    Hi Ian, I have just got a used msv3+, I did a range test these days and I got 100km out of it! Going around 20 kph average speed. So happy! I couldn't believe it

    A lot of people are mentioning the low range. My question is what psi are you running the tires at? I haven't checked my pressure in a while and was only getting 20 miles on my old msuper, when I went to inflate it, I realized the pressure was at 18 psi! Once I pumped it up to 50psi, I got 28 miles out of it. The tire pressure makes a huge difference in range.

    I snatched a 2000 km 84v 1600wh version for 750€. It has no fan on the Mobo but is supposed to be a 2000w motor, is this a concern ? I've learned that the last versions had.

    Thanks for your videos and reviews, It is help me a lot and enjoy.
    I have a question, I'm learning/destroying with a second hand unicycle of a chinese brand very bad, I think that the poor quality is stoping my progression (only wheel me 01). The question is if you recomends me continue with 16" like gotway amc, or jump directly with MSuper3...that is my final target. Thanks, regards. Guille.

    Nice first look. I was under the impression temperature had a large effect on range yet you say "summer, maybe little bit more". Is that based on your extensive Ninebot experience - the difference between summer and winter isn't that much? Thanks for the video.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety +1

      Going by the EV (car) market, you can expect anything from a 10-25% range drop over winter (some report 30%), I did 32 miles on the second trip, so take the max 30% allowance, you might get another 9 miles bringing it to approx 40 miles. I actually went to the effort to do a second test on this unit as the milage seemed low when compared to the stats in the marketing and wanted to give it the best shot at completing a higher distance.
      Second test took out hills completely (~) as it was basically done at river level the entire time with a 50/50 split in the journey (by returning on the same path that I went to Gloucester on). Was stored overnight at room temperature to give it the best fighting chance with range. Still, a couple of hours of constant riding is really good, and my knees were taking a bit of kicking so glad it ran low!
      *Remember, there is another 20% locked in, when the alarm kicks in for the low battery. Although not ridable in built up areas first thing in the morning, that potential is still there. I think in the larger version like this they should give back 10% of that range, and get the low batt alarm to kick in at 10% (or at least offer an override for that). With a battery this massive there is no need to have the 20% there.

      @MartyBacke Před 7 lety +1

      All good info. The fact that you can probably get ~40 miles in the summer is impressive. I know I get more range on my MSuper than you do (I weight ~30 pounds less), so this would offer amazing range for me. I'm tempted to get one. I'd have to find a buyer for mine first. Time will tell me me what happens, but I do love that extended range. Thanks for all the info.

      Speedy Feet UK from my experience with the 820wh v3..and my 1360wh ks18 1200W....at such temperatures i only get about 50-60%of summer range....this 18650cells are known for dropping such much...

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety

      Kickersoccer69 Whats your temp in summer? Only I don't see that drastic a drop off, usually around 20% (With Ninebot ONE....using LGEBMG11865's)

    • @SolarizeYourLife
      @SolarizeYourLife Před 7 lety

      Plus, if you allow the battery warm up a bit and recover, it will be able to go more distance...winter is a killer, there is even a bigger drop in distance when temperature falls below 0° C then when above 0°, cold does help you burn fat though...

  • @SuperSport1966

    I just finished the video. I ride with a group and they have the 1600Wh wheels. They get MUCH better mileage than I do on my 820Wh, and I get 40 miles. I wonder if they forgot to put the second battery in the other side of your wheel? I mean, they DID put the wrong pedals on all of them... It's too bad their QC is so poor. The wheels are amazing otherwise! I'm totally in love with my 820.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety

      40miles on a 820wh is amazing! I get around 20-25 (as per the full on video review). Miles off what they advertise, but still a lot of range regardless. Wish it did a lot more! The 1600wh will get the 40miles...just by the skin of its teeth if I didn't exceed 12-13pmh I THINK (and if it was flat of course)... still, there is always the 22 inch 'Monster' which has 2400wh, this might get me to the 40+ mile mark I hope :)

    • @SuperSport1966
      @SuperSport1966 Před 7 lety

      Yeah, I ride very conservatively and I only weigh 160lbs when wet. Probably 165-170 with all gear on. Maybe temps too? Although I ride in 40F and it does not seem to change it a whole lot.

    • @SuperSport1966
      @SuperSport1966 Před 7 lety

      The group I ride with is consistently getting 60-80 miles per charge on their 1600's. They do ride slightly faster than me too. This is also in the San Francisco Bay area where we're not always on flat roads.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety +1

      Temp, allow for anything between 15% and 30% loss on total range (when looking at the electric car market predictions and real life findings).

