I made my own and you can too. All you need is a strip of cotton cloth with a small weight tied to the bottom. The important part is to use a cotton cloth and be sure the weight you use is small enough to pass through without needing to be forced. You wouldn't want anything to damage the core.

I bought a set from the 70s and the guy said he never oiled them in his life... were in Alberta where it's always dry , I was told not to oil them...
