  • For the second year in a row we went up to northwestern Massachusetts to ride our bikes up and around some mountains, as part of the Mount Greylock Century - 12K Vertical Challenge organized by Berkshire Velo. This year, five of us went up, rented a house for the weekend, ate a bunch of food, and bonded over bikes. Once again, the ride was one of the most challenging and rewarding events we have been a part of. With over 12,000 feet of climbing, we tackled some of the hardest climbs in the area, while taking in the amazing views and getting great support from our favorite cycling club that isn't ours.

Great ride! Tackled it in 2021 with the "It's Just a Hill" crew passing me strong early on the Greylock Climb

If you like Mt Grelock check out Italy. Pretty much all centuries that go into the mountains anywhere in the country will involve at least 10k of climb and more likely 12-13k. I did Mt Carpegna from Rimini this year on a $1000 gravel bike including a few other local hills/peaks with 12k. The food, medieval towns and views are spectacular.
