can you see the mites? chicken or sparrow mites are tiny, they can live without feeding for months, steam cleaning is step 2 , first you must spray flea killer pesticide with insect growth regulator, then wait for a few days for activity to stop, then steam clean, no mopping, or they jump onto your skin and are terribly difficult to get rid off.

@@remusorchora2827 The main point is that mites can embed the skin, emerge periodically from the holes/burrows and make life miserable. D.gallinae species or not, the important thing is what will help you best. I know about bird mites as that is what have made my life miserable for years, yes years. I found a dead bird in my basement and life become living hell after that. Bird mites do penetrate into human skin, live off human blood exclusively, and itch like crazy. They do not need birds to live, that is old wrong information and the people who still believe that have no idea how lucky they are. The steps I recommend of using a pesticide with igr first, then letting the chemicals work for seven to ten days, then thorough steam cleaning, is relevant for bird mites. For getting off the skin's surface and out off the skin, the suggestions by the young lady formerly suffering from demodex are certainly relevant for bird mites too. The nitpicking of demodex versus d. gallinae mites is unnecessary for you and relevant for the mite researchers only.

I thought I was going crazy. I thought I have nerve issues or something. But... I was dating last year and I noticed while sleeping at my gf's place I was not getting bit at night. Literally had a full nights rest without issues. Came back home and it started again. So I did what you did, steamed the entire mattress, washed the sheets, and hit the mattress with alcohol spray. Havent had an issue since. This is my weekly routine whenever I wash my sheets.

I have these in my house. My cats are suffering along with me. I feel your pain. Diatomaceous earth brings them out as well. You have to put the DT on the fabric and rub. All these little asshole start popping out and roll up into hair like clumps. They are just insanity inducing little shits. Bleach also work and so does 91% alcohol. I didn’t realize what I had after 4 bed bug treatments with crossfire. I don’t have bed bugs, I have mites. Even after laundering my sheets with detergent, borax, and sometimes bleach and then even still have these critters. You have to put clothes in the dryer then washer then the dryer again to kill most of them on fabric…and there’s still some that survive. I have carpet that I can’t afford to pull up and that’s really the kiss of death. Once they establish, they are a battle that requires daily attention.

@@Tugboat-R-Us I’m so sorry. I’ve had 2 infestations. The first lasted years from a mouse that came in. The second from a hotel room. I’m still fighting them using diatomaceous earth, frequent clothes/bedding washing, cedar oil, baking soda, various other essential oils, and sulfur powder. As soon as I get it under control, another batch hatches and wreaks havoc on me. I’ve avoided chemicals but am about to spray all bedding & furniture with permethrin. May you rise victorious.

Yes I’ve got them. They are from rats and mice. Also know as tropical or roof mites. Alcohol does work, what’s works better is Dawn dish soap! I just washed my dogs in it and my head! Articles say that can cause bubonic fever as well. Their advice is to burn it all and leave!

    • @davidoparenteau7912

The dawn soap works because it amends the water usually the mites are to small and resist the surface tension of the water that's why they seem to not wash off by adding dawn which is a surfactant it breaks the surface tension they do that for asbestos abtement the microscopic fibers just resist the water this is why dawn works so well. Alcohol kills on contact. Use sterifab.

Ha I been dealing with them for 5 yrs! I need someone to take the tape with species on it. Who could do this for me? Iv tried everything. Right now I'm on the verge of well not quite yet. Not like the first yr. OMG everyone thought I was a psychopath needless to say wouldn't let me see my grandbabies and had friends to alienate me and then there is the friends that think well I'll Stick around but we know she's crazy. If anything they just summed it up as a piece of dust or lint or dirt. mean while I'm trying to collect evidence to prove it when they don't see what I see. I just quit telling anyone! And trying to fight it alone. II need someone that can look at these under a microscope and tell me I'm not crazy and tell me what to do and verify it on paper with proof so I can prove to some people that I'm not psycho! Let alone I'm on a very fixed income and can't afford much more than what I've already done I've even bought kleen green numerous times and that stuff is expensive bad! It stops them for a moment but it's not what I thought it to be maybe for some people or others other kinds but not for this one it's not doing much good. HELPPPP ps I even went to the doctor two of them the first one literally threw me out of his office and called me a drug addict the second one gave me the pill to take in case I had some parasites LOL and I even took slides over to their office so they could look at them under the microscope but they claim they didn't have any microscope. yeah right!!! And you know they have to get into the food you know they have to get into our drink what in the hell is going on and now I've read somewhere that it could become an epidemic.

If u r dealing with bird mites then you need to remove the source of the problem. THE BIRD NESTS. hire a specialist to remove them for u and just like a light switch, they will disappear within few days. The ones still infesting ur home can’t survive for long without a bird host. They bite human in search for blood, but they can’t reproduce. They can’t survive in dry areas, so if you have an air-conditioner, keep that on for a while. Few rounds of mopping and cleaning the house will kill the rest. But remember the Nest is the main problem. Remove the source

It's driving me insane and being able to afford a specialist is out of the question. I'm alone and based on a set income due to accident. Falling down stairs and wheel chair learning to walk again has been my issue so climbing on top of a house is totally not a good idea.
