MEET LULU, our new 8 week old black and tan cavoodle puppy or cavapoo puppy! We got her from NSW Cavoodle Breeders called Puppy Paradise Cavoodles for $3500 instead of $8000 which is the usual cost of a cavoodle puppy in Australia! Join us as we road trip to Cootamundra to pick up our cavapoo puppy, Lulu, for the first time and bring her home to her new home! Spend the first 24 hours with our new cavoodle puppy as we practice the best routines for puppies, toilet training an 8 week old puppy, socialising a new puppy and dealing with puppy separation anxiety by providing her with licking mats, crate training and a snuggle puppy toy! I have few bits of advice for you though if you don’t mind. I recently got a puppy, not a cavapoo, mine is a German shepherd x cattle dog but I’m sure this may be helpful to you.

You are able to use her meals to help train her, so hand feeding her and encouraging her to sit, lie down and so on is something you’re able to do. Use her meals as a resource to strengthen your bond with her.
In terms of what you’re feeding though, I recommend always hydrating your dry food with either warm water, broth or even goats milk. Kibble in itself is very dehydrating as it’s very low in moisture and can be high in salt depending on the brand. Using these liquids can also make the food more enticing and encourage pup to eat.
In terms of whether to feed cooked, raw or commercial canned/kibble is a personal thing. There’s benefits for each really but there’s also cons. I really recommend researching each diet. I am currently feeding my girl commercial raw, kibble and some canned. Cavapoos are known for their sensitive stomach so even seeing a vet can provide some insight.

I'm a bit late because I just saw this video… But this is absolutely one of the best comments about dogs that I have read in a very long time! As an experienced dog handler, I know that all of this is completely valid and Sensical. What I really love is, how supportive and thoughtful you were. You gave information without being pushy, which seems to be a rarity in the dog community.

OMG what a cutie! I used to have a king Charles cavalier spaniel and he was the best boy! He was a very easy puppy and he was always happy his whole life, except when he had a grooming. I never heard of these cavapoos until I saw your video. Now I want one aaaahhhh!😃😃😃

Love the Tan Eyebrows! LOL She's beautiful! We had a black cava-poo and she lived to be 13 1/2 years old. We lost her last Aug. She was the sweetest dog and I'm sure yours will be also! We miss her terribly but, watching others cava-poos has been so comforting! Mine loved cuddling!

This video just popped up on my main feed. I don't normally click on a lot of videos, but for some reason I decided to click on this one, and I'm glad I did! I know this is a bit late, and I'm sure your girl is now Much more mature. (I did look at some of your latest videos, which I will watch, and I see that you got a second puppy!)
Anyway, I really enjoyed watching this. You guys sound like absolutely wonderful people, and I'm sure that you did plenty of preparation prior to getting her. I did not read through all the comments, but in regards to those who think that adopting is better than purchasing… Well, that very much depends on the individual person and circumstance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing from a responsible breeder, and it isn't anyone else's business to tell you what to do.
Briefly about me: I'm a woman living in the United States. I currently have a German Shepherd service dog (four year old male), and I am raising a puppy rat terrier to become a future service dog (five month old male, named Casper, but I affectionately call him chocolate ghost , because he is a solid chocolate, he has beautiful green eyes, and I think of Casper the friendly ghost.) i've had dogs for 23+ years, and I am passionate about training every dog who comes into my life. But I'm not interested in training people with dogs. Ha ha.

I think that the Advance puppy food is rehydratable, so you can add a bit if water to either turn it into a paste or make it softer for the puppy to eat!
To soften the food up, put some water in the food bowl,

Absolutely love Lulu! She definitely has the eyes of a typical Cavalier! I highly recommend a fresh/raw food dog diet! It's much healthier than any other diets for dogs! But ultimately you should do what is best for Lulu! If she doesn't do well on that type of diet then try a healthy kibble. Make sure the kibble does not have any fillers or preservatives. The first few ingredients should always be fresh sources of meat. If you need any other help, please let me know! I have Cavalier who is 17 months old and I have definitely learned a lot with her!

Aww that is really nice to hear! Our Cavalier’s name is actually Luna. She is a chestnut and white color! But she looks similar to Lulu because of her expressive eyes!

We just got a cavapoo. Crate training has been going good, last night she slept from 10pm until 3am then out for pee and straight back in and woke me at 8am. She is a toy poodle (mama) and King Charles cavalier (papa) 9 weeks old.

Yes of course! The crate I got was from Typo but not too sure if it’s still being sold! You’ve motivated me to make another puppy update video so I will do some research on crates similar and link them :)

Hey ours is an F1 and we got a second one last year who is F1b I think (dad was a cavoodle and mum was a poodle) - I can definitely see the difference in looks but not much in personality or temperament xx Good luck with your little pup once you get it! So exciting!
@@StephanieJD oh thanks for that. We lost our miniature dachshund and Papillon recently, before that we had a West Highland terrier. I always like to have a completely different breed. I want my Cavapoo to be curly and have long floppy ears, they all look quite different and they are everywhere here where I live - Dorset UK. ( they love the beach!)

What food do you feed lulu she’s so adorable
Hey! We feed her some puppy kibble and then a home cooked recipe mixed together! The home cooked food has pumpkin, zucchini, carrot, little bit of baby spinach, beef mince and chicken mince in it :)

U shouldn't immediately switch her food as it will upset her tummy. Let her eat the kibbles she is used to for the next few weeks and then very veRy slowly u make the change. And there is a specific way to change a puppies kibbles. Please research how to do it correctly for your breed. When you are making a switch you have to begin by adding just a tiny bit of the new kibble to her current kibble at all her meal times. After a few days u slightly increase the amount of the new kibble mixed in with current kibble and so on...

Not letting her sleep so she'll sleep through the night is really bad for her and can actually cause more restless sleep since she'll be over tired. Puppies, like babies, need naps.

Really? It just scares me! I’m thinking of getting a raw food subscription but just a bit suss about bacteria in the meat
@@StephanieJD when I used to breed Rottweilers I started the puppies on raw I used Darwin’s then found a local butcher shop that sold raw dog food it’s definitely cheaper if you can find a local shop and source it locally. You can also get great deals on organs and necks since not too many people buy those 😁

Thanks for the advice, we currently feed them two times a day but as per the breeder and vets advice we knew to feed them very small amount 4 times a day at the beginning

I agree it is important to consider adopting, which we definitely did consider and look into but multiple factors lead us to buying instead xx
