Man, you really get to appreciate how much more polished the final game's level design is by watching this.
It feels so weird seeing how five different areas in the final game were originally all part of one level
And then another, unrelated area got partly added to said level (Kung-Fu)
Furthermore, this level was a hybrid of 3 separately scrapped levels. Being a city, a circus, and a “lights out” level
Oh, now it makes sense that "Pizza Pie-ing" have a circus leitmotif. It was planned for the unused circus level.
My brain is actually melting from the fact this entire scrapped level basically got reworked into five stuff in the game, including two other levels, which went unused at the fact that this managed to be the level that inspired the fake peppino chase
The fake peppino chase was actually inspired by either the pepperman chase or the thomas the train chase in sugary spire construct build

Pizza Tower's level-design philosophy changed after the April 2021 build. Before and up to that point, enemies and transformations were just used when a level design called for them, hence why things like cheeseballs, rock chains, and rockets are in the City level. After the aforementioned build, which is where this video's level originates from, levels had enemies and concepts that were strictly for said level, and usually weren't used outside of that level.
It's so weird that this level was effectively cut up into Street, Sewer, Kid's Party, Space, and the unused Circus level.

Im proud to say that while working on a circus level remake, i COMPLETELY guessed that the tileset used for pizzaland here was the actual intended tileset
every time I watch one of these I just want to order pizza more and more

its interesting that This uses Peppibot factory assets, Boss 4 chase sequence assets, and the clown secret in world 3 assets
Yeah they we're reworked to not waste the assets

Wait, so there is a City level? I thought it was the Streets level, before it got fused with the Kung Fu level, and is now in the Tropical World instead of the City World, which would make more sense if it was more based around mountains and temples and stuff...

If you're wondering where these tiles are used in the final game, I can tell you!
City Tiles = Peppibot Factory Outside Tiles
Dark Sewers Tiles = Fake Peppino Chase Hallway Tiles
Circus Tiles = Not Used, But Decoration is used on the side (Above DD9 in the top left corner)
How are the circus tiles the most known? Peppibot factory is a main level and the fake Peppino boss is necessary for progression meanwhile the circus is a secret room?

You need a special version of the demo that has a debug console, if you have the patreon its linked wihtin archived builds

but now we have eggplant build and the game is awesome again
