- An important question for black when faced with a white pawn on e5 in the Caro-Kann Advanced is, "How can I organize my kingside minor pieces?" With black's thematic pawn break being c5, this conveniently opens up the c6 square for the king knight. d7 on the other hand is reserved for the queen knight. With white playing an early c4, the middlegame becomes slightly volatile, making the element of time an important factor. Would there be time to complete development?

Wow. I've played the Caro-Kann with black for years now, and I never even knew that transferring the king-knight over to c6 was a mainstream idea.
eggs, check, bacon, check, coffe, check, Jerry, checkmate.
Nathan Anthony Barber lol
Murcheckmaider?
I like this Short Advanced Variation against the Caro Kann - looks very solid.
thanks Jerry !!!! almost back to back ...thanks
Could you play some albin counter gambit? Main line involves doubling Queen and Rook on the D-file, so 5. Bg4 is mainline, but I like to sacrifice the pawn on f6, but I don't know if it's good... :p cheers for the video
At 5:43, you could have had bishop take a4, then if pawn takes, fork the king and queen, and if not, you at least win a pawn.
+ChessNetwork I was wondering if you watch Norway Chess tournament that is going on these days AND if you could be so kind to make a video about the game like you do when there is World Championship. This is a long shot but I missed the matches and usually rely on your channel for chess. Still days untill finals btw.
(and yes this is half a request, half a fanletter in the comment section of youtube)
This's the first repetition in many videos, It was certainly an interesting game, though I don't think I would be very happy playing it for black with my skill level.
Hey Jerry, at minute 14:06, would a knight sacrifice at e5 have worked? If Queen takes, then bishop d6 and it seems like you got a whole lot coming. If queen doesn't take then you just won a pawn and advanced your knight. Great video by the way!
what engine are you using?
22:11 You're winning the queen with Qd1+ , not the knight.
So the "fancy" stuff you talk about would have worked.
what are you talking about? the queen is defended by the pawn
The white queen on d8 is not defended.
good find
Nice man
I'm new to chess. Can someone please explain to me why bishop b4 at 10:00 is a blunder, don't you win back the bishop after Qd2? Thanks
Qb5 threatening mate and defending f1 saves the day
Thanks I hadn't really considered that but isn't Qe1 just mate then?
oh right queen can defend
Thanks that was the tactic I wasn't seeing!
In that position, black could play Qe1 anyways getting back the e pawn, but the position still favors white at the end
9:33 had the same blindspot and idea
that bishop was a killer
Hey chess network, I was wondering. Couldn't you have taken on 26 it was a free pawn
Move wise was - Bh4
Instead of shuffling the queen up ?
anish jerry... there I said it
At 5:31 had 26... bxh4 threatening Nf4 with a fork on king and queen
please somebody give him an IM title
IM is better than NM?
Idan Reisinger IMs are 2400+ FIDE and NMs are 2200 USCF, so there's about a 300 point rating difference between their strengths. (USCF ratings are inflated by ~ 100 points compared to FIDE.
Jerry has a fide rating of about 2260
jerry make an irl video!!!!
pls enable the 2 line chess engine
With an engine on the side while they play? I very strongly disagree, if that's what you mean
BeEJayLetsPlay when he's analysing his game lol
More computer impossible!
About 200 ratings higher and a pown up... settling for a draw? 🤔😏
