I always prefer using Excel, but I also didn't know how to easily do some of these things using your tips, Sumit! Well done! Now I agree with you that I want Excel to be able to do all of these. 😂
I also prefer Excel most of the times, but the collaboration features in Google Sheets are just amazing. I am hopeful Excel will get some (if not all) of these features. The way Excel is releasing new features is insane
Thank you Sumit, Very Sharp Observations between Excel and Google Sheets. Hope Excel will adapt the features soon and this enahncements will create an enriched experience for Excel users.
Google Sheets Uses Google Appscript and in there they have written a class that allows users to send mail. If someone is working as an analyst they wil be required to send reports, adding the functionality of sending mail from within Excel would serve great
Office scripts have come to Excel (in a new Automate tab), but I am not sure about the class you're referring to. The idea seems to be to move away from VBA to office scripts.
Don't forget arrayformula function, one of the biggest reasons why I changed from excel to Google sheets. Also when you have a filter on and then tried copying the column, it doesn't let you because there are hidden rows in Excel where in Google sheets they let you.
@@trumpexcel yeah it was nightmare every time so I always uploaded the same document onto Google sheets, made the amendments then continued with the work but luckily I don't need to work with Excel anymore lol. Also thank you for the alternative formatting and the trimmed whitespace, I didn't know you could do that without the trim function 😆
Great idea, great video Sumit. Making the enhancements you just said will make Excel more user friendly and that means more excel users. I believe your idea will have multiple benefits. Many thanks Sumit.
Great video! I've been thinking about the Freeze panes one for a long time. It's so nice in Google Sheets. Also, the Query function which a few people have mentioned. So powerful to be able to write SQL in a formula.
Thanks for commenting Lee... I hope Excel gets a similar drag and drop Freeze pane. I haven't used the Query function much, but multiple comments have mentioned it, so will check it out 🙂
@@trumpexcel Actually neither have I! I just saw it is possible, and it's been on my to do list for a while :D I know exactly where I want to do it too. I use Google Sheets to manage looking after second hand uniforms at my kids' school. At the moment I manually remove the 'sold' items, but it would be much better if I write a query to do it for me :)
Split the view feature is still in Excel (if that is what you're talking about), but that's a bit different as it splits the worksheet into two sections, both of which you can scroll separately
Hello Sumit Any guess by when excel will. Have check list box in insert menu, till now it is limited to beta version only, we have been listening it will come to all..but by when it is uncertain
I am not sure when they will roll it out to everyone. My guess would be not more than a few months. It's been tested well enough to be rolled out I believe. Hopefully soon

I didn't realise that freezing panes in Sheets is as easy as that. Definitely needs to come to Excel!
Hoping the same

Another good one from
TrumpExcel.

True, copying and pasting data when there are filtered rows is irritating in Excel. I didn't know Google Sheets doesn't have this issue 👍

YAAASSS! I don't use Google Sheets, but I know Excel would be better with these functions! Thank you for everything you do!
Agreed, some of these features would make Excel even better
I like the Date selection (through Data Validation) that pulls up a calendar on Google Sheets
Excel Online (on the web) already has this feature. I am hopeful it will come to Excel Desktop as well
Thank you.
Thanks!
Thanks
You always teach me something useful. Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words... I am glad the video was useful 🙂
Very useful as always. Array Formula, Importrange and Query are some other functions which Excel should have.
Great idea, great video Sumit. Making the enhancements you just said will make Excel more user friendly and that means more excel users. I believe your idea will have multiple benefits. Many thanks Sumit.
Thanks Shiffa... With the speed Excel is releasing new features, I am hopeful some of these will be in Excel soon 🙂
Love all the ideas!! always learn something new watching your videos, thank you..
This is a bit different than the usual Excel tips videos I do, so I wasn't sure if it would be well received or not. Glad to see that it's useful 🙂
Good one ❤!

Excel actually had something like the drag function to split the view which you could then fixate but they removed it for some reason

Query function in Google Sheets. I like it

I like how Smart Fill automatically converts into a formula. That's yet to happen with Flash Fill.
I think that's in the testing phase and will soon be in Excel too
