I was at Kroger in kingwood , just finished checking out and paying for my groceries when the power surged. Registers didn't seem to want to reboot for the customers behind me. I got lucky because i was out of groceries and all the fast food places were down because of the power issues.

I'm still without power, and it's 12:34 a.m. The power has been out since 6 p.m.

Those towers are built to withstand 140mph winds. It may take a month or so to get official reports, but I guarantee that area had winds in excess of 145mph. How do I know this? The exact towers were damaged in the exact way during the August 2020 Derecho that hit Cedar Rapids, IA. Those towers in Marion, IA is how they determined max wind speed for the storm. Cedar Rapids lost roughtly 65% of it's trees from that straight line wind event.

Actually, all it would take is one faulty or corroded tower to fail, and it - along with wind less than 140 mph - would pull down other towers nearby.

These are made to withstand a strong Hurricane... this is an intentional flaw in my humble opinion!!

I just loved how the national weather alerts gave a 30 seconds notice warning to seek shelter of a tornado warning...I was on 99 at bridge land creek pkway, complete dark sky unable to see.....I witnessed those lines go down those flaming sparks.....no where to seek shelter but under the tuckerton 99 bridge....scary not knowing it was a scene from twister...trees flying no escape

We close on our home in cypress next week. I’m praying for everyone & in disbelief 🫢 about this storm. Literally was leaving out the elevator at work walking towards my car in the med center garage and then I saw the fast day to night transition in the sky with high winds and then messy rain. So scary.. I waiting until the storm subsided before driving home 🙏🏻
