Did better than I did Dave. Took me about the same time to get mine one but I had a Neco press on the forward nose gear cable slip on me after the first flight. It actually landed and tracked so well on 3 wheels I did not notice it until I went to fly the next day and saw the one nose gear was not locked. Took a few minutes to press a new one on and all was well. Landed at Long Point on the weekend. Sure is a blast. Like having a new airplane to fly.
@kitfoxjunky -- we will have to get a fly in going soon,
One more float plane at my place now but not official till it actually flies.
looking good
Cool vid.........I was wanting to see how they were installed.
What Engine are you running on this Kitfox, and what is the useful-load with the Aerocet Amphib's installed? Thanks for sharing this video.
There is a complete kitfox IV 1200 kit for sale. Made in 1992. The kit has never been worked on. What do you think the kit is worth and should I just bypass this and get the S7 instead? Is there a big difference between the KitfoxIV 1200 (classic) and the S7 in flight characteristics? Gord. April 7th 2016
@yabodmon -- these have wheel -- they are amphibs
do they make floats with wheels in them ? so u could land on land and water without having to change wheel base? thanks
Is it true that the plane actually flies better with the floats on? What do those floats cost you?
Thanks for the video- another great one!
are they Aerocet 1100 floats
yes Good call
Thanks for the info how are they working out
Uhg, complacency kills....
Seeing you start up while a person walking towards you and not saying clear prop????
land it at dave's farm beach :P
FIRST! lol always wanted to say that :D
Now to twatch the vid which no doubt will be great :)
Sorry to bother you, I live in the Rockies in Alberta and I work in the Yukon. I was wondering if the kitfox in Canada is considered a ultralight? I’ve been looking online lots but I can’t find any information on its class. I want to build a remote cabin in the Yukon that’s fly in only but I can’t waist money on a private license.
