Mad River Outfitters is the leader book out yet? I’ve been looking in the store catalog and can’t find it. Also I’m trying to find more on leader building in the existing videos but there’s so much content! Thanks in advance from a novice fly angler trying to learn all I can from such a great source!!!

I've been building leaders out of Maxima and Amnesia since I read Harry Murray's book on smallmouth fishing 20+ years ago. Knot sense is a great product for coating blood knots, though I do taper it on to the leader material, with a nipped off tag of Chameleon.

  • @isupportthecurrentthing5225

I use tippet rings on all my leaders and find that knot sense works great on the ring.

  • @milehighdad6283

Thanks for a great video! One question. At ~6:32 in the video, you state: "When I'm fighting a fish, I'm never going to come past the end of the fly line. Ever." Referring to the leader to fly line knot going through your rod guides. I completely understand the desire to avoid the situation, but it occasionally happens to me; especially when attempting to fish 9 to 12 ft leaders on a 9 ft rod. That is why I primarily use 7.5 ft leaders. I consider myself an intermediate fly fisher. Do you have any tips on how to avoid having the end of the fly line pass through the rod guides while fishing longer leaders? Thanks.