  • @TheThunderwars
    @TheThunderwars Před 2 lety

    If you ride it like you stole it at 50 km/h full throttle all the time, agressive acceleration and extreme braking, you can get as little as 50km before it bips at you at anywhere above 40/45. But then, if you slow down to 30, it will get back some of its range due to battery sag and you would absolutely be able to do 30 km with 35% battery remaining at a brisk 30km/h with battery to spare.
    If you ride it like a grandma at 25km/h, you should be able to get above 100km range no problem.

    Hi Ian, have you come across problems with this model? I am about to recieve a used msv3+, but I read about some sudden cut off on this wheel. I am a bit worried..

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 3 lety +1

      Its possible on any wheel, less likely with the 1600wh as it takes battery error pretty much out the equation. But you can still overpower it if you try and make it cut out. Re cut outs: this might help: www.speedyfeet.co.uk/blogs/help-and-advice/do-electric-unicycles-cut-out

    Would you recommend this over the ACM 16 V3 1300MAH 1500W for mostly city and gravel? I´m about 130-ish kg... I´m thinking the smaller wheel size should mean more torque to drag me uphill... but a bigger wheel size should mean better performance on snow and mud...? Is my thinking correct or is the Msuper3 better uphill?

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety +1

      ACM and Msuper V3 are very similar in terms of power and spec. Bigger the wheel diameter then the better offroad. Its personal preference really!

    @CitiWheel Před 7 lety

    Hey Ian, I've had the msuper3s+ for about a month now, and I can say despite what the manufacturer specs are, with actual real world testing, the top speed is significantly higher than the 820wh msuper3. I have gotten it to 45 kph, and have yet to here the final alarm (which comes in at 38 kph on the msuper3 820). Other people have gotten the 1600 up to 57 kph, whereas the 820 has reports of cutting out at 45 kph. The max motor power output may also be more than the 820wh according to other peoples test. Also, I am not sure why you only got 35-40 miles. I got 60 miles averaging 16 mph (I weigh 75 kg with cloths, temperature was 40 degrees F).

    • @Duf
      @Duf Před 7 lety

      Yea I am a bit surprised by the range test numbers but even 40 miles is still a looong way on a single wheel.

    • @SuperSport1966
      @SuperSport1966 Před 7 lety

      I get a MINIMUM of 40 Miles on my 820Wh. But I have my tilt back set to 17 mph, so that's probably why.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety

      Post as above:
      "Did 2 tests intentionally to give it a fighting chance, last test was on essentially flat tarmac, as it was following the river with a fair split forward and back.
      The distance was the distance, it could be the unit, but unlikely, as I had similar underwhelming results with the 820wh as well. Not disappointed with it, as 2 hours of solid riding is enough for my legs lol. Average speed of the second trip was 14.5mph if you need a ref point."

    • @SuperSport1966
      @SuperSport1966 Před 7 lety +1

      That is correct, it's not disappointing in any way as that is still a long distance. And you cannot beat the ride. It is so comfortable and so pleasant to ride with extra power to spare. It's an amazing wheel. I've ridden a few brands now, and this v3 is my favorite by far.

    • @CitiWheel
      @CitiWheel Před 7 lety

      I have taken it up to 45 kph at 70 percent charge with still no final alarm. I just bought some motorcycle level protection, and will make a video of where the final alarm comes in. I'll post the results to my channel as soon as I do.

    Hello, I´m from Costa Rica, I want to buy one of this Gotways, Because of yours and other reviews I found this are the best ones. This will be my first one Wheel vehicle, can you please suggest me, if I should buy the ACM-1600 or the MSuper-1600 ? I´m thinking to buy one of this options, but need suggestions what will be better to start with ? Here in Costa Rica we have a lot of hills and not so good streets, also a lot of holes and Irregularities.

    • @Landelutt
      @Landelutt Před 7 lety +1

      You should probably install a heating element there as to keep the batterys from getting cold. This would increase battery power greatly. For this I would use a separate power-bank. In the process of installing that you could also install USB-ports that works when the unit is off. Depending on eletronics-skills you probably could install a switch and use that power-bank as backup-power as well if the main power goes out! =) You could rule the world!

      mid range version, but now that I've mastered it and eat up miles like crazy Im goen for the 100 mile range Monster by Gotway
      I feel its the Cadillac of wheels
      plus the sit looks like a comfortable option for long trips
      as a tip to all riders it is a good idea to get a mounted mirror on ur helmet so u can see whats com'n up behind u, or do what I did mount an actual auto side mirror on a 3-4' pole kinda like a selfie stick for ur phone and use this when crossing streets without turning ur head in the opposite direction works great!
