I really appreciate how Rory can give so much praise to other clubs. He is spot on about the two united signings for 4 & 5. Onana will be a massive upgrade in terms of playing out of the back than De Gea and if Mount can reach the levels he was at at Chelsea 2 years ago he'll be a huge upgrade on eriksen in terms of energy and defensive cover
Agreed degea is a liability now and new keeper is younger. Mount if he does well is a great signing as talented and much younger then Erickson.

The disrespect to Christian eriksen is insane. The only thing Mason mount has over him is the legs. Eriksen controls the tempo of a game. His passing is amazing. However, Mason mount is a good player to have and fits well into ten hags system. (Speaking as a United fan)
Tbf the legs that eriksen lacks is a big part why he is being replaced. Pretty important for a footballer

Buvey puts it all down to ''a moment'' when we all know great players aren't purely defined by that, but to their whole body of work. Any player can have a great moment. Rice for sure belongs on the list, and if he went to City, Chelsea or United, we're not having this discussion at all.
Mount is in Rory’s list at 55m after a shockingly poor season but mac Allister to Liverpool at 35m isn’t after a great season with club & country 🤣

The initial fee is 35 million, goes up to 55 million which is still a decent value, basically what United are paying for Mount who's done more in his career so far at Club level.

Eriksen was a better player than Mount in his prime, but he's past that now, and Mount is more of a 2-way player, as Eriksen hardly plays defense. Kovacic is a decent player, but I'm not sure he'll be a starter for years at City, whereas Mount could potentially be in the United XI for a decade. Gundogan going to Barca on a free is EASILY the best transfer of the summer, and it's not even remotely close. Dude is one of the best footballers on the planet, at any position, and he's gone for FREE. Messi going to Inter Miami is a cool story (I'm American), but it's not a great league, compared to rest of the world, and the rest of his team is so poor that no one outside of the USA will really care that much, except for the inevitable highlights. Basically, it's extremely similar to Ronaldo going to Saudi Arabia.
Gundogan is near the end of his career and he's got a very extensive injury history. City wouldn't be able to rely on him for another 3 years and neither will Barcelona.
Mount is obviously better than Eriksen at this point in their careers, but also VERY different players. Eriksen is a pace controlling, pick a pass kind of player. Mount an energetic box to box type. I still don’t know if Mount will work at United though. Thought they’d be better off with an Enzo Fernandez type. Ie an upgraded Eriksen. Especially with Bruno focusing more on attack, I don’t know if that midfield is defensively solid enough with just Casemiro.

just go and check the stats of eriksen, I never paid much attention to him when he was at spurs and wasnt event excited when he came to UTD, but when you see him play you can understand why he is such a good player, especially when you have been watching fred and mctominay play in that position for years, I think us UTD fans forgot what a good technical midfielder looked like :)

Messi to inter Miami is a great signing for the club and league as it gives them so much exposure. If it was a European club it would be a terrible signing monster wages for a 36 year old.

right now, eriksen, you need to understand that we will now be dominating possesion against majority of the teams this season, that is where you need eriksen, he will control the game and we wont need to worry about losing possesion in midfield, he will recycle the ball well and in case defensive action is needed, he is not completely uselss, he just doesnt have the legs to do it for 90 minutes, but for 60-70 minutes of everygame, I will pick him over Mount

Kovacic is nothing special. He;s a solid player but a massive downgrade on Gundogan. Mount is a bettter than Kovacic at pretty much everything. Scoring and creating goals, playmaking, link up play, pressing, work rate, defensive output, passing, chance creation, set pieces and the rest.
Haha I guess Lucaz Vasquez and Nacho Fernandez were also world class ballers because they won 4 champions leagues as well. Kovacic didn't even play in Chelsea's UCL campaign and was mostly inured. Meanwhile Mount was our best player that season and the one after, he was more important to our UCL win than any player bar maybe Kante. He was literally nominated for a Ballon'dor you clown.
Being a crucial part and winning your team a UCL with the winning assist in the final to boot is way more significant than warming the bench and picking up a medal by default.
Maybe you should actually start watching football and form some opinions of your own instead of jumping on the popular bandwagon agendas such as hating on Mount which seems to be popular right now.
