this song reminds me of my innocence as a child. i would sit down with my mother and sister right in front of the television on a summer night and watch the sound of music. i loved and was entranced by every song from this movie. all the colors and excitement i would get, while in the comfort of my mother’s arms. it’s been around 10 years since then and yesterday this song popped into my head instantly giving me nostalgia and comfort. i hope i can watch this again soon.

I just watched this movie for the first time recently. This was definitely my favorite song. I also like the Coltrane version of this song, it is also very good.
The Sound of Music soundtrack was rammed down my neck when i was very young. My parents, aunty and grandfather had it. I 'grew out' of it in my kid years but at age 13 one afternoon when having to read Oliver Twist in a very boring school reading lesson i suddenly thought, Ay i want to hear The Sound of Music, for some very strange version. My teenage brain kept telling me to stop being a nerd and listen to all the 1977 Disco and punk music that was out around that time, but still, deep down, i wanted to hear TSOM. Thus when it came on TV which it did on Christmas Day 1978 i watched the whole film of it. And i'm not sorry i did so either.
This delightful film came out in my birth year of 1965. When I was four, this was my favorite song-just as James Bond's ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE WAS my favourite film...I was a precocious little bugger...NOT! LOL!
