret it.

Bassist Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) plays custom Warwick guitars.
Troy favors several makers...someone should have a list.
Speaking of Troy playing a fabulous guitar...with thoughts of Buster...a Nightwish song about empathy (which.is basically the band and fan philosophy!) How's the Heart, live acoustic at Planet Rock...just Troy playing beautiful guitar and Floor's stunning vocal... you will get chills, you may tear up at the sheer magical sound they create! And the message has never been so important!

Good work guys, adopting a dog is a serious matter, we had three over the years
but were NEVER sorry we did it, even though there were some teething problems.
One was used for pig hunting, we never saw so many scars on a dog. (Pitbull cross)
Floor has two tattoos behind her ears, one of a dog, the other side a wolf,
and has an Irish wolfhound at home in Sweden.

God bless you for rescuing those dogs! This is our first rescue and it is different. Buster is very skittish, especially with me. The male owner of Buster bred him and to raise puppies to fight. He and the wife would take B to stand under a bridge to get more money. They weren’t homeless.
The man would get drunk and pick Buster up by the neck and throw him against the wall.
I can barely even recount those stories without my blood beginning to boil.
I dare say that Buster has it better now than he’s had it in the over two years he’s been alive. We love that guy and he makes a great addition to the family. We have a dog who had a sister but she died in June. He is still trying to work things out with Buster but they don’t fight they just keep their distances.
Sorry to be so long-winded. But thanks for the comment and know that we love Nightwish even though occasionally we will beer off the path. There’s so much good music out there it’s hard not to listen to other things occasionally. Take care

@@jeffhoffman8370 You've probably aready been told this, but it is highly recommended that you do your full research before watching the Poet and the Pendulum. Key things to read up on: The open letter firing Tarja, her open letter in response, Tuomas' feelings about the whole thing, the severe criticism he got from Tarja's fans, and how down in the dumps he was afterward. This song was his on-stage symbolic suicide, as the alternative to a real one. Also often missed by reactors: the significance of the references to Edgar A. Poe's The Pit and the Pendulum. It also would really help to have reacted to at least one performance with Tarja first (a frequent favorite is Nightwish's rendition of The Phantom of the Opera, done at the End of an Era tour; that was her last show).

And here is Marko's other band 'Tarot' all the way from the 80's. They are still together though but i think 'Tarot - Love's not made for my kind' is best enjoyed from this original era video brought from a recording in tv. I have never seen anyone react to this one but its just pure honey. I think you would love it as you identify yourself as "80's rockers" The hair, the leather, studds, spandex, bright animal patterns etc. At the start there is some mumbling by the tv announcer in Finnish but the song will start in few seconds. czcams.com/video/Cs-DJVXXQOk/video.html&ab_channel=mchn10

Nightwish fan for over 20 years my mantra is for Nightwish, “MY FAVORITE NIGHTWISH SONG IS ALWAYS THE LAST ONE IVE LISTENED TO!” I have a suggestion to do a whole Nightwish concert such as Wacken 2013 from the opening song, Dark Chest Of Wonders to the Last Ride Of The Day. It’s Floor Jansen really being introduced to the largest crowd that Nightwish had yet to perform in front of (82,000). Even though Floor was not yet officially a member of the band she had been with the bands tour for around 10 months after Annette Olsen ( Nightwish second singer) had to leave due to becoming ill. There is a great Documentary , “ Please learn the Setlist in 48 hours.” It explains how Floor came to be in the band. If you break up the concert and react to each song as a reaction because I understand how much time it takes to edit each reaction and your less lightly to get blocked doing a whole concert. Although some reactors have broken it up to 3 songs per reaction. Even though they had done some of the Wacken songs in previous reactions , they felt when they heard them the second time they enjoyed them even more because of the concert setting. Given the fact that none of the songs were written by Tuomas for Floor to sing, and that Ghost Love Score was the 13 song in a 15 song set, and how the band, fans, & even crew had worked, played with so much energy & love for the music it’s truly magical! Good luck on your journey and with your new family member, Buster. Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Nowadays he plays everything in D standard (there was a period of time in the mid 2000 when he had one guitar in E and the other one in D, but they have lowered their earlier stuff to D since then).

A little song inspired by a Steven King Novel called "Wolves of Calla". It also incorporates the concept of "Carpe diem". The wolves and the poison are being used as metaphors for death, which is never far behind us as we go through life. Heroes take chances and live every moment grabbing everything life has to offer. Cowards are too timid to take chances in life and live to regret it as they grow older.

Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 98 percent of the songs. Love Floor's silent howl and the way Tuomas is rockin the keyboard stand. FYI Floor has a tattoo of a dog behind one ear and a wolf behind the other. Marko rocks. I LOVE Floor and Marko together ❤️ FYI Floor and Marko sing Ave Maria

All the songs are so good and deep stories with intelligent meaning and musical structures. Only the metal Mozart Tuomas can write this. Tuomas plays Korg, Emppu ESP Custom EV1, Marco Warwick, Troy several ones bozouki? in here...somebody knows the drum kit of Kai.

  • @christhompson4161
    @christhompson4161 Před 2 lety +1

    marco plays Warwick
    emmpu an ESP signature.

How are the pups getting along? Didn't hear any growling - aside from Floor - so I guess things are good between them? This one is real banger. Emppu's playing a custom ESP. Appreciate the mention of PRS though, since they're from my home state. Nice job again, folks.

You guys have no idea what's in store for you. Apart from Ghost Love Score, these songs are considered secondary songs to Nightwish. If you enjoy these so much, it only gets better.
