Thank you, those are easily replaceable panels that I bought for my IKEA. I custom-made the hardwood cabinets, and that way if the doors ever get dented or destroyed, they can just be replaced for about 60 bucks apiece
Nice job man. I almost hate to see all that attached to a freightliner century cab. They do make chrome and stainless bumpers for those though. I'd probably look at a stainless drop visor with LED's to top off the cab appeal as well. As a trucker, this is what I would want to do, although I'd have probably looked for a Pete or KW chassis. They are just built so much better. (I had a Pete 359 that had 4 million miles on it and it was tight!) Good job on that build sir!
Thanks! I've always wanted a chromed-out KW. This truck with the conversion was 48k in rough shape. It was too good of a deal to pass up on for a full rebuild project
That is an amazing build. I thought it was a bit stark for my taste.. I could warm that up a bit but in comparison to the mass produced options I REALLY like that a lot. That bathroom alone and those closet doors, you did a great job!
Consider it like a blank canvas on which you personalize it to suit. This is very tastefully done, modern, yet comfy, and ready for you to put in carpets, different window treatments, bed coverings, whatever. I was hoping to learn about the water, gray water and black water systems, but maybe another video will be uploaded.
Oh yes, totally customizable. I truly meant that it is amazing. Beautiful and I especially love the bathroom along with the sliding closet doors. @@tombraun6514
@@tombraun6514 Hey, glad you liked it. Here's a few things I didn't cover in the video:. 1. No solar, easy to add later but I charge the 5 batteries with the built in generator, which pulls from the 150 gal diesel tanks on the truck. That's hooked to an inverter that lets me run a TV on battery only. 2. 100 gal Black, 100 gal grey water tanks outside. During winter I add a cup of antifreeze and that does the trick. 3. 10 gal hot water capacity, heats with propane and/or AC. AC is primary and is always ready. 15 minutes in the shower at 50% pressure, which is plenty. Takes about 30 min to reheat after being used. 4. Plenty of outside storage, all of the flip up doors along the outside are storage, with the exception of the 4 dedicated to Generator, Battery, Waste Tank and Compressor.
Not a tractor trailer, it's a boxtruck with air brakes, but cool build nonetheless! I like the large amount of water storage, but I'm sure you've learned already that, that much weight sloshing around at the rear can be dangerous on wet/icy roads. Be careful and enjoy!
I bet the guy has an avarage car, avarage job, avarage apartment, and no motor home... LOL For a 95% DIY project I'm impressed. Is there any solar on the roof? What is the gray and black water capacity? What is the hot water capacity, and what heats it? Is there any outside storage? Maybe another video going over the engine size, transmission type, generator output, and all the other technical aspects involved in operating the vehicle. THAN and great job... You know what I was eluding to with avarage I hope.. :)

Before you do, please rent one for a week to see if its for you. I've heard a lot of horror stories of people selling their homes and then trying to sell their RV after living out of it for 5 years. A 250k Class A rv will usually sell for less than half that price after 5 years.
Hmm... I think we have different definitions of what is cozy. To me it’s not, because it lacks personal items to make it cozy. It definitely has potential to be cozy though.
Thank you - and yeah, definitely not for everyone. I wanted it to look minimalist and modern and clean. When I started the project, I used to say it should look like an Italian hospital.
I appreciate the full size sofa, tv area and mostly the bathroom. Can't stand the builds with hidden bathrooms or just pulling out the toilet from somewhere.
This is called a Toterhome, which is a converted semi truck. New, these start at around 300k. There are also Super-Cs, which are slightly smaller but the same idea - a heavy duty truck frame that is extended with a living quarters box (permanently attached to the frame). Aside from the massive cost - they are also very expensive to maintain - roughly $150-300 for an oil change to start. 3 commercial size batteries...the list goes on. I bought one in bad shape for 48k and put another 50k into renovations. Insurance was $150/mo. Living at a nice RV park was 350/mo with all utilities included.
Thanks! I paid 48k for the truck in beat up shape, then gutted it and rebuilt it for about 40k in renovation costs. Looking back I could have cut all the custom cabinet work and saved roughly 10k.
This is exactly what I want. 5 🌟 tiny home on wheels. Go anywhere park anywhere. I was thinking to buy a truck, convert to tiny home and rent out a parking spot for trucks. How much did it cost for everything? I need this. I want all the comfort of a 5 star tiny home van life.

Absolutely amazing work! Did you have to get a CDL Class B license or was there a way to register it as an RV? Also, what insurance company did you use? Thanks for sharing!
This is a Toterhome, which is a motorhome built on a semi-truck chassis or a larger heavy-duty truck (HDT). They’re basically massive RVs with a ton of power for towing an additional trailer. You're right. It's not a tractor trailer, but most people see semi trucks and call them tractor trailers. If I called it a toterhome tiny house, everyone would ask what a toterhome is
Yeah, I went back and forth for a long time on that design choice. Most days I'd just leave it down, but having an office was huge. For cocktail hour, a group of four would hang in the back with the bed up.
Love the set up how is the shower does it leak at all some friends have the same shower in their sleeper leaks at the bottom corner where the doors meet leaked since day one replaced the doors still leaks .you live in it full time ? Thanks for sharing 👍
Hey thanks. I lived in it full time for about a year then sold it. The bottom corner never leaked on me, but I had to spend a good amount of time adjusting the angle of both doors to ensure they lined up to form a seal
Wow!! If I had the chance & could afford this tractor trailer & the tiny house inside, I would not hesitate! This is amazing! I have a question; the tv comes up from the top back of the heater or fireplace, wouldn't the heater or fireplace get to hot and melt the tv if it's not raised up?
I put a a 12in deep layer of foam insulation between the back of the ethanol fireplace and the TV. The heat vents forward from the fireplace, so the majority of the heat was well separated. I never had any issues after several years of use.
Yes, I didn't care about weight at all in my build. The two rear axles are 20k each, which allowed me the freedom to build without worrying about overloading the truck

I am curious if there are regulations that affect a build like this? like where you can park it. refill water, gas etc? is it comparable to an RV?
It has all the same systems as an RV to be compatible with RV park hookups. Sewer, electric and water.
Really nice build. But it's not a tractor trailer. It may be a stretched tractor, but I didn't see a trailer.
